Everyone keeps calling this a cover, if you are playing a song you wrote, it is not. It is a different version of your song.
I saw Rhodes on the Blizzard tour. Morse does a fine job. Different, but solid.
I think it would in fact be lame if Morse and Barnes were trying to mimic Rhodes and Ozzy. And to all the haters out there, obviously none of you have seen Ozzy live in the last 25 years, his live vocal signal has more processing on it than Lady Gaga. Barnes can really fucking sing...
Bob did do most of the lyrics & helped Rany with the arrangments on all the songs on the first two Ozzy albums And Sharon strong armed Bob & Lee to sell thier publishing rights to Ozzy But Jake E lee did 90% of the writing on Bark at the Moon and Sharon made him sell his rights to those songs all the songs he wrote on ultimate sin to Ozzy. Jake let it be known that he would not be selling any more publishing to them as he figured out thats where the big money is made and suprise Jake was fired
I like this! It's so great when a group of musicians and music lovers get together and make music. I've heard Bob had a hand in writing all those old Ozzy Band hits. I believe it based on what I've seen and heard. It always pissed me off that Jake never got credit for the writing on Bark at the Moon. It says right on the sleeve all songs written by Ozzy Osbourne. Now it comes to light that Bob and others helped too. Why not just give credit where credit is due? It's so dishonest not to.
@giuseppemare ozzy riped bob off big time ...it was bob that did ALL the writing on ozzys first 3 LPs..in this band is 3 out of the 4 musicians that are on the first few ozzy LPs..the only one that is not there is Randy...and ozzy
bob even went back for more of ozzys bull shit on the no more tears LP and again ozzy riped him off big time
ozzy has never been much of a writer...even in sabbath...just so you know ;-)
@towmandave00 Hope Bob sues. The music survives eh? I liked Bob's playing on "Bark at the Moon" as well. I wonder how much of that record was a collaboration between Jake and Bob and the others? It's funny that none of the other musicians have spoken out against Ozzy. I heard Jake was asked to come back and declined. I wonder if those that wrote the music are receiving royalties? I hope justice is served soon.
@giuseppemare i don't really know a lot about "bark at the moon"...but its kind funny that Ozzy had the drum and bass tracks taken off the "blizzard of Oz "CD as well as diary of a mad man CD and payed 2 guys by the hour to re do them....Bob never really got what was his from Ozzy...to bad....Bob and Lee Kerslake did take Ozzy to court but never got what they should have...i think Ozzy's wife Sharon had more to do with that then Ozzy did...but hey....that's rock and roll man
3 of the 5 original Blizzard of Ozz band. Morse is in a class unto himself and im more than 100% sure he knows what role he's playing. Come to think of it, he does KINDA look like an older version of Randy .
Morse is an improvisor, every dregs tune had sections for this, that's what makes it more interesting. when i see bands live, especially as a guitarist, i want to things a different and be suprised. you know morse has a ba in music, he's also a brilliant classical guitarist.
I like it, different SM is a great guy the Blizzard of Oz was a great band. These guys made Ozzy such a shame Ozzy didn't take that flight in Leesburg
@RandyRhoads1980 Steve Morses solo wasn't as melodic but it was a better improvisation than I've ever heard Randy do.
I can pick Morse out of a few dozen guitarists any time because his unique phrasing and vibrato, he is also way more technically advanced and diverse than Randy ever was.
Randy's rhythm parts sounded more tight and action-packed though, plus Steve's tone is a bit weird here.
@FubarAustria yeah people need to acknowledge that just because Morse didn't play the original solo doesn't make his bad. There's no way it would've made sense if he had copied it anyway. For one thing, Steve doesn't tap and he's much more of a picker than Randy was so it would have been awkward. Granted I wish he would have incorporated some elements of the original solo, but it's still not bad, no need to throw as hissy fit Rhoads fans (yes I'm talking to you RandyRhoads1980)
Ugh. These guys took a classic and crapped all over it. Vocals suck ass. Chord changes are not good. Solo was a piece of trash. Horrible. Flat out horrible.
@slowemm you are retarted, they gave the classics reborn it with more life and soul. steve morse kicked randy of the stage.. jimmy blew ozzy of the planet so fuck of and be a critic somewhere else!!
@Gabrielrhoads Do you know who he is? The greatest Australian rock god the 1 and only Jimmy Barnes, check his stuff out, have you heard of Cold Chisel? great stuff!
I'm sure Randy was a Dixie Dregs fan and would be very pleased to hear Steve Morse play his stuff...and certainly not expect him to do it note-for-note.
@Dannypuzzle Steve Morse was a living legend in the jazz community before Randy was in Ozzy, he can do what he pleases. Improvising is the essence of Rock n Roll!
I love Steve Morse with Deep Purple and as a solo artist, and I love Ozzy even more, so I thougt this would be a cool different interpetretion (didn't get that spelling right I know, I'm from Denmark) but I have to say that the singing turned me off. Then I was looking forward to the solo, but when you already know the Rhods and Wylde solos (especially Live At Budokan) it was a letdown. It was too much Morse. Thats not normally a problem, but in this case it was too boring and predictable.
@elliotsnorre They are obviously doing the song completley different than the original, but since Daisley and Kerslake wrote it, I guess they can do that!
Randy Rhoads,Zak Wilde and Steve are welcome to their own styles and as such shouldnt copy verbatim notes but rather play their own interpretation of em,I do it all the time, its what makes you unique in something thats been done b4.
Jimmy Barnes is a better singer, no doubt, I like how he makes this song more bluesy!!

Oh, it seems as if few don't know the difference between a copy and a cover....
E.g. Steve Morse is Steve Morse and NOT Randy.
So, let these guys perform the songs the way they like, ok?
They for sure showed lots of times before that they can do their own stuff, and now they're just having fun....so what?
