Yes you could, it's all in what you want to do, just like every decision we make in life, everyday. Of course some things we can't always help when they happen, but you know what I mean. This guy inspired me to lock up, and it has never been difficult to deal with, except mine it starting to develop more weight. :-P

Actually, from how you made your experience sound, it sounds like you backcombed and put wax in it. I did that once, hated it. This Video In Particular, he didn't use wax or anything, just neglection and time. And if you wash it regularly(when it needs washed), it shouldn't feel icky. And also, like I said about weight, there are ways to fix that, it's called ripping. I did a couple on my head recently, and it helped a little. :-)

No no no. You shampoo it. You just use natural shampoo... it's the conditioners and stuff that slick your hair out and shit. Just use all-natural shampoo and make sure not to condition hair, and don't brush it, it'll start getting really messy and in the months to come that mess will knot up and eventually you'll be a dreadyboy.

I started my dreads about a month ago, but I'm not sure how they're doing. Still pretty loose, especially at the tips. They looked a bit like yours were in this vid, but frizzier. Dreadlock fashion didn't start until the late 70s, and before that, all that existed, was neglect. Neglect is the best way to go! So people that don't do it that way, they have no say whatsoever.
