  • no sympathy at all. as far as bt are concerned the phone line is working. you were lucky he put batteries in ur phone

  • Sorry mate it's your phone and they are your batteries, would you expect a trained engineer with thousands of pounds worth of tools and equipment plus big vehicle to come and supply and change batteries in your phone for nothing. I'm sorry your of ill health but your family need to wake up.

  • And because hes disabled he should be treated differently?

  • if u r with bt this a sign for u to switch company pronto

  • you should have checked another phone to see if it was a line fault. How thick can you get.... im glad you got charged!

  • If the fault HAD been with BT would they have given £100 for the loss of service? (I think not, it should work both ways)

  • Although I sympathise with the guy - BT are a business, not a charity. Nothing beyond the demarcation point of the BT network is maintained by BT - all is chargable. If you have a washing machine that does not work, you get a repair guy out and he finds you have not plugged it in - whether it is guaranteed or not, you will still be charged - why should it be any different if if it is BT and whether you are young old, able bodied or disabled???

  • She says she thought they'd charge £30 or something - but ummm.. for £30 you could probably buy 2 new phones! If BT had waived this charge, it would set a precedent for this kind of behaviour and so for ONCE (I don't think I ever will again) I side with BT on this one.

  • You'll find that when you report a fault with your telephony service to BT they perform checks with you and do remote line tests. They ask you to try other handsets on your line to see of the problem persists BEFORE sending out the engineer so that the customer will NOT be faced with the call out charge! If this lady done this in the first place like BT said then this situation would not have happened! How can BT be responsible for this lady's failure to perform such a simple check! YOUR 2 BLAME

  • And the fact also is "we didnt know the phone took batteries....well what else does she think there is a section where any notmal...person would clearly see!! Scousers for you

  • BT the company that PRIDES itself on SERVICE to justify their higher prices than any other provider!!!!!!!!!
