that's strange : I played this game when I was a child and I remember almost everythin clearly until the first drive stage, but I dont remember the part at 3:14 0_o'
One of the first games I ever bought. I used to play through the practice modes so I could get the extra life, piece of chicken, and something else (I can't remember) before playing the real game.
If I died one time, I had no chance of beating the game. Had to have the whip on the last couple of levels or the bad guys (Rocky and Rocko) would kick my ass! Man, I loved this game.
The difficulty is basically the same between Game A and Game B. The only difference is that in Game A, the NES Zapper must be used during the shooting levels and in Game B, the NES controller must be used during the shooting levels.
So, if you find it hard getting to the enemies quickly enough with a controller, you might have an easier time getting to them with the Zapper, especially when pointing the gun directly to the TV like many tend to do hahaha!
@BlamefulEye36 Also, in Game A Billy starts off with less bullets during the shooting levels and is unable to hold down the shooting button for automatic fire as in Game B while using the controller. Therefore, Game A is actually slightly harder in that sense, when not pointing the Zapper directly to the TV of course :).
@BlamefulEye36 Haha that was actually me playing on Game B, just check the description :).
A playthrough on Game A wouldn't be impossible by any means, but the shooting levels would be very annoying for the viewer, as the entire screen flashes with every shot taken with the Zapper.
Finishing the game on Game A while using the Laserscope (headset made famous by The Angry Video Game Nerd) would be something :). I would have to record a live run though, in order for my voice to be heard.
I always liked this game because of it's unfair difficulty and watching my brother get frustraded on the first stage when I was able to almost beat it when I was 6 years. Oh and I played on mode A, with the Zapper.
I beat this game when i was 10, i felt amazing! Truly a hard game to play. It CAN be done, just remember to do ALL of practice mode, the power ups and extra's help BIG time!
This has to be the most unfair game i ever played in my life. I remember all i wanted to do was make it to New Orleans just to use the whip so i would'nt have to fight up close.. Too bad that jeep driving stage before was too fucking hard.
I like how the bad guy taunts you at the end of the stages, he's all like "Yeah, I got your ho here with me, all helpless and tied-up in her bra and panties.
And there's nothing you can do about it.... HA HA HA HA!'
I had a select group of friends with different levels of parental involvement so "we " had a great idea to get all the right games we wanted. It was all wrapped up with a bow when I got there. All I had to do was lie to my grandmother. Why did she call me and ask why the guy who sold her the game asked how old I was? I had to tell on him.
Does that alligator trick only work with the stick? Also, in the shooting stage, I noticed you only lose ammunition if you miss. Interesting.. I guess the enemies drop exactly one round when they die? :)
lol I always sucked at this game, but it really sticks out in my mind for some reason. But damn I didn't remember the AI being that terrible lol. I know it's a Nintendo game but still... they just kinda walk aimlessly around lol
I still can't beat this game. but I love the gameplay it's just the enemies. It's so hard to tell when they're gonna strike. Is it like a hit and run kinda game?
I always hated this game because there is no real payoff! You don't get to fuck Annabelle at the end of it, so why would you even bother to go through all this shit to rescue her?
Seriously, what kind of head gangster villain talks like that? He sounds like Data from Star Trek or something:
""Billy! I'm taking Annabelle away. If you want her back, you will have to come to my estate. You will find that before reaching the estate there will be many obstacles to overcome. Let's see if you have what it takes to get here."
That's about five times as dainty as the least-threatening Disney villain ever. Ooh, I'm quaking in my booties now!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!!! :D
@ObiWanBillKenobi u wanna talk about villains voices?? what about mr.x from kung fu?! this was the gayest game that i couldnt stop playing when i was little

I remember this game used to be really badass back in the day. I need to pull out of my collection sometime and give it another try. I haven't played it in over 13 years...
oh my god I just remembered this game after saw the screw attack video. I finished in NES back when I was a kid and I was so happy that I finish it because it was damn hard!. I remember that the last boss was 2 giant enemies one red and one blue but anyway now I know the name and I can get the game and play it again.

Wow. Memories. This game poed me off so bad. Great 2 C some1 has the freakin' patience 2 kill this monster. I couldn't find NE other parts 2 this vid. I would have loved 2 finally C Annabelle get rescued by the original Crocodile Dundee...
that's all you had to do to beat the alligators???? i used to stand on the side of the lake just out of reach of them and wait for them to come up to me one at a time over and over again and kick them until they were dead, it took like 10 minutes to beat that stationary screen that way, i didnt know you could just stand next to them and pound them on the head...ahhhhhhh
Goddamn this game. I remember thinking of myself as a fairly competent gamer until I played this. Countless hours spent and never beat it. So f'n hard.

@VileVengeance Well, to be honest im glad i had to bust a testile or wo to beat these games, taught me something about dedication, and discipline. Main reason todays games arent that appealing or simply addictive or that fun for the matter is the difficulty. Its fairly too easy for my taste. The game's difficulty and simplicity made you have to think of ways to overcome them instead of some shit telling you how to in those magazines. Made the inner complexity a beautiful thing.
It's times like this that I wonder....Was the music REALLY what made these games so cherishable? I don't wanna say memorable because we wouldn't forget the difficulty, I think the music is the reason we kept them.
(Note: That's not to say gameplay wasn't good in some cases I'm just generalizing)
Nail on the head, man Its all about the music from MegaMan 2 and 3, Bayou Billy, and this game called Journey 2 Silious. I learned Flashman and Sparkman on acoutic guitar, and they sound badass on it. If only I could figure out the Bayou Billy theme...
@tedkamble fuck me this game was so bloody hard...watching this guy play makes me realise how shitty i am :) great fun though...if you like game music do a search on "jungle jam" or "castlevania dwelling of doom" i am sure you will appreciate those :) The composers of the soundtracks for these games were fucking legendary man...
