Yea your right, it actually is a travel. It's impossible to catch during the game though. This is what Phil Jackson was complaining about though. When he spins his initial foot that he plants, in this case his right foot, he is suppose to keep it down and plant the left before he picks up the right again and replant which would be two steps and then the shot but what he does since he spins so quickly and covers so much ground is he hops with his initial foot he plants and then takes two more.
