How is the Placebo going to counter the FACT that these dogs seriously mauled 6 people including the owner. You can't double talk the FACTS away.
There is a type of dog that is called the "pit bull." Pit bulls exist, and people can identify them. And no matter how ugly you speak, you can't change that FACT.
I highly recommend the book "The Pit Bull Placebo" for anyone that wishes to know the truth behind all this pit bull media hype. This guy states that they are natural born killers... he is no aggression expert. It is thanks to media, myths, and so called experts that any dog classified as some sort of pit bull is frowned upon.
The recent dog fighting ring spanning different states and the feds confiscated 450 pit bulls from dog fighting rings only demonstrates how INEFFECTIVE anti-dog fighting laws are. The only thing left is to regulate pit bulls via breed specific legislation like that of Miami Dade. That's the ONLY answer. The OWNERSHIP MUST BE REGULATED-otherwise it is like saying "okay it's okay to own cocaine but you can't use it". So you MUST regulate the item used (pitbulls) to make a dog fighting law work.
Pit bull zealots believe it is "discriminatory" to deny coverage or make pit bull owners get high policies to cover for dog bites, but home owner's insurance pays $375 million a year on dog bite claims and MOST of them are done by pit bulls. Those are facts-has nothing to do about the insurance company "hating pit bulls" but simple FACTS and FIGURES and CLAIMS. They have a right to charge more or deny coverage on those with pit bulls due to the LIABILITY of owning those dogs!!!
