  • Probert wore dresses

  • how many season they play together as a teammates before this happened??

  • kocurs my favorite fighter ever,he feared no man

  • @DeathEndsFun All of them and Kocur was lucky if he won one. In this fight that last punch from Bob pretty much stopped Kocur in his tracks. Joey is a tough fighter (one of my faves too) and the greatest knock out puncher ever, but he doesn't have the cardio to hang with Bobby and even he'll admit it.

  • That last punch Probert threw definitely took the wind out of Kocurs sails. He didn't look like he wanted to continue. But I don't think these two really wanted to fight each other, they were friends for a long time.

  • @DeathEndsFun Lost them all? What fights were you watching?

  • Old time hockey, the good days.

  • This had me fucked up (as a Red Wings fan)...the BRUISE BROTHERS fighting each other! lol.....torn

  • best two fighters ever

    R.I.P Probert

  • it was not a real fight. they made it look good.

  • Go fuck yourself Sam Rosen...

  • vegans make the best athletes its scientifically proven, you dont need to eat murdered cows to be strong

  • @normalguyable

. . .says the anemic guy

  • @normalguyable Murdered Cows mmmmmm........

  • Those guys played together, didnt they? Both when they played for the Wings? They must have had some kind of friendly camaraderie!

Good ol Saskatoon boy, that Kocur.

He was good out on the streets there in the summers when he had to be, too. I've seen him action. Miss his antics in the NHL.

  • @BackEddy29 they were the bruise brothers for a lone time and best fighting line the nhl has ever seen

  • classic

  • joey kocur dated my aunt, and she came back late one night and my dad took a baseball bat to his knees lol not like he was going to kick the shit outa him

  • listen to the crowd at about 1:20 right after the announcers agree that it doesn't help the league.

  • "Doesn't help the league at all"?! Two of the leagues top all-time enforcers (Bruise Bros.) fighting like rabid wolverines....These announcers are waffling pussies. How many fights did they call in their careers?! Now more europeans are in the league so ppl are whining about fighting being bad. Go call an NBA game if you hate fighting so much. Nothing more awkward than two seven foot b-ball players trying to not look like girls in a fight.

  • I don't know if its fair to say who won that fight. Kocur might have landed a few more punches, but Probert tried to get at him after they seperated and the linesman had to hold him back. I'd consider it a draw.

  • hats off to detroit fans,,they new what was happening, the two greatest heavyweights/teamates of all time,,,going at it. not alot of hockey fans (other then new york) that would appreciate what went on like detroit did that night. r.i.p probie.

  • F Sam Rosen. He just saw Probert and Kocur slug it out and he complains about? He is not good for the league. Stick to football you girl.

  • i bet they went and had beers after the game. the baddest two guys to put on the red and white.

  • "Well this doesn't help the league at all." Oh shut the fuck up, ass.

  • lol at tikkanen

  • A heavyweight bout.

  • listen to the roar of those fans after that one

  • Probie was friends with nearly everyone he fought at one time or another. He and Kocur probably went for beers at the titty bar after the game.

  • The best part is that Tik started the whole thing....

  • @wings1again = DITTO!!

  • NO THEY DONT LIKE IT AT ALL THE FANS DONT LIKE IT AT ALL....

  • R.I.P Probert you will be missed

  • First,I have played competitive hockey until junior.Fights prevent violence and is not personal.Let me to explain. We had a bitter rivalry with another team. The sticks got up,the cross checks got meaner, and then I got hit from behind.I turned and my linemate and this guy were already scrapping. Then me and another guy from his line started scrapping. After that the tension left, the sticks came down, the slashing stopped, and nobody was hurt. The fans went nuts and we laughed about it between sin bins.

  • @robert4fun0058YT Now Probert and Kocur. What fans don't get to see and hear that we players do,is we congratulate each other on a good fight if it was even.If one player definitively won,it was practically an obligation to give that player a chance to even the score. There is a comradeship between players that are willing to drop the gloves.I did not,nor do not, hate any player I have had a scrap with,it happens in the heat of the moment. These two likely went for a beer after the game.No joke.

  • The two toughest guys I ever seen, except Howe. I talked to a friend of mine who knew Kocur. He said Joey wanted to fight everyone, except Probie. Understood.

  • @teden20 then why did he not fought dave brown

  • RIP Probie. Kocur and Probert fighting is just part of this game. I bet you right after this game they were friends again. I miss these old days.

  • RIP Bob Probert, my dad went to high school with him and was good friends with him, its a hard loss

  • RIP Bob Probert

  • RIP Probie, I live in AZ now but I will always remember you. Games were so exciting when you were in them. Thanks for everything.

  • R.I.P Probie. You will always be loved. Love from Detroit thank you for all you have done. May you now protect the angels above and watch over us.

  • RIP Bob Probert.

  • Fuck Probert, Kocur greatest fighter in NHL history!

  • Bob McGill destroyed Kocur

  • 20,000 fans are cheering, and this announcer thinks that this doesn't help the league?

  • gotta give the edge to probert

  • My 2 hockey fighting heros, those were the days for me

  • Remember something..............Kocur is gving up somewhere around 25 pounds.

  • @bbmtge Kocur won that fight, EDGING master Probert.

  • Kocur didn't look like he really wanted to go at with Probert

  • good Canadian boys ...

  • I wouldn't want to get punched by Kocur when he's 88 years old!

  • Probert didn't scare people the way Kocur did. Most opposing coaches told their tough guys NOT to fight Joey. For fear of injury. I wish I could hit like Joey because there are some fuckers I'd love to knock the fuck out!

  • tikkanen was always a cunt. i would have loved to see him get his head blown off by a right from probie

  • For those who want to talk about "who's the better player", I ask while Probert may have had better stats, how many Stanley Cups did he win? ...And Kocur as a player?

That would be Kocur 3- Probert 0.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 Yea, Kocur was a great guy too, probert had a bit of a cocaine problem didn't he? Joey had a great moment with the Stanley Cup after the Rangers won in 1994, there's a shot of just him & the Cup, holding it like a newborn baby in the lockeroom

  • @B2B76 take Kocur's cock outta your mouth for a moment spanky. The 3 times they fought were all a joke. Both guys laughed about it post game, as neither one wanted to hurt the other. The fact that you just tried to say that Kocur was a better player than Probert because he got 3 rings and Probert got none sows what an assclown you are! According to that asinine logic, Steve Rooney is a better player than both Cam Neely and Wendel Clark! Do you even have a clue how fucking retarded you are?

  • @BoSoxnation1972 You sure you didn't mean to reply to george with your diatribe? Talk about anger issues, jeez bosox. Go do some coke like Probert always did, you'll feel better.

  • @BoSoxnation1972 In reading again your comment to me, seriously, what is wrong with you? I never said that Kocur was better than Probert, george did, I was just relaying a story of the scene in the Rangers lockeroom when they won the cup, lighten up regardless, nothing worse than an internet tough guy.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 That's totally irrelevant. The team surrounding you affects weather you get a ring greatly. That's why when Lemieux and Gretzky were on equal teams, Lemieux had much better stats. He was the better player but Grettzky has more rings. When Gretzky wasn't surrounded by 7 other hall of famers he couldn't beat Lemieux in the stats. Probert was the better player than Kocur for the same reason.

  • @SCROGY What equal teams and better stats? The Penguins team was a far superior team, to Gretzky's Kings, and the stats weren't that far off. Lemieux scored over 100 pts 10 times, Gretzky had over 100 assists 11 times. End of argument. Lemieux was great, Gretzky was The Great One.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 They most certainly were not equal. The penguins had the BEST player on earth: Lemiuex. And he proved it by beating Gretzky in every stat of consequence. And Gretzky did most of that while with the Oilers. How many cups did Grezky win after EDM? None. How many did Messier win AFTER EDM? Right. Gretzky = most overrated player of all time. And he even had the league and his goons protecting him. Lemieux did not.

  • @SCROGY What stats? He had a superior cast of players with his two cups than Gretzky did in LA, and his stats weren't that much better. I'm sorry, but you are showing a complete lack of knowledge if you think Gretzky is overrated. This argument is just dumb. Gretzky was the best, and didn't walk away from the game because of being a target like Mario did. For a big guy, he was quite a wuss.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 Gretzky didn't HAVE to walk away from the game because he had fighters like Semenko and McSorley protecting him. The league as well. Look what happened to Bill McReary after he creamed Gretzky. Sent back to the minors and never called up again. It's hilarious that you call Lemieux a wuss, he'd kick the shit out of Gretzky pretty easily. At least Lemieux always was against fighting. Gretzky supported it ONLY while he played because he KNEW his goons helped him.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 ...........as soon as he retired he came out against fighting like the little turncoat that he is. How come he never asked for guys like Semenko to be taken out of the game while he was scoring 200 points? Lemieux always spoke out against fighting even while he played. And although I love fights I can respect Lemieux for his stance more than that little hipocrite Gretzky. And again Gretzkys Kings were every bit as good as Lemieux's Pens. The Pens just had Lemieux.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 And for the record. Almost ALL of his stats were better during those years. So he was superior in every way. He wasn't just a little better he was a lot better.

  • @SCROGY What stats were better? Want to compare +/-? Gretzky +518, Lemieux +115. Assists Gretzky 1963 to Lemieux 1033. Goals Gretzky 894 to Lemieux 690. 200 pt seasons Gretzky 4, Lemieux 0. Even Strength Goals, Gretzky 617, Lemieux 405. Power Play Goals, Gretzky 204, Lemieux 236(he is better in one!) .Short Handed Goals, Gretzky 73, Lemiuex 49. 100 assist seasons, Gretzky 11, Lemieux 1.......yeah, far superior stats for Lemieux.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 Stop acting stupid. You know DAMN WELL we are talking about when they were on EQUAL TEAMS!

  • @SCROGY That is so vague. What equal teams? The Oilers were far superior to the Penguins, and the Penguins were superior to the Kings. The Kings had no equal to Jagr, Stevens, and Coffey. Let's face it, those Penguins would have been crushed by Gretzkys Oilers, keep Coffey.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 Again, the Pens were not superior to the Kings. Go back and look at the lineups and the Kings had several all star (or potential all star) players. Those teams were VERY, VERY close in talent. Lemieux was just the difference. This was supported by the fact that Gretzky was unable to lead his team to the cup while Messier did it with TWO separate teams. We are not going to agree, so we might as well drop this.

  • @SCROGY Who was Stevens equal on the Kings? Who was Jagrs? Who was Coffeys?

  • @georgegeorgiou74 Robitallie of the top of my head. 4 x 100 point player (career high of 125 pts) and 60 goal scorer in 1994 IIRC.

  • @SCROGY I like him, don't get me wrong. Gretzky was a better player. He won more scoring titles and more Stanley Cups. You keep bringing up stats, but you are ignoring the obvious. Messier won two cups without Gretzky, the same number Lemiuex won, plus the other 4...again, bad argument. I'm done with this, because there really is nothing argue. You may feel that Lemiuex is the best ever, but stats and Cups prove otherwise.

  • @georgegeorgiou74 You're right. When they were on equal teams, Lemieux had more cups and the better stats. Why can't you see that Gretzky wasn't the player we all thought he was? That EDM team even without Gretzky, would have been one of the greatest teams ever with a dozen all stars playing all at once. Gretzkys stats would have been average at best had he been on the teams Lemieux was on for the first 5 years of his career. LOL ......Warren Young......WARREN FREAKIN' YOUNG!

  • we were about to witness the best fight in NHL history. and the referees stopped it ... MORONS. and i dont even like the fighting, but that's one we should have seen

  • "I don't know that this helps the league, John"

"No, it doesn't...but it doesn't happen often anymore..."

Fucking sissy-pussy sportscasters need to shut the fuck up. They probably don't even like the sport, so it doesn't matter to them if they ruin it with their bullshit.

Drive fighting out of ice hockey completely and I guarantee the NHL and AHL will cease to exist that same year. Somewhere around 70% of hockey fans say they enjoy a good fight as much or more than the goal scoring.

  • John Davidson was a former Ranger goalie and he likes the fighting. Sam Rosen was always against the fighting and him and JD always argued over it.

  • I would take Kocur in his prime over Probert any day.

  • I wouldn't want to get hit by Kocur when he's 75 years old!

  • Kocur is holding back for sure

  • Long live the Bruise Brothers!

  • I talked to Kocur after this fight (honest) and he told me he later felt bad he split Probie's head open. They're still friends though.

  • THE BRUISE BROTHERS

  • They didn't really want to go, to good friends.

  • The two best enforcers the game had!!

  • Kocur gets the win

  • two good ol Canadian boys

  • That dork announcer crying "This isn't good for the league John." What was he talking about? It's great for the league! Were the people in the stands booing or cheering during the fight? They were cheering, until the refs broke up the fight, THEN they were booing. John Davidson should've put that guy in his place and told him that this is HOCKEY, and fighting is a part of the game. Guys like that announcer helped Disney-fy the game in the US.

  • agreed

  • lol @ tik

He was good at what he did, that's for sure.

  • I have a feeling that because Probert and Kocur were former team mates and friends, they were more into role playing than hurting each other.

  • fuck you dumb nigger piece of shit ass fucker

  • kocur vs probert = complete upper body positioning and strength

  • Kocur = Most destructive fighter of all time. He could go into a fight and just about literally kill the other guy.

Probert on the other hand was a better all around fighter, a true warrior who could go for 5 minutes, get out of the box and play solid hockey.

  • what about brown? he was destructive. i think probert was the best though

  • Brown didn't have the balance, but his left hand was as destructive as Joey's right. Check out a compilation video of Brown - he destroyed many heavyweights. I prefer watching Brown and Kocur's fights than Probies.

  • @Sharksfan27 so basically the best setup for an epic fight, eh?

  • @Sharksfan27 lucky for him he never had to fight Chara. (Not that Chara is a good fighter cuz he's not.......he's just huge).

  • @Sharksfan27 both players are not top3 just saying brown wilson playfair probert berube but good try though LOL

  • My two least favorite enforcers - but boy could they fight.

  • My two favourite enforcers of all time - agree on the second part :)

  • Kocur was always a better fighter than Probert. Probert was a much better hockey player though.

  • What are you talking about? Kocur may have had the hardest punch in the league, but he was nowhere near as good with his fists or endurance as Probert. When people talked about the heavyweight champ of the league, it was always about Probert. Did you even watch hockey?

  • That's because nobody wanted to fight Kocur. Probert got into a lot of fights, that's why he was considered the "heavyweight champ". And I watched plenty of hockey, in case you were going to ask.

  • You have no clue what you're talking about. Were people scared of both men? Sure! Kocur had the best punch, and Probert had incredible stamina a fast hands...but Kocur lost to plenty of lesser fighters because he was a 1 trick pony. He was very much like mike Tyson, where people feared his power, but Probert was like Ali, and could win the long, drawn out fights. Kocur didnt have the fighting skill that many top heavyweights had. He just had the hardest punch, which was enough most nights.

  • @BoSoxnation1972

You know they fought each other 3 times, and there were 2 draws, but Kocur knocked him around in the other fight. Kocurs unofficial numbers were 140-17-59 , Proberts was 155-52-61...like I said, less fights, less loses.

  • Excellent comment!1 Right on the money!

  • I would have loved to see the refs stay out of that one. Two of the toughest all-time no question.

  • Bob said they didn't want to fight each other. It was more wrestling than punching. Bob tagged Joey once at the beginning before he realized who it was. That's why they broke apart. They knew the refs would step in. They wanted to make it look like more than it was.

  • Kocur was a tough cookie.

  • Decision: Kocur

  • what do you base that on? hahaha

  • cut probert, landed more punches, the usual.

they fought 3 times, 2 wins for Kocur and one no decision.

  • I have checked Probert's stats, you calling Probert an All Star? really? Hockey has changed, his type of player does not exist anymore and would be a liability today. Whether you want to accept that is your problem. I would love to have my team play these guys today as we would have several power plays and goad him into fights so we can put the puck into the net. Welcome to the 21st century where skill matters. I bet you think Dave Schultz is a great player, too.

  • Oh really? This type of player doesnt exist anymore? Your entire arguement just got shot down by the fact that Mr. Derek Boogaard still sees ice time. Of course they still exist. Zack Stortini, sucks ass. He puts in very few points, but fought the most out of anyone in the nhl last year, and he sees lots and lots of ice time. (even if he gets his ass handed to him everytime) And yes if you make it to the all star game, I'd call you an allstar.

  • Don't you dare put Boogaard who doesnt dress when healthy into Proberts league. Let me know when Derek pots 29 goals in a season. I think rjst09's point is that useless goons are becoming extinct and teams are opting for guys like Milan Lucic or Dustin Byfuglien. They can police the ice without being a liability. Look at how Laraque cost Montreal against Boston this year. He kept chasing Lucic while Milan just kept playing and contributing.

  • go fuck your coach youtube tough guy

  • 29 goals one year and he is a 2x all star, yeah he was tough but he also had talent

  • Europe is that way------------->

    Pack your bags tonight

  • He was an all-star, he made the all-star team, therefore he was an all-star. See?

Anyway, you apparantly think that todays enforcers are better skilled players, so wouldn't it work well for one of these guys to take a better player off of the ice for five minutes?

    smartass.

  • Probert and Kocur, 2 idiots who did not deserve to lace them up. Today they would not even make a team's roster, bottom line. Not enough skill.

  • You're a complete retard. Probert played in the All-Star game. Check his stats. He had some impressive seasons points wise, as well as fights. Also, they are called enforcers and most teams have at least one. Easy for you to say, sitting in front of your computer screen who has what it takes and who doesnt to make it in the NHL these days....

  • Kocur was arguably the toughest fighter in NHL history, and Probert made the all star team in 87-88.

Both of them would thrive in todays NHL. Does Boogaard have ANY skill? What about Laraque? Colton Orr? Aaron Downey? Point proven.

  • let them go, just let them two go.

  • Kocur gave up. Lame

  • Kocur fisted his wife's vagina with that hand

  • Best friends doing their job. I'm sure they always joked when they both played with Detroit who'd win in a fight. Kocur wasn't going as hard as he could have and Probie just lost his cool over Tikkanens shit. They probably laugh about it over beers nowadays.

  • Doubtful Probert is fucked up

  • i would not doubt that he is fucked up now..i mean come on, be realistic people. what the fuck IS Bob Probert doing these days???

  • bizzangle- saw an interview with him recently, he's married with 4 kids in belle river (near windsor, on) and admitted to still drinking in the interview but not doin the sniff, however he did KO a cop in windsor 3 years ago, but the cops dropped it (hometown hero)

  • LOL

Tikanen startin shit and then nowhere to be found

  • kocur held up after he landed the first two good shots... watch the slow mo. bruise brothers goin' at it. nice.

  • sorry, proby got the first then kocur lands two good ones. fists of stone vs. the best enforcer EVER!

  • Spot on brother! Sam needs to stop wearing his wife's underwear and grow a set. "Doesn't help the league" - STFU and go back to announcing Ice Dancing or Curling, you nancy boy.

  • Probert = Best heavyweight enforcer ever

Kocur = Hardest single punch ever

  • I agree, but Probert gets the win here.

  • What about Brown ? the guy smashed the shit out of Grimson

  • @wings1again Add Domi to that list "Hardest head ever" xD He got punched a billion times during his career and still stood :) But your list is pretty accurate though :)

  • so i want some opinions. who would u want on your side. probey or kocur?

  • Probert.

  • Probert

  • two of the baddest boys ever in hockey!!

  • The Bruise Brothers toe-to-toe!

  • Probert and Kocur, two of the best from the 80's and 90's. Loved them when they played for the Red Wings and wish they could have retired together. Nobody messed with the Wings when they played together.

  • At 1:12, "I don't know if this helps the league at all"..No it doesn't Sam". What?! Give me a break... To quote Mickey Redmond, "Well Ken, I never seen a fan leave a rink because of a fight!...There rockin' here at the Joe tonight!"

  • totally agree to that!

  • @hz49k7 yeah I couldn't agree more. When the NHL was big, a lot of people frowned on fighting but now they could definitely use some more of it. They could also use ESPN as well...

  • @hz49k7 @hz49k7 yeah I couldn't agree more. When the NHL was big, a lot of people frowned on fighting but now they could definitely use some more of it. They could also use ESPN as well...

  • Too bad the linesman jump in to intercept Probert, wanted to see more...

  • seriously, no one has any business even breathing after the punches both of these guys landed. that first hamaker by probert was insanse and kocur shook it off like it was nothing.

  • there were NEVER two tougher guys than these two

  • Yawn. All Kocur could do is hang on. What a puss.

  • LOLLOLLOLLAHAHHAHAHAHAHH WOW PROBERT FAN OVER HERE...but seriously im guessing you missed the part where kocur hit him and probert hung on for dear life

  • how much you wanna bet that kocur and probert made a bet:

loser buys the beer when they go out after

  • Totally agree!

It was a 'show' for the fans.... by two best friends.... who didn't wanna know! Bit of a shame that it 'had' to happen, though! These bles ere '''above''' showmanship??!!

  • kocur and probert were two of the best ever. the real deal. but this fight was a farce. they took it easy on each other. it is so obviously fake. first and only time for both guys, though.

  • Probert was the king, he could do anything he wanted and no one could do anything about it... he could lay out a goalie and what would happen to him

  • According to Bob, these two had much better fights deciding on who was going to do the dishes that night after dinner lol.

  • Damn linesman....Gotta call it a draw.

  • Decision: Kocur

  • GO REDWINGS!!!!!!

  • COKEHEADbob and Cement-head! The "BREWS" brothers, NHLs reigning ALCOHOLICS! Bwaaahahahahaaaa....l

  • Win Kocur.

  • no way. none of them got a decent hit in.

  • kocur threw hammers

  • overrated ?? no. ridiculous. Koco hit harder than Proby, no doubt. probert had better stamina in a big scrum, was meaner, but if Joey tagged you clean ?? lights are going the fuck out. They were BOTH great fighters... probably 2 of the best in the history of the league.

  • i think probert is the only one who could take that brutal right hander that kocur threw, but you are right., look how fucking mad probert was after when he was about to get started, for me its porbert as the greatest fighter then kocur. both are my favourites.

  • If these two would have gotten loose it would have been historic. My two favs.

  • mixed feelings cause i like both guys.i'd give the edge to kocur, but both guys are tough.

  • Being a Detroit fan, it's hard to pick a favorite, but I have to agree with you. They didn't call him the Jackhammer for nothing! Best and hardest punch in Hockey! Probably more 1 punch knockouts than anybody.

  • "This doesn't help the league at all" See...it's comments like this that drive me crazy...listen to the CROWD, their losing it!!! Probert and Kocur my god man!

  • was that chris benoit fighting probert?...

  • <
