the only thing I really struggle with is this whole 100% thing - you're gay or you're straight, you're entirely one thing or the other? Really? C'mon food preference isn't that simple, music preference isn't that simple and you're expecting something as complex as human sexuality to be? No, no way. There are no straight lines in nature.
I persobally feel that it is a choice. Not that gay is a bad choice but it is. I choose to be straight everyday. I am attracted to females so there for I choose to be straight. Just like if a gay finds himself to be attracted to another guy he is choosing to be gay. Like I said nothing is wrong with it but it is a choice
@msbeightle You're an idiot. For you to choose to be straight you would've had to have made the choice to be attracted to females and not males. At one stage did you make a conscious decision to like women instead of men? Or was it an attraction that came naturally? I expect the latter, and therefore have to ask the question.... when did you make a choice?
@msbeightle But attraction is physical. You don't choose who you are attracted to. When you think about how attractive a woman is, that isn't because you have decided to notice her attractiveness, you just do because that is natural for you. It's the same for gay people.
I am gay, I don't think i chose this, on the same hand i know that some do, I think that many people have a a hard time understanding that gay has nothing to do with sex... if this is puzzling to you than do yourself and others a favor and understand that there is more than one way to get to a value.... example..... 2+2=4, however 1+3=4.... do you see my point? who ever said that life is any less simple?
Morality aside, premise of, “If being straight isn't a choice, neither is being gay," is flawed. If we assume being heterosexual is natural & being homosexual is unnatural, it's akin 2 your beating heart. You don't choose 4 your heart 2 beat (natural function), but U CAN choose 2 make your heat stop beating unnaturally by taking your own life. Your beating heart & your sexuality R functions of U; U don't choose how they function naturally, but U can cause them 2 function unnaturally (being gay).
@wonderless2686 Your first problem starts with the words "If we assume" because if we assume, we could be wrong. There are so many species in nature that engage in homosexuality the only real anomaly is that humans are the only species to condemn anyone for it. when gay people say it isn't a choice for them, what makes you disbelieve that?
@maverik713 You could take the assumption out of the equation though and my parallel still stands. Heterosexuality not being a choice doesn't mean homosexuality isn't a choice. There are many species in nature that eat their young too. Will you be justifying that next?
@wonderless2686 You didn't answer my first question(when gay people say it isn't a choice for them, what makes you disbelieve that?) so please do that.
Also, your comparison fails because two consenting adults engaging in sex is not at all the same as an adult eating a newborn.
@maverik713 Believe it or not, just like humans are capable of immoral sexual acts, they're also capable of *gasp* lying (even to themselves). And consenting has nothing to do with the point. Your appeal was to what other animals do, not what other animals consent to. If the point you're driving at is that they're not harming anyone, that would be subjective to your opinion of what they're doing to themselves (and those around them) psychologically and physically.
My question would be: "Does anybody make a 'single point in time choice' regarding sexuality and identity or does sexuality and identity involve a life-long series of choices and convictions? I don't believe that any of us--gay or straight--are victims of fate. That being said 'belief' is not 'science' and there is no real persuasive science to direct us yet--just as there is no 'science' determining congenital kleptomania.
i've always thought people were born gay or straight but never once thought to ask the question "when did you choose to be straight?"...never had an issue with homosexuality and have always thought myself as accepting of everyone but this vid shows there's still a lot to learn and a lot of questions to ask
This interviewer is being a tool. People are giving him decent answers and he's just asking them when they chose to be straight. He wanted to make some sort of point but it just being a twat. No one person is like another. I have gay friends who feel they were born gay and others who felt like it was a choice for them as they had been with women before.
@myloveispuke "others who felt like it was a choice for them as they had been with women before."
Uh, yeah, they were born liking men and women(read: bisexual) and they chose to stick with the gender they liked better. Sexuality is not a choice, what you do with it is. Like many things in life.
@Sirrahlala You're dumb kid. Everyone's different. What about a girl who was molested and sticks with women because of distrust for men? Was she born gay? Or a man who has a penis so large sex with a women is impossible (it's happened seriously o_O).
@myloveispuke Real nice. If man with the overly large penis just wants to get off, his preference for women remains, it's simply impractical because he hasn't met the "right" woman yet. If he truly enjoys sex with men, he was never simply straight. The molested woman was traumatized, but there is nothing to prove she wouldn't have been bisexual in the absence of trauma, only that her trauma now excludes one gender. You're making assumptions when the clearest and sensible answer is bisexuality.
@Sirrahlala What I'm trying to say is sexuality can be a choice, or it's something you can be born with. Everyone's different. I feel like this whole "Born Gay v.s Influenced" is all shit. It's a huge circular argument that's almost impossible to prove one way or another. All I know is I have gay friends who say they were born/ chose to be gay. To just white wash it and say "Well they're bisexual guess you'll never know for sure durrr" makes you seem retarded.
@myloveispuke relax. he asked them questions and they answered them honestly. he got them to be a little more introspective about themselves an the world they live in. there's nothing wrong with that!
@AshyMishyMashy Well you can take that b.s and throw it out the window little lady. This guy is belaboring a point, beating a dead horse. If he listened he's have heard most of these people saying everyone's different. Instead he made a 3 minute video of confused people, so he can sit back and feel good about his merry self.
@myloveispuke i would respond to you're comments with my own thoughts. however, i don't respond to people who use derogatory sexist terms such as "little lady" to address me. the fact that you choose that phrase, already shows that you view yourself as superior and it also shows your ignorance, so im not even going to bother with you. have a nice day!
@AshyMishyMashy well in any case I call most women little lady, its not intended as an insult. This guy is part of the problem perpetuating the argument, it can't be proven finitely.
@dismael2010 Well the logical question is - Do you really think anyone would CHOOSE to be a pedophile? Obviously they're born that way too. But if the aim of your question was to liken pedophilia to homosexuality, then you of course mustn't forget the huge difference: a ("practicing") pedophile undeniably harms a child, at least psychologically if nothing else, while two gays are adult people in a reciprocal relationship that harms no one. That's why the first is outlawed while the second is not.
@C9Zazzle Man without penis does not = girl. Man without penis.... = a man without a penis. Obviously. Your argument lacks logic. I'm assuming from your unintelligible comment that you mean men are born and for some reason emasculate themselves, 'becoming female.' This is not only incorrect, it lacks any kind of evidentiary support. To dumb myself down so you can understand me, gay men are born that way, they don't choose it. And, as a girl, I can tell you that gay men are not female.
I think the deeper question is..... Is it anyone's business and what difference does it make? Keep your opinions and beliefs to yourself and live your own life and if you are too busy asking questions about other's lives...... You need to get a life!!!!!!
"Time makes more converts than reason" - Thomas Paine. The most important thing anyone can do is to encourage people to think about the issue and have them relate experience with beliefs and over time they will start to see on their own. So getting angry and frustrated over an issue is sometimes counter-productive. Be the voice of reason and patience rather than one of aggressiveness.
Maybe. With the difference that their objects of desire are no adults (or of same age). There were some discussions about legalizing artificial childporn by photoshop. That way the society could statisfy this fetish without criminalising the pedos unless they force children. But then it would be abuse and not pedophilia as a charge.
In Chinese Medicine, homosexuality is just a energy blockage in the mind. When you break everything down to the smallest particle, everything is energy. Thus any problem or ailment is just a blockage of the normal flow of energy.
@InnocenceExperience Well, I would say yes, but the thing is though, when you generate a energy flow, it will naturally go to the places it needs too the most. So for example, if someone was homosexual, but also on the verge of a heart attack. The Chi would go to the heart first and clear that blockage, or whatever it is.
Since people have so many blockages, it would probably never get to the actual homosexual blockage. Unless that person was doing very very intense training, and started young-
@InnocenceExperience -but then you could say if they started at a young age (My Master started at age 4) they would never develop the blockage to begin with.
@TheDrunkenMantis so out of interest what is the Chinese attitude to homosexuality? and how are they treated in China? are you Chinese or a westerner who does Tai Chi?
@InnocenceExperience Unfortunately I am just a Westerner :P So I can't really comment on China's view of treatment. But the Chinese Government tried to get rid of all the Chinese Masters in the country after the fall of the Southern Shaolin Temple (If my memory serves me correctly). So I doubt they have the same view on it as other people.
But it's not really something that needs to be treated, like I said, alot of things take priority before it.
@pyrewulf In Chinese medical terms it is. And don't get me wrong, I don't mind homosexual people, I don't think they are "wrong" in what they do. But in on a deep, energy level, it is a blockage.
Not to mention when two gay people have sex, the energy exchange is not as good as with two healthy people of the opposite sex. Men and Woman have Yin and Yang Energy, so it's unhealthy on a energy level, Yin + Yin < Yin + Yang.
@TheDrunkenMantis you're contradicting your point by saying they aren't negative and then prove why they are negative. Who the fuck are you to assign values to Yin and Yang?
@Chezowan1 Yin and Yang is a expression for two different things to co-exist in harmony. That is what expressions are used for, to explain things.
I am not contradicting myself, it may be wrong in a deep energy level, and I believe it is. But I say it's not wrong because they are just acting how they are programmed. You can't say someone is wrong, or "negative" for doing that is natural for them.
This is mostly a limitation of the English language. Negative does not necessarily mean bad.
Fucking derp at that last woman. "oh yes, I'm so confidant that gay people choose to be gay. At the same time I'm confidant I never chose to be straight."
To anyone posting religion-related comments on this video: God told us to love everyone. God is a loving being. When he says everyone, he means everyone. Gay, straight, bi, trans, queer...it doesn't matter. Try reading the Bible again. And skip any book that tells you that women should be locked up while on their period. Try focusing on the "Love your neighbors" part.
@ThePurpleSnowstorm I'm sorry but if I have to "skip a few books" in a manual for my life because they are filled with condemning gays and females then I'm not going to use that manual at all. If my car manual told me the only way to fix it was to go tell another car that it it's going to break down soon because it's different, I would throw that manual away and find one specific to my car and containing relevant facts to my car. Bibles belong on the shelf right between "Bull shit" and "False".
@DerAntimensch Right, because gay people always hurt others and/or themselves... And the question is if being gay is a choice. It's totally not about noticing.
@DerAntimensch ooooh, wow, congrats, haven't heard that one before. (I actually haven't. It's an interesting thing to say. Doesn't make you less of a dick).
I like the moment people's faces change when they think about the question, 'When did you choose to be straight?' It's interesting to sort of see the wheels turning. Nice video.
@catchersmitt0 Most people are born asexual... I don't often see babies trying to hump one another.
It's a choice based on your surroundings and upbringing. I chose that i was straight the first time i saw an attractive female and felt something for her, and then confirmed it by not having those feelings for men.
But really it's just fitting into the social norm, if being gay was the common thing, my whole surroundings would have changed as a kid and probably led me to be gay.
@PowerfrogsBeotch I think you should look up the meaning to the word asexual man, because you have everything wrong. Babies are not born asexual. People are born with no sexual drive, it is our hormones which control this and are released around puberty. It is at this point people discover if they are straight or gay by observing and responding to internal cues when presented with sexual feelings. It is a no point a choice. People do not say "Hmm, well I could like breasts, or penis...decisions"
@0andrewsmith0 "It is at this point people discover if they are straight or gay by observing and responding to internal cues when presented with sexual feelings."
Having watched a number of coming out videos, it seems like the onset of puberty may only correspond to the sexual portion of it - there is also the emotional and physical attraction, and these can start to manifest at much earlier ages.
@l0gically Yep, looking back, I knew I was gay at around 6. Obviously I had no idea because of lack of knowledge on sexuality at all, but looking back now I can conclude that the signs were there. It wasn't until about 15 that those innate feelings actually started to make sense because the sexual drive kicked in and I could relate things a bit better.
@0andrewsmith0 By asexual i meant that they're not sexual at all, not caring about sex. So yeah i guess no sexual drive works better.
And our hormones drive us towards populating the planet, that's why they're there. It's through social connections that people become gay. Naming it a 'choice' is pretty unfair, because really it has very little to do with an original choice, it's all through your surroundings as i mentioned previously.
In the nature vs nurture argument, nature rarely wins.
@PowerfrogsBeotch What 'social connections' did my brother and I (brought up at the same age, time, place, house, school, opportunities with the same toys, games, friends, interests etc.) experience so dramatically differently that caused me to know I was gay at around age 6 (obviously not knowing what it meant back then, but on reflection, realising I knew from around that age)?
@0andrewsmith0 A huge amount. Even as siamese twins you'd both live completely different lives and experience completely different things to alter who you are now. It's also said that the younger brother is more often gay, due to being around their older brothers alot. (I don't really know how that connection works, but theres plenty evidence towards it.)
Then you have rebellion. You're gay because others are not and you want to be different.
@PowerfrogsBeotch Younger brothers are more likely to be gay because of hormonal changes in the mother during gestation over the course of having multiple children. Has nothing to do with growing up around their brothers.
@PowerfrogsBeotch Wait, hold up. Let me get this right. You actually think I'm gay because "others are not and I want to be different?" Holy shit, you really do have some problems don't you? I can't listen to anything you have to say anymore because I know what type of brain it's coming from. That's pretty fucked up man, I didn't think people still believed that crap. Let me guess, you chose to be straight because other people are and you wanted to be the same? Don't talk to me anymore, 'tard.
@0andrewsmith0 I'm not saying that is the reason you are, but from a human perspective, that IS one of many reasons some people choose to announce themselves as gay. I don't see why you're so defensive and repulsed by the idea.
Saying 'u dumb' doesn't really help your case. If you could post a REASON why it's obviously not the reason for anyone ever to become homosexual, that would be fine. But you can't, because it is.
As for the last question. Pretty much. That's how most humans work.
@catchersmitt0 Right on the first point. Kinda wrong on the second (imo) Free will doesn't exist. Bigotry, while not a biological trait, is a result of upbringing, coupled with the tendency to weigh unfavorable experiences more than favorable ones.
@tkmania44 You are soooooooooooo wrong with this statement. Keep making excuses my friend but remember you will be held accountable before God one day for the choices you make. Oh, and by the way, don't keep lying to support your agenda and bash heterosexuals!!!!
being gay is biological and natural. you don't choose the color of your skin, you don't choose your blood type and you don't choose your sexual orientatoin--nature chose it for you. another way to frame it is there are more than two genders.
Well I would say that for many sexuality is something you just have, one orientation or the other.
On the other hand while it's obviously hard to be sure I would say at absolute least I would have taken longer to become truly asexual if I had not wanted to. Perhaps I would have been straight instead (I think I remember finding women attractive sometime back in puberty). What I know is now I am asexual and while I understand what videos like this are for, what you choose to be also has merit.
@Atlanta23410 Did you choose to be straight? No one is born straight . . . you're just born to be who you are . . . then labeled by people that judge you by their standards. It's very ignorant of you to state that people choose to be homosexual like pedophiles choose to molest children, because with that sick logic it must be true that police officers choose to .shoot people like murderers choose to shoot people. You make no sense. Being who you are is not a choice it's just a fact of life!
Please show some evidence for this. If you're so confident in your answer, I bet you have looked at some sort of study. Please show it to us, because I am not convinced by your argument that sexuality is a choice.
You truly think because you ask ignorant people this question and they can't respond to it that somehow this makes your point valid? You can keep supressing the truth as much as you want but acting upon your homosexual desires are wrong!
@runfayalife You have to be fool to believe people are born gay! I am heterosexual because it is written in the fabric of my DNA as well as everybody elses. It's a NATURAL thing like breathing, tasting, touching.................
They have not proven that people are born gay to this day and they will not prove it in the future!! So you can keep on using this excuse till your blue in the face but the fact remains it is sinful!

the only thing I really struggle with is this whole 100% thing - you're gay or you're straight, you're entirely one thing or the other? Really? C'mon food preference isn't that simple, music preference isn't that simple and you're expecting something as complex as human sexuality to be? No, no way. There are no straight lines in nature.

What about those who are born straight and turn gay?
DefyTheTyrantz 2 months ago
I persobally feel that it is a choice. Not that gay is a bad choice but it is. I choose to be straight everyday. I am attracted to females so there for I choose to be straight. Just like if a gay finds himself to be attracted to another guy he is choosing to be gay. Like I said nothing is wrong with it but it is a choice
msbeightle 2 months ago
@msbeightle You're an idiot. For you to choose to be straight you would've had to have made the choice to be attracted to females and not males. At one stage did you make a conscious decision to like women instead of men? Or was it an attraction that came naturally? I expect the latter, and therefore have to ask the question.... when did you make a choice?
engymaster 2 months ago
@msbeightle But attraction is physical. You don't choose who you are attracted to. When you think about how attractive a woman is, that isn't because you have decided to notice her attractiveness, you just do because that is natural for you. It's the same for gay people.
MsSakuralotus 1 month ago

Your beating heart & your sexuality R functions of U; U don't choose how they function naturally, but U can cause them 2 function unnaturally (being gay).
wonderless2686 2 months ago
@wonderless2686 Your first problem starts with the words "If we assume" because if we assume, we could be wrong. There are so many species in nature that engage in homosexuality the only real anomaly is that humans are the only species to condemn anyone for it. when gay people say it isn't a choice for them, what makes you disbelieve that?
maverik713 2 months ago
@maverik713 You could take the assumption out of the equation though and my parallel still stands. Heterosexuality not being a choice doesn't mean homosexuality isn't a choice. There are many species in nature that eat their young too. Will you be justifying that next?
wonderless2686 2 months ago
@wonderless2686 You didn't answer my first question(when gay people say it isn't a choice for them, what makes you disbelieve that?) so please do that.
Also, your comparison fails because two consenting adults engaging in sex is not at all the same as an adult eating a newborn.
maverik713 2 months ago
@maverik713 Believe it or not, just like humans are capable of immoral sexual acts, they're also capable of *gasp* lying (even to themselves). And consenting has nothing to do with the point. Your appeal was to what other animals do, not what other animals consent to. If the point you're driving at is that they're not harming anyone, that would be subjective to your opinion of what they're doing to themselves (and those around them) psychologically and physically.
wonderless2686 2 months ago

My question would be: "Does anybody make a 'single point in time choice' regarding sexuality and identity or does sexuality and identity involve a life-long series of choices and convictions? I don't believe that any of us--gay or straight--are victims of fate. That being said 'belief' is not 'science' and there is no real persuasive science to direct us yet--just as there is no 'science' determining congenital kleptomania.

This interviewer is being a tool. People are giving him decent answers and he's just asking them when they chose to be straight. He wanted to make some sort of point but it just being a twat. No one person is like another. I have gay friends who feel they were born gay and others who felt like it was a choice for them as they had been with women before.
myloveispuke 2 months ago
@myloveispuke "others who felt like it was a choice for them as they had been with women before."
Uh, yeah, they were born liking men and women(read: bisexual) and they chose to stick with the gender they liked better. Sexuality is not a choice, what you do with it is. Like many things in life.
Sirrahlala 2 months ago
@Sirrahlala You're dumb kid. Everyone's different. What about a girl who was molested and sticks with women because of distrust for men? Was she born gay? Or a man who has a penis so large sex with a women is impossible (it's happened seriously o_O).
myloveispuke 2 months ago
@myloveispuke Real nice. If man with the overly large penis just wants to get off, his preference for women remains, it's simply impractical because he hasn't met the "right" woman yet. If he truly enjoys sex with men, he was never simply straight. The molested woman was traumatized, but there is nothing to prove she wouldn't have been bisexual in the absence of trauma, only that her trauma now excludes one gender. You're making assumptions when the clearest and sensible answer is bisexuality.
Sirrahlala 2 months ago
@Sirrahlala What I'm trying to say is sexuality can be a choice, or it's something you can be born with. Everyone's different. I feel like this whole "Born Gay v.s Influenced" is all shit. It's a huge circular argument that's almost impossible to prove one way or another. All I know is I have gay friends who say they were born/ chose to be gay. To just white wash it and say "Well they're bisexual guess you'll never know for sure durrr" makes you seem retarded.

dismael2010 2 months ago 2
@dismael2010 Well the logical question is - Do you really think anyone would CHOOSE to be a pedophile? Obviously they're born that way too. But if the aim of your question was to liken pedophilia to homosexuality, then you of course mustn't forget the huge difference: a ("practicing") pedophile undeniably harms a child, at least psychologically if nothing else, while two gays are adult people in a reciprocal relationship that harms no one. That's why the first is outlawed while the second is not.

In Chinese Medicine, homosexuality is just a energy blockage in the mind. When you break everything down to the smallest particle, everything is energy. Thus any problem or ailment is just a blockage of the normal flow of energy.
TheDrunkenMantis 2 months ago
@TheDrunkenMantis has anyone ever been 'cured'?
InnocenceExperience 2 months ago
@InnocenceExperience Well, I would say yes, but the thing is though, when you generate a energy flow, it will naturally go to the places it needs too the most. So for example, if someone was homosexual, but also on the verge of a heart attack. The Chi would go to the heart first and clear that blockage, or whatever it is.
Since people have so many blockages, it would probably never get to the actual homosexual blockage. Unless that person was doing very very intense training, and started young-
TheDrunkenMantis 2 months ago
@InnocenceExperience -but then you could say if they started at a young age (My Master started at age 4) they would never develop the blockage to begin with.
So it's somewhat hard to say :P
TheDrunkenMantis 2 months ago
@TheDrunkenMantis so out of interest what is the Chinese attitude to homosexuality? and how are they treated in China? are you Chinese or a westerner who does Tai Chi?
InnocenceExperience 2 months ago
@InnocenceExperience Unfortunately I am just a Westerner :P So I can't really comment on China's view of treatment. But the Chinese Government tried to get rid of all the Chinese Masters in the country after the fall of the Southern Shaolin Temple (If my memory serves me correctly). So I doubt they have the same view on it as other people.
But it's not really something that needs to be treated, like I said, alot of things take priority before it.
TheDrunkenMantis 2 months ago
@TheDrunkenMantis lol I actually meant how do people treat them as in act towards them. & do people accept them etc.
InnocenceExperience 2 months ago
@InnocenceExperience Ahhh, haha, my bad. I have no clue about that :O
TheDrunkenMantis 2 months ago
@TheDrunkenMantis But what you're saying hinges upon the judgement that homosexuality is an ailment, but it's not.
pyrewulf 2 months ago
@pyrewulf In Chinese medical terms it is. And don't get me wrong, I don't mind homosexual people, I don't think they are "wrong" in what they do. But in on a deep, energy level, it is a blockage.
Not to mention when two gay people have sex, the energy exchange is not as good as with two healthy people of the opposite sex. Men and Woman have Yin and Yang Energy, so it's unhealthy on a energy level, Yin + Yin < Yin + Yang.
TheDrunkenMantis 2 months ago
@TheDrunkenMantis you're contradicting your point by saying they aren't negative and then prove why they are negative. Who the fuck are you to assign values to Yin and Yang?
Chezowan1 2 months ago
@Chezowan1 Yin and Yang is a expression for two different things to co-exist in harmony. That is what expressions are used for, to explain things.
I am not contradicting myself, it may be wrong in a deep energy level, and I believe it is. But I say it's not wrong because they are just acting how they are programmed. You can't say someone is wrong, or "negative" for doing that is natural for them.
This is mostly a limitation of the English language. Negative does not necessarily mean bad.

ThePurpleSnowstorm 4 months ago
@ThePurpleSnowstorm I'm sorry but if I have to "skip a few books" in a manual for my life because they are filled with condemning gays and females then I'm not going to use that manual at all. If my car manual told me the only way to fix it was to go tell another car that it it's going to break down soon because it's different, I would throw that manual away and find one specific to my car and containing relevant facts to my car. Bibles belong on the shelf right between "Bull shit" and "False".

catchersmitt0 5 months ago 97
@catchersmitt0 Agreed. The only choice when it comes to sexual orientation is whether you can accept other people's or not.
emcitement 4 months ago
@catchersmitt0 Most people are born asexual... I don't often see babies trying to hump one another.
It's a choice based on your surroundings and upbringing. I chose that i was straight the first time i saw an attractive female and felt something for her, and then confirmed it by not having those feelings for men.
But really it's just fitting into the social norm, if being gay was the common thing, my whole surroundings would have changed as a kid and probably led me to be gay.
PowerfrogsBeotch 2 months ago
@PowerfrogsBeotch I think you should look up the meaning to the word asexual man, because you have everything wrong. Babies are not born asexual. People are born with no sexual drive, it is our hormones which control this and are released around puberty. It is at this point people discover if they are straight or gay by observing and responding to internal cues when presented with sexual feelings. It is a no point a choice. People do not say "Hmm, well I could like breasts, or penis...decisions"
0andrewsmith0 2 months ago
@0andrewsmith0 "It is at this point people discover if they are straight or gay by observing and responding to internal cues when presented with sexual feelings."
Having watched a number of coming out videos, it seems like the onset of puberty may only correspond to the sexual portion of it - there is also the emotional and physical attraction, and these can start to manifest at much earlier ages.
l0gically 2 months ago
@l0gically Yep, looking back, I knew I was gay at around 6. Obviously I had no idea because of lack of knowledge on sexuality at all, but looking back now I can conclude that the signs were there. It wasn't until about 15 that those innate feelings actually started to make sense because the sexual drive kicked in and I could relate things a bit better.
0andrewsmith0 2 months ago 2
@0andrewsmith0 By asexual i meant that they're not sexual at all, not caring about sex. So yeah i guess no sexual drive works better.
And our hormones drive us towards populating the planet, that's why they're there. It's through social connections that people become gay. Naming it a 'choice' is pretty unfair, because really it has very little to do with an original choice, it's all through your surroundings as i mentioned previously.
In the nature vs nurture argument, nature rarely wins.
PowerfrogsBeotch 2 months ago
@PowerfrogsBeotch What 'social connections' did my brother and I (brought up at the same age, time, place, house, school, opportunities with the same toys, games, friends, interests etc.) experience so dramatically differently that caused me to know I was gay at around age 6 (obviously not knowing what it meant back then, but on reflection, realising I knew from around that age)?
0andrewsmith0 2 months ago 3
@0andrewsmith0 A huge amount. Even as siamese twins you'd both live completely different lives and experience completely different things to alter who you are now. It's also said that the younger brother is more often gay, due to being around their older brothers alot. (I don't really know how that connection works, but theres plenty evidence towards it.)
Then you have rebellion. You're gay because others are not and you want to be different.
I don't see how being born gay is possible.
PowerfrogsBeotch 2 months ago
@PowerfrogsBeotch Younger brothers are more likely to be gay because of hormonal changes in the mother during gestation over the course of having multiple children. Has nothing to do with growing up around their brothers.
pyrewulf 2 months ago
@PowerfrogsBeotch Wait, hold up. Let me get this right. You actually think I'm gay because "others are not and I want to be different?" Holy shit, you really do have some problems don't you? I can't listen to anything you have to say anymore because I know what type of brain it's coming from. That's pretty fucked up man, I didn't think people still believed that crap. Let me guess, you chose to be straight because other people are and you wanted to be the same? Don't talk to me anymore, 'tard.
0andrewsmith0 2 months ago
@0andrewsmith0 I'm not saying that is the reason you are, but from a human perspective, that IS one of many reasons some people choose to announce themselves as gay. I don't see why you're so defensive and repulsed by the idea.
Saying 'u dumb' doesn't really help your case. If you could post a REASON why it's obviously not the reason for anyone ever to become homosexual, that would be fine. But you can't, because it is.
As for the last question. Pretty much. That's how most humans work.
PowerfrogsBeotch 2 months ago
@catchersmitt0 Right on the first point. Kinda wrong on the second (imo) Free will doesn't exist. Bigotry, while not a biological trait, is a result of upbringing, coupled with the tendency to weigh unfavorable experiences more than favorable ones.

@yoursola Did you even watch the video, and get the frickin' point? When did you choose to be straight? How's that different from gay people?
