I just bought an 03 thundercat (YZF600R) with 1,500 miles on it for $2,000 and my buddy has a 650R kawasaki and I leave him from first gear and at the end of the quarter he is 5 bike lengths behind so I think its more than 1 second between them but its a 4 cylinder v.s a twin so who can blame the kawi I started out on a ninja 250 & 500E and those 2 along with the 650R are way more comfortable especially on long rides but you get used to the 600R pretty quick you wanna ride rough try a 92 FZR600
use the camera to time next time just go ahead and film both passes, then go back home and watch the video and use like a stop watch or something better than (iphone ipod touch?) whatever was being used to time it
I understand, You could have beat your meat to some porn in that amount of time, eh? Sorry to have wasted yet more of your alone time by having you read this reply. Just don't tell me how long it takes this time.
..Yeah i agree about the cats comfort,i am thinking about getting some bar risers for mine,i will have to tuck down a bit more when shes screaming up to 160 though!
Thundercats rule! I had one with a Yosh pipe and it was faster all the way to 11000 rpm than a new R6 and it was comfortable on the street. it was my first bike and after a few months scraping my knee in a corner was no problem. i would reccomend this bike to anyone who is coordinated enough to ride!
Yeah, I didnt like it at first either. I wanted something that sounded like a crotch rocket, not a small cruiser. I got used of it but i changed the muffler and made it sound deeper. Still wasnt what i was looking for. Some people do like that sound. i didnt, lol. Still the bike's handling and comfort is great.
Yeah the 650r is a fun bike. It's comfort in the bars and the seat is ideal for long trips. It handles curves rather well too. It was my first bike. I now have a 08 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6r. I will be putting out some footage of my new bike. I miss my 650r. ZX6r has no comfort. More than 2 hours of riding kills my butt and wrists. Just fast and takes cornering and curves a lot better.
yes it is a great bike for first time riders. It has a comfortable position with soft seat and lifted handle bars so riding it makes you feel relaxed and the handling makes you want to rip through the curves. Just be careful
ur spot on dude im buying a yzf600r 1997 model on the weekend and after sitting on heaps of bikes that look really nice and slik like the R6 gsx600 and zx6r the yzf600r is by far the most comfy and easy to control with the lifted handle bars. i think for afirst bike a sports tourer is the way. im paying 6000 for it with 29000 k's on
Yes it has pretty good torqe. but not that great of top end. It's wierd cause i had the 650r and now i have a zx6r and i cannot do a power wheelie on this zx6r like i did with the 650r. but then the top end on zx6r is great.
yeah with the nice even powerband and ample torque i can just jump on the throttle, dip off it for a fraction of a second, and twist it again and the front end comes right up. i don't usually do it though (hard on the bike and can be dangerous)
650r has more comfort. Being the handle bars are higher and soft gel-like seat. then again the yzf has a bit of a wider seat and is also soft, but handle bars are lower and puts more strain on your wrists.
you should have NO strain on your wrist regaurdless of rideing position your supposed to support your weight with your legs not your arms that can lead to accidental imput on the throttle and or handlebars/clip-ons
I have a 650 r , and I rode my friends r6, different bikes, both are great in there own way, I think io want to trade my 650 for the r6, but for comfort reason im keeping my 650r for now,
LOL yeah, I just learned about comfort. I happened to trade in my 650r and got a 08 Kawasaki Ninja zx6r Its fast with really great conering and handles curves real well and NO COMFORT!!! I can handle 2 hours of riding and I'm done.. It's hard on the wrists and butt. I'll be putting out some footage soon. I also just got a camera mount for my bike and will get some riding footage.
that 650 r sounds nice

It is a great starter bike...But it depends...just dont be stupid on it...it does have power... I started on a gs500...the 650 shifts alot better.

hey man
which bikes more comfortable from the two the 650r or the yzf600r? oh and which ones sportier? like the riding position thanks
N41MUN94 3 years ago
In my opinion the yzf is sportier, but the
650r has more comfort. Being the handle bars are higher and soft gel-like seat. then again the yzf has a bit of a wider seat and is also soft, but handle bars are lower and puts more strain on your wrists.
