  • oh nice..

  • The sad part is. All the kings, emperors, pharaohs, and rulers of ancient times all were infatuated with the idea of immortality. That's how gun powder was discovered in china, on the quests to find a alchemy potion for immortality, unfortunately the emperor poisoned himself. The Elites and billionaires of todays corporate world WILL push for this technology.....the question is however "will they include us to drink the elixir of immortality with them ?" ....

  • The question is really not "do we have the capability for this"...if course we do !! heck we even have the capability right now to eliminate car accidents if we computerized all ours cars to drive itself for us to work. The real question is " will humanity invest their time into building this technological pyramid of transcendence" ? I think that's what Ray Kurzweil is trying to do, he is trying to "create" the desire and "stimulate" the dream so we can invest into this. For he cannot do it alone

  • This should have a 100 million views.

  • what about all the trash that is going into the land

  • kurzweil for president

  • Too many futurists ignore the fact that human beings are basically emotional creatures with a calculator on top. You can't just have the calculator (the intellect) because then there would be no will. If you could somehow simulate emotions in machines how you do know they wouldn't end up being just as irrational as human beings. There is no logical path of "progress" that a machine can take. If you give it enough power it will be unpredictable and probably destroy us.

  • So only the ultra rich will have access to this technology?

  • @CtrlRm Well, yes, at first, until the price drops low enough for the masses to afford the new technology. Remember when flat screens came onto the market? They were $15,000 the first year and dropped in price by at least 20% per year, until they became affordable for most people who really want one. Are the ultra rich the only ones with access to AIDS medication, cell phones or computers?

  • @kingwillie206 Yea but why did Flat screens price drop ? trust me, it wasn't because of compassion. You are comparing something that would benefit the corporate money makers with something that will not benefit them. When the Rich Elite have the ability to augment themselves to the point of immortality, they will have no use for us anymore (unless they have compassion) there are 7 billion people on planet now

  • It really would be nice to think there is something more, like we do actually have individual souls.

The day I see a computer draw a really creative picture or make some cool original music , I will realise this reality you scientist people speak of. For now I choose to believe there is something more.

How could a super computer have likes and dislikes that aren't simply programmed or chosen at random?

Reminds me of perpetual motion, and the poor soles dedicated to an impossible task.

  • @TwoTimesJonny

There have been computers created that painted paintings, drew drawings, and composed music. Lol.

  • @cardinalbaseballer5 Back your ridiculous claims up with some proof in the form of links or get the hell out of here my time wasting friend

  • @TwoTimesJonny

Lol. Uh. It's really hypocritical to call me "time-wasting," considering what you're doing. And it's also unnecessary to get rude and tell me to "get the hell out." Out of where? My bedroom?

Your original comment was actually irrelevant to the point of the video anyway. Souls and the technological singularity are not mutually exclusive ideas. Are you just mad at science or something? Because science is the reason you have a keyboard and internet.

  • @TwoTimesJonny

And apparently you're too stupid (or maybe just too busy. I can infer from you irritation of me "wasting your time" that you have quite a busy life schedule) to use Google. Articles on the matter are so incredibly easy to find. They are blatantly obvious. Go look instead of bitching to me.

  • @cardinalbaseballer5 BULLSHIT

  • @TwoTimesJonny

Good God, you're an annoying piece of shit. YOU CAN GO LOOK IT UP! IT'S RIGHT FUCKING THERE, you MORON.

  • @cardinalbaseballer5 So after all this, you still haven't backed up your claims with links, merely told me to go and search it. Goodbye grumpy man.

  • @TwoTimesJonny

Because you can't post links in YouTube comments, you dumbass.

  • @cardinalbaseballer5 If you dont know how to add spaces to a link so you can post it on youtube then you my friend, are the dumbass. Now fuck off.

  • @TwoTimesJonny

Lol THAT DOESN'T WORK. Do you not know how to use Google? Seriously. It's not hard to find an article about the very thing you were talking about in the first place. WHICH AGAIN, IS COMPLETELY UNRELATED TO THE VIDEO. Souls? WHAT THE HELL. WHY. HOW ARE SOULS FUCKING RELATED TO THIS YOU MORONIC SACK OF SHIT. GO FUCK YOURSELF.

  • @cardinalbaseballer5 lol @ how angry you are, I feel sorry for you. I have no more time for you whatsoever, end of story.

  • @TwoTimesJonny

Oh, of course. This commenting process is just much too time-consuming for your busy, busy little world. But you didn't realize that until just now..? Good job, smarty.

  • @TwoTimesJonny we're mechanical from a physicist's point of view, and our likes and preferences are indeed random within our genetic framework (being a human). Learning is an unprogrammed phenomenon and computers can do it because it's a natural process (once programmed to learn, they can learn - it's already happened).

  • @DRUNKENFUKCINMASTER if you're gonna be talking like that, then we are just labeling stuff.

we can't get anywhere like that.

  • @DRUNKENFUKCINMASTER a soul has never been proven before. so for now, it doesn't exist.

  • This is very cool, but scary in a way.

  • @2222busdriver new is scary. its in our nature.

  • You just have to live long enough to live forever.

  • The culture creates it's own elimination. The abuse of technology now is at high cost. Technology will be used by the military first. The conditions in the United States operate against the law. If the singularity is equality of machine and man, the result will be criminal.

  • WHAT ARE WE?

  • @Aspanaut Collectively, we are a selfish, destructive, out-of-control species, behaving like a viral plague destroying its host, in our case planet earth's biosphere, and all life dependent on it. I'm not suggesting anyone become a James Bond 007 arch villain though. Hoping for human immortality via tips from a strong AI, isn't going to save us from ourselves. Strong AI will blow past our collective knowledge instantly, and when that happens, it'll say "Get the fuck away from me".

  • its simple guys they will have u in a matrix 200meters bellow the earth tellin u, u will live forever then they will be above, have all the earth for them livin forever the real thing.

  • @kaspinio haha. I bet the Wachowski bros got their idea from the tech singularity theory. I hear ya though, why the hell would a strong AI trust us human beings with anything.

  • in 2005 he wrote in his book: "By the end of this decade, computers will disappear as distinct physical objects, with displays built in our eyeglasses, and electronics woven in our clothing, providing full-immersion visual virtual reality."

it's 2010, my shirt is still 100% cotton. I think senility is near, for our friend Ray. He did good things in his days, but all those pills are doing nothing against the aging of his brain, sadly.

  • The Zeitgeist Movement is the only Group out there that has brought up some Real and Tangible Solutions to ACTUALLY SOLVE OUR ECONOMICAL, SOCIAL & ECOLOGICAL CRISIS - to know more about it, watch: "Awakening 1/4" (short video) and "Zeitgeist Addendum". Both of them are on YouTube. The SOLUTIONS presented in both videos are already being applied and they have already been proved to work in the short and long run. It's about time to expand/spread it World Wide.

  • @FactualSolutions The Zeitgeist movement doesn't actually tell you what "you" should be doing to see those changes come about though, it doesn't get into the gritty day by day, step by step business that is neccesary for any real change.

  • @BeardedBill86 - Hi there - Well, this is a common doubt newbies have - by the end of Z2 you have 6 tips to "stop supporting the system" - make no mistake, we are on "phase one" of this movement - if you have no clue what that means go to "the zeitgeist movement" on Wiki - there you will check our phases - there are just 3 of them.

Further more, join the movement and your local chapter, they will tell you what is being done in your region to reach a RBE

    take care pal

  • @FactualSolutions TZM goals are admirable, they are also off the radar, otherwise it would be crushed by the plutocracy (& bankers cited in the Zeitgeist Addendum documentary): they will not willingly relinquish their roles as masters over all non-financially independant working class slaves. Whatever strategies TMZ conjures up must be superior to defensive & counter-offensive strats plutocracy-funded scheme tanks dream up. You have the advantage of respecting logic & the scientific method.

  • @birdsterboss - Hi there pal - Thanks for your words - actually, we do have "phases" that we are following right now - so, we are not randomly doing things - we are doing what we have planned to do, worldwide - we have regular meeting online and offline - now in march is coming the Zday worldwide -

Well, all i can say is: join the movement if you identify yourself with it. We have local chapters worldwide, it is hard to not have one near you by now.

    Take care

  • Mike Treder - in his articles for the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies - completely rips Kurzweil's arguments into shreds. The exponential growth of technological progress will be sidetracked by ethical, economic, political and environmental issues.

  • Great thinking!

  • I'd like to know does he have his own channel?

  • @samgee2007

Islam has been practiced for more than a thousand years and what does it have to show for itself?

  • @SNap15 Nothing, its a religion after all.

  • @SNap15 Personal hygiene, the preservation and passing on of roman and greek science and philosophy to Europe(enabled the renaissance) and the beginnings of modern medicine?

  • @SNap15 cool tile in Spain...oh and the ZERO...

  • Whatever!

  • Coolio

  • Yeah you can see this with just GPU's alone. They double in VRAM every year or so and their clocks are greatly increased in Mhz.

The next step is to be able to control our 5 senses with computers so 100% Virtual Reality can be possible...like being a able to touch, smell etc in a game.

Super computers will one day advance human evolution way beyond the natural process.

  • @29Gixxer does he have his own channel?

  • @29Gixxer Religious people will have a field day with that. I can hear those babbling fools already...

  • @29Gixxer I've researched like crazy into this stuff for a while now, and that'll definitely be possible when we can "hijack" signals and replicate desired signals with what I assume will be nanotechnology. The term for what you're describing isn't just virtual reality - it's a step beyond, at simulated reality.
