Iron Maiden playing a live Metallica cover would only result in booooos from the crowd. I think Maiden would love to do a Metallica cover in a gig, because there's a lot of mutual respect between the two bands as there should be between the two biggest metalbands alive.,however the maiden crowd doesn't respect metallica cos most of them are close minded people.
Oh god, I knew it would come to this. I'm a big Maiden fan, I could've been a bigger fan of Metallica, but I like videos like this. I liked it, and hoped to not see any "Maiden rules, Metallica sucks" or the opposite type of comments, but of course they had to be there. Please stop all of this. Metallica isn't really my taste (for some reason) but I have a lot of respect for them. They're not making fun of Iron Maiden at all. Just look at this as a tribute and forget about which is better!

@Maiden4eva1995 That's a little late. I saw them in 1994 in Maryland and that was it. I completely lost interest in this band after that concert. They were there for the Black tour album. I wanted to leave after the 3rd song but ended up being there for about half the show and finally gave up. I went to a Maiden concert in 2008 and they still rock. There's something about Metallica that seems really fake to me. Now that I've master several instruments, I find their music childish.

@hunterhearsthelmsy I love HHH, But the general musicianship of Iron Maiden is much higher than Metallicas. Not to step on anyones opinions, but from a guitarists perspective, I see/ hear that Maiden has a lot more "ideas" when it comes to songwriting and soloing. Just the album Somewhere in Time has more music than almost all Metallica albums put together, yet isnt as long as any of them. Metallica is mostly power chords, chugging, and twiddlies, rinse and repeat, if I do say so myself

@cdn20782 dude im talking about iron maiden that i saw in 2010 final frontier tour. dream theater was their support act. iron maiden sounded AWFUL. i use the to think they were the best band out there till i saw them live =( they are way to old. the triple guitar out sounded bruce's voice. metallica on the other hand i saw in 2008 tuscon and pheonix. they sounded great! heavy and the distinct sound gave me chills. they still have it. maiden unfortunaly doesnt.

@hunterhearsthelmsy I love HHH, But the general musicianship of Iron Maiden is much higher than Metallicas. Not to step on anyones opinions, but from a guitarists perspective, I see/ hear that Maiden has a lot more "ideas" when it comes to songwriting and soloing. Just the album Somewhere in Time has more music than almost all Metallica albums put together, yet isnt as long as any of them. Metallica is mostly power chords, chugging, and twiddlies, rinse and repeat, if I do say so myself

I think Lars is one of the biggest Maidenfan in the world! So why always arguing who´s better ? At the end they´re both great and really important bands for the whole genre! I know people always love to compare and fight about who´s better etc. But there is no better! How can you define "better" when they play different kind of music? Maiden is the best heavy- and Metallica the best thrashmetalband in the world.

I know many supposedly "real Metal fans" don't like MetallicA, but they're a great band for different things they've done.
Iron Maiden have been more consistent and are more talented indeed, if I have to be honest.
But MetallicA have also been inspired by the earliest days of Iron Maiden, so why couldn't they like and play Iron Maiden, even if not the same?
And note, these 2 bands are extremely important to me. They share rank #1 for me.

This is just Metallica beeing Metallica. They don't do stuff like that to humiliate other bands. They do it because they are actually having fun on stage.
