Even then, looks to me like most of those jabs (the few Mike didn't slip) are hitting nothing but glove (i.e., being blocked). I just can't comprehend, based on any possible criteria how Tillman wins 2 of those 3 rounds.

Even when using that criteria, I still don't know how Tillman could have won rounds 1 or 3. He either ended up swinging at air, or Tyson blocked it.

After watching the 2'nd fight I do think Tillman deserved the win there though.

@JunmaiShu ur not an island there. there is debate on both sides but history wins. the main issue 4 tyson is that he had to get inside/force the fight because he is the shorter fighter. he slips,weaves,bobs extremely well but tillman is catching him with quick jabs and moving while tyson attempts to set up. the fact that tyson wouldn't even feel them (because he is rolling and slipping with the shots so most are just grazing him) is irrelevant to the 3 blind mice(judges) scoring the bout.

amatuer boxing is abt points man. As long as that white part of the gloves just taps the opponent it counts just as much as a vicious nockdown. tysons style was made for the pro game not the amateur game thats why he left the amatuers really early. Tillman almost got his head punched into the stands when he fought tyson in the pros

The announcer sounded biased. Tyson "may have" won round 1? May have? Are you kidding me? I wasn't even close. Even without the knock down he won that round. I think he won round 3 too, and the 2'nd could've gone either way.

Unless hitting your opponents glove is a scoring shot in amateur boxing (?), Tillman barely landed anything in this fight. Tyson dodged or blocked almost everything he threw.

Credit to Mike for taking the loss like a man.

@JunmaiShu amateur boxing has had no idea where it wants to go for about 30 years, thus they keep re-inventing the wheel to sustain olympic acceptance (i understand they even call it olympic boxing now) ie they need to make everything look tidy and 'non-violent' so it doesn't scare the politically correct people. tyson types are most definitely NOT what they want. a clean shot is worth 1 point, whether it achieves a kd or would fail to remove a fly from a cow shit.

the peekaboo style is not made for amateur boxing...the judging system shud be as it is in the pros to better prep fighters for the pro game.
