No part five. Got too busy to continue this series. If you got this far, it's just a matter of continuing the same steps over and over. There are many resources online now about Modo and how to/tutorials, this is just an alternative method for starting a car model.
Just had to comment on post before. 3dMAX is SH*T alway has been and will always be. Maya is several orders of magnitude over MAX. You just have to think differently.
Look at all the plugins you need with MAX! Maya has it all.. Autdesk bought them all up, but have done little to improve any of them. If they create XSI for Mac, all will be forgiven.
im a bit dissapointed with maya modeling , 3dsmax is way over maya for modeling and i guess the graphite tool (modeling tool)are quite new in 3dsmax. there is one powerfull and free modeling software name wing3d but you have to learn the shortcut. Modo seem nice to setup working plate unlike 3dsmax where you have to tune some weird bug (tbh 3dsmax is quite bugged and they are old bug). I will probably try modo layout is like adobe soft.C4d is the best for render hdri and fast.
the graphite tool of 3dsmax are pretty awesome , i just tried maya and im a bit deceived about his modling tool and interface , the thing is graphite tool are quite new in 3dsmax . There another soft which is free but discontinued if im remember it wing 3d one of the best one with 3dsmax , i didnt tried modo yet but the layout look is adobe like which i like and the plate are quite easy to setup from what i see , working plate are a bit dodgy to setup in 3dsmax due to some weird texture deform
I would have to say it's one of the easier ones to learn. Probably the only easier is 3DS Max. I have tried to learn Maya, Blender, Houdini, Silo and Cinema 4D. Out of all of those, I would say Max, then Modo, then C4D in that order for a beginner. Also, it will depend on how you prefer to work and also your tolerance for frustration. Modo is becoming more popular and I use Modo and C4D exclusively now for 3D
Please part 5!!!
