Those techniques are very effective ..... I am a kickboxer and a jujutzuka. This shows that Savate is not only a sport , not only ''kickboxing'' , but it is a hand to hand combat system for selfdefense and it is sadly that many people think Savate is only ''french kickboxing'' .....
They think sport Savate is the only aspect of Savate... In 2 or 3 months I will start training in Savate....
Well, duh! It´s from 1930 British newreel film, so don´t expect it to look like modern kickboxing. Look at the boxing style of that era and compare it to current style. Compared to karate of that era, her kicks are way ahead of them, roundkick, spinning kick etc. Karate had just front kick, and maybe sidekick, until Funakoshis son introduced roundkick (mawashigeri) and kicks to the head.
Very interesting. In regards to "old fashioned techniques"... well, it's black and white, in the silent era, so early 20s or older... bound to be less than new age.
Wish my wife was a savateuse, damn sexy I dare say !
