lol at some people claiming it's a sr5 . It's the same thing with the levin . Some people just don't know what they're talking about . You have 2 body shapes , hatch and coupe . Both hatch and coupe can be trueno or levin and ae85 or ae86 .
@roadwarrior001 the bodies look LOOK the same but sr5's are not true ae86's i have a GTS hatch an actual ae86 and its stupid and aggervating to me when people with sr5's swap the motor and say they drive an ae86 when its really just a replica
@brandonx2010 , yea but not all 2dr coupe are sr5's . I have a 2dr coupe and it says ae86 on the papers and on the chassis numbers(VIN) in the car . My previous ae86 was one of the last build in '87 . Some people actually said it's not the real deal because a true ae86 was made in '86 . They obviously didn't do much research because ae86's were made from 83-87 . There so many mistakes made about this car , it's ridiculous sometimes .

@roadwarrior001 yeah and AE86 can be either hatchback or coupe even an SR5 is an AE86, real AE85s were only made in Japan they have a 1.5 SOHC Engine when in the US SR5s have a 1.6 SOHC engine and a GT-S would have a 1.6 DOHC engine i made a research and i realized that :)
damn I want a GTS! even though I dont have alicense yet and this car is older than me, I want one, idc, I will get to try and drive one of these babies one day... if not Ill make sure I meet the drift king, take is '86 and go It's mine now... youll get it back in 10 years... lol
too bad thats only an sr5 body with maybe a twin cam engine ! note on the twin cams the bumpers match the paint not on the sr5 ! ... get a new body !!!
The AE88 in the VIN is a ' USA only ' thing i think. Because all the european GT-S i've seen have AE86 in the VIN.
But in the end, the only thing that really matters is that owner is happy with the car.

@TakA7x1999 In the VIN number, it'll say AEXX. The GT-S Body will be a AE88 and the SR5 will be AE86
