Flu shots are only good for 3 months. So if you get a "regular flu" shot & a "swine flu shot in November, then all immunity benefits from these shots will be gone by February. Flu season typically doesn't start until late January, so you will need to repeat these vaccinations by early February. That is 4 doses of ground up virus (or viral sludge) pumped into your body. Well there is the Attenuated shots and then there are shots containing the dead virus. I would think that the shots containing the dead virus would less of a risk. Guess that all depends on your overall health to begin with. You body has to work hard at fighting new strangers that enter your blood so guess if it is trying to identify those viruses at a line up it would be less risky if they were behind bullet proof glass, well I mean dead virus instead of the live virus.

good question about the flu shot....i have kidney problems and the doctor told me the swine flu would hurt me more then someone with a regular amune system....if you have health problems already i would ask the doctor how it would affect you.....but as for the shot they come out with they only have so many shots they give it to the ones who are at risk of getting more sick and what ever shots are left over they usually give to the elderly....

I'm not going to get this flu shot, but I don't get them as a matter of course. I wish people would stick to the science of these various medical issues, though, and not sensationalize. There is a percentage in the population more physically vulnerable, and it may be better for those people to get the flu shot.

Well, I hope you don't get it, and I sure hope I don't get it. I work in a pharmacy, as you know, and I've seen firsthand folks with the flu and the Swine Flu who have come in to fill prescriptions. I can't see a difference between the flues, they just look equally sick and uncomfortable. I haven't had a flu shot this year, but I do wash my hands often and try to keep a distance from these folks. I don't see any need to panic, but it's common sense to be cautious.

I wouldn't get either one of the shots.... everyone I know who has gotten the flu shot has gotten the flu, and I heard that anyone who has the flu now actually has the swine flu because the normal flu doesn't start getting people until mid nov. so.... yeah! I think there testing this swine flu crap on us to see if it would be a good weapon... but I may just be crazy... all I know is i'm not getting either one of the shots, If I get it, then I get it.

A couple of my friends got Hamthrax (H1N1) & felt better sooner than when sick from the regular flu. I think the whole flu scare is just to increase news ratings.

Nobody can answer that unless you like statistics.

The chance you get killed by a falling plane when getting the shot is higher than actually perishing from the actual shot.

It is like the infamous poison gas missile attacks some years ago on Israel.

All the people that died because of those attacks used their gas masks wrong and died because of that. The rockets only did minor damage but harmed no one.

I bet stress over the flu will kill more people than the flu itself.

Just go to your local Walgreen's pharmacy and they can answer your questions on the matter. They are one of many place administering it. Medical answers don't come on YT they come from doctors.

The only way it won't effect you is if you don't get it. I figure these conspiracy wack nuts have the right to die anyway they like, they do not have the right to kill other person by not having the vac when it is available.

OK - I fail to get my shot, I get sick and then come to shop in the same store you do. I cough on you and your kids in the check out line, you get sick and one of your kids dies because of it.

Not getting the shot does not cause you or anyone to get sick.

I know people that have been confirmed as having H1N1. They got better & no deaths have come about from contact with those individuals. The mortality rate is too low for me to think not having the shot equates death.

In any group there are a number who get sick. This is in part to 1. Placebo, 2. Allergic responses.

Look up how many get sick from the military SE Asia series. It is STILL effective in alleviating deaths.

I can't say how it may affect you adversely, but I will say this. I got the swine flu vaccine through work, and now I want to have sex with IJustine. I never used to want to have sex with IJustine before getting the flu shot, but now I do. Weird, huh?

The two flu shots are for different strains of the Influenza A virus, so it should have no cross-reactivity. Probably. The immune system is weird that way, never say never.
