There was a fire there quite a distance away south of mojave the eagle fire.but I dont know if this is the one. it would have been south east of the crater but in San Diego county and I dont know if that camer could pick it up. the photo you have is a header from a fire though. as well as the rest that show plums they were headers of a fire sad to say though. It is the color of the smoke brown white, Nice catch though =)

@BethWithes Scary! I do video survellience from atop a building and I've seen the smoke. We live in E. Mojave very near Rte 66. I thought there was a problem with the cameras.

@paulkawsek i dont know if that's what we are seeing in these images, but they do show the area cloaked in smokey haze in every direction, and one fiercely burning wildfire (i'm assuming)

Webcam-arama (nice view). There's a good back story on this morning's Vandenberg MM III launch( Wed.03:20 PST),and eventual abort (A.P.wire services)due to an "issue". It seems the prior launch (a couple of weeks back) had an "issue" with the Link-16 remote (an airborne E-6)..."forcing" a hand-off (back to Ca.). This morning's failure has prompted a USAF investigation. Hey, maybe the U.S. Navy "missed" something (in the Pacific Ocean)....like a "USO" interceding the flight test? Any thoughts ???
