I always thought it would have been interesting to see the Mirage in Canadian markings; the 2000 was entered in Canada's eighties' fighter competition, as I recall... although the French later pulled out (I believe they thought Canada had invited them mainly to put pressure on the American aircraft makers). At any rate, only the F-14 (dismissed on account of age and purchase/operating costs) could have competed with the Mirage in the intercept role, and the Mirage was MUCH better multi-role.

ye it's true. mirage 2000-5 mk2 better than block 52, mirage 2000-9 better than block 60 but I don't know about block 70. block 70 has many upgrades and maybe new radar and stealthier frame makes it better.

I like mirage and hope someday I'll see them in my country's airforce.

If comparing them was senseless, I doubt whether it would be done by foreign pilots who have flown both of them. In any event, the Mirage 2000 has actual "kills" of the F-16 to its credit (Greeks versus Turks) whereas the F-16 has never shot down a Mirage III or 2000.

The F18, F16 and Mirage 2000 are all in the same class and NEITHER has the advantage on each other with todays radar and ECM improvements.

I meant a "slow fight" only in relative terms; my understanding being that an F/A-18 would out-maneouver the F-16 at only under 400 knots. The F-16A/C, in any event, is only able to better Mach 2 near the limits of its altitude, and flying virtually clean. The Mirage III & 2000 can do so, throughout most of their altitude range, with a full BVR air-to-air loadout.

I think they should remove the air refueler and make it retractable, for stealth, so the ring on canopy. Single piece would be better. An AESA array, thrust vectoring, no canards, maybe a single piece carbone delta wing, supercruise of course. im not sure if the airinlets are that stealthy either.. perfect place to jam hah? droptank noses as addtional radars. would sur be fun to fly it. too bad shes obsolete abit almost.

Also, do you think that a 4th or 5th generation aircraft has lower RCS than a M200-5 when they carry EFTs and various payload on the wings? Have you calculated the cost and the structural changes of the systems that you suggest? I don't mean to say that it wouldn't be great to apply all of what you say, but everything must be considered on a cost-effective way

gravitational jamming is an effect how radar waves move but i dont have too many info s about it, except that you should learn how to burn through it, if block 60f16 uses Aesa you cant sell an upgrade wiht rdy 2 instead a downgraded rbe2 variant. I think that the payload of 5th generation will be packed ina stealthy cover. its how i woudlve done it.

gravitational jamming is part of a theory explaining the movement of granules (we know how air waves move and how liquids move but we don't know how granules move).A very oversimplified relation of GJ to aerodynamics is the so called "drag". To change engine requires structural changes (because different powers will be exerted on the airframe).
