  • @lanicert quality Oils like coconut oil, Janina oils etc are not moisture blockers like cheap mineral oil. The smoothie is not blocked out completely. If this was the case my hair would be a dry hard mess BC oil doesn't moisturize or soften hair. Putting the smoothie on top helps to soften the hair strand and add sheen. Works for me for 2yrs. I think I'm doing something right.

  • @cookingmomma4609 Send me an email let's chat KinkyCurlyCoilyMe at gmail

  • Lol, sitting here braiding (stretching) my hair with my Curl Enhancing Smoothie and shea butter mix as I watch this vid! I have a question about step 3. If you put the CES on you hair after you've applied the oil, doesn't the oil prevent it from getting into your hair? I love coconut oil too, and have it in my pre-poo as well as Vatika Frosting (coconut oil on crack, lol) mixed into my deep conditioner. But it seems like putting the smoothie on top of coconut oil will prevent absorption. No?

  • First off, love your channel ^^

Second, I am having a problem with my hair growing at different rates. It seems like my hair grows fastest in the middle, but not so much in the back. Do you have any theories on why this is happening and maybe something I can do to get my hair back on the right track?

    Thanks for your help ^^

  • @katoasha02 Hey sis! Did u watch the video?? All your questions were answered.

  • When you use the smoothie, do you apply it on wet or dry hair? I have this product but it has been many times that I wake up and get ready to do my hair and it full of white residue. Do you use it as a moisturizer like put it all over or do you put it on each individual twist. I am currently using the curling souffle it does a great job. help me if you can :-)

  • Its 3am and I'm sitting here watching all of your videos! So informative and thorough! I use your old moisturizing tips and it helped sooo much. By far my fav natural channel :) blessings!

  • @TwinGodesses Awwww...thanks! I hope you didnt spend the whole night watching my videos! u have to rest your body. But i am flattered. Im very happy that my old regimen works for you. It worked for me very well for most of my journey so i know it will keep you moisturized.

  • When I first went natural my girls were 2 yrs old almost 3 and doing the old routine worked, but I was up late and tired. LOL Girl I have tryed so many things to get a routine down and you have just made it simpler for me.

  • @ThickMadame80 awesome!!!

  • @blckmeralz Only on wash days. If my hair starts to feel dry I may spritzer with water and moisturize w the smoothie

  • How often do you do this pampering process? Is it only on wash days? If so, what do you do in between?

  • How come you moisturize with the smoothie after you put on the coconut oil instead of before?

  • @empressm6 I prefer to seal in the water and leave in conditioner with oil, then use the smoothie to soften my hair.

  • @BlakIzBeautyful Okay makes sense. Btw the Smoothie is the business. It has become my staple also regardless of the style I'm trying to achieve. Considering the Design Essentials stretching creme & defining gel because the smoothie doesnt provide hold but I can't do w/out the softness. I'm just curious, do you have a hard time with detangling? 3yrs natural and it's still a struggle for me and causing me some breakage. I do it before I wash, on damp hair bc it's too tangled when it's all wet.

  • Kudos to you!

  • have you ever sealed after using the shea moisture? I've done both but can't tell which is better or which makes more sense lol. What makes you add the shea moisture after your coconut oil?

  • @netferzwife I have to make another batch of my shea butter mix. So until then I won't be using any. :-) I'll have to make some by the spring BC the smoothie causes my hair to frizz up due to the glycerin.

  • hey girlie, so you don't use shea butter anymore to seal your ends?

  • @lynnieluve Every pregnancy is different. You may not shed at all.

  • @lolasolezicy Okie

  • @vicmajorful Have you tried making a shea butter whip? I have the recilpe on mu website. Just google "JenellyBeans Shea Butter KinkyCurlyCoilyMe" and you will see it.

  • Thank you for responding. and congrats on your new arrival! :)

  • @Hair4OType thanks! n ur welcome!

  • Congrats on becoming a new mother, God Bless sis.

  • @IamPeaceIamLove thanks!

  • congrats on the new baby!...Thanks for sharing your moisturizing regimen :)

  • @FrontLaceLady thanks ur welcome

  • *confident in your style you'll look good regardless...(sorry bout the page break... Tryin to type in the iPad) :)

  • @Danijt08 You got that right sis, confidence is the most important factor even when you dont like the style.

  • @Danijt08 You got that right sis, confidence is the most important factor even when you dont like the style.

  • The wild Pin up! I fixed my hair that way just to drop my daughters at daycare and I ended up wearing my hair that way all day! I've learned from watching you that if you are co fide

  • Have you noticed any postpartum shedding yet?

  • @lynnieluve No not yet. I hear everyone is different, some people shed right away, some women shed months later, some women shed when they stop breastfeeding, some shed when they stop taking their prenatals.

I breastfeed, n I take my prenatals, so I may not shed until much much later, or not at all I hope.

  • @BlakIzBeautyful With my son, it started 3 months post. I breastfed and was still taking my prenatals too. I was a permie back then and that was one of the reason I went natural. I'm not looking forward to it this time around. I may just BC again after the shedding stops (it stopped around 9 or 10 nonths post) so I don't have to deal with it. It wasn't fun AT ALL.

  • love your videos i did in of you styles today and literally got compliments all day!

and congrats new mommie.... motherhood is amazing :)

  • @Danijt08 Awwww which style??

    thanks, Im loving it.

  • Interesting your hair looks how mine looks when its twisted up. I tried the Curl Smoothie on my hair and it left residue even when I didn't use alot. Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

  • @lolasolezicy Residue?? You were using it on wet hair right? If you were using it on wet hair, what was on your hair before you put the smoothie on?

  • @BlakIzBeautyful I really cannot remember if I did put some kind of oil on there first. I'll try some coconut or other essential oils and try again!

  • i have a very similar regiment and i don't have a cute bay ...yet the smoothie is great thought

  • @soursop Haha Thats cool. My old regimen was about 5 steps. It did wonders for my hair and I haven't had problems with dryness ever again. The smoothie is the bomb dot com!

  • You look great! Why do you prefer the Mizani over the Knot Today? Just wondering. I use the Knot Today leave in conditioner. I will definitely try the Shea Moisturizer as soon as financially possible though. I've been in the market for a moisturizer. Love, love, love the coconut oil from Traditions - thanks for the tip. Would you call your shea whip recipe a moisturizer or just a styling tool? I made it from your recipe and love it.

  • @Candibear90422 Thanks. I've never used the knot today as a leave in, maybe Ill try it when the Mizani runs out, bc its almost done. The smoothie is very affordable for the amount of product u get. I had 1 jar last me an entire year with regular use, ur $10 will go a loooong way. My Shea butter is both a moisturizer and a styling product just like the smoothie. I use my shea whip and the smoothie as my styling product when I want a softer hold. When I want a firmer hold I put something on top.

  • Wow you shrunk down fast. It took me an entire year to loose the baby weight with all three of my pregnancies. Looking good girl :)

  • @seemyhealthyhair A year???? What?? Ive lost 30lbs of the 50 I gained!!!! Thanks for noticing!

  • Thanks for sharing your insights. It seems as if your hair just exploded to a new dimension of growth. when I started watching your length was the same as mine, but now its just passed to new longer lengths. Are you taking any hair growth vitamin? if yes what are they?

  • @Hair4OType Really?? I feel like my hair has grown normally. I took a multivitamin, vitamin c, folic acid and biotin every day before I got pregnant. Now I just take my prenatal vitamin.

  • thank you for this. I am a mom and I'm always a little skeptical if I am doing my hair right. It feels right for the most part but I feel like I am leaving out a step. I have not been applying leave in conditioner, so I will look into that. I like the curling smoothie but would like something with a creamier texture. What would you suggest? Thanks again. Very helpful!

  • @vicmajorful Definitely get a leave in conditioner, it will do wonders for your hair. You want something creamier then the smoothie?? I dont understand, Maybe "creamier" isn't what you mean, do you mean looser? Thicker? can you clarify for me.

  • @BlakIzBeautyful I guess I feel like the smoothie feels like a smoothie texture. So I would say yeah do you have a suggestion for a thinker product. I like the ingredients in the smoothie and that is mainly why I use it but the feel of it would be better (to me personally) if it was thinker. We have similar hair types and I love when you used the Ms. Jessie's "baby Butter"? I think its called. So I would like something with the ingredients of the smoothie but the feel of the baby butter.

  • Two thumbs up for Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. It is the only thing I found so far that quenches my thirsty hair!

  • @broyale7 I love it! But girrrrl in the summer I can't use it on my twists because the glycerin causes my hair to swell up too much.

  • Hi, can you please clarify something for me. I've heard other natural beauties on youtube say oil (any) is a sealant, and should be used AFTER the moisture... if you use the oil BEFORE the moisturizer, does it still get absorbed in the hair shaft.

  • @LuvmyNaturalhair4eva I've always believed that the oil is best used if its seals the water and leave in conditioner in your hair. the moisturizer softens the hair, the oil can't do that.

  • @LuvmyNaturalhair4eva For my hair, I do what you say. Oil block the access of the moisture to the hair so I moisturize before i seal my hair ^^

  • @littlemadeline1 how nice of you...

  • coconut oil dries the hell out of my hair no matter how little i use.

  • @DestinyAlready really? luckily for you theres tons of other oils for you to use.

  • @tabbyshauna Youre welcome

  • @SohoChic4 Yep it is a sealant. So it seals in my water n leave in. Moisturizers r to be used on top of oil.

  • Thanks for the video! Very informative!

  • so beautiful!

  • Isn't coconut oil a sealant? Why do you use your moisturizer after the coconut oil? p.s Congrats on becoming a new mommy!! I know this is an exciting time in your life <3

  • @BlkIzBeautyful I found it finally. Uploaded my first video. It's......off my mobile phone lol

  • @BlakIzBeautyful Thank You :) I will try again.

  • @BrownSugar6597 Let me know if you still dont see it.

  • What is your hair type?

  • @waaf25 4b

  • It's going great loving my hair.... Enjoying this journey!!!! Congrats on your bundle of joy and stay blessed!!!!!!

  • @kailaskurls thats great. We all should love our hair and enjoy our journey. Thanks so much!

  • Thank you so much for making the video 😊. I really appreciate it! I absolutely love Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, it's so amazing! I was a little skeptical about mizani because I thought it only worked well on relaxed hair, but I guess I gotta give it a shot. Thank you again!

  • @laxvolley91 ur welcome sis!

  • Thanks really great video as usual!!!

  • @kailaskurls awwww thanks sis! hows it going?

  • 21 months go girl! I'll be 16 next week.

  • @tonyajuanise thanks! congrats

  • How you place the picture up?

  • Your hair is beautiful. I love it! Question OFF topic slightly. Ive been trying to upload a pic of.me like everyone had of themselved to my channel and I dont see it anywhere. Im lost and tired of trying. Thanks :)

  • @BrownSugar6597 thanks. Go to settings. its on the 1st page

  • Thank you for this. I am pregnant with my third child and I am concerned about how I will maintain my hair while being a new Mother, a Mother to my other children and a Wife to my husband. This will be my first child while being natural. I was relaxed with my previous two. Coconut oil is my go to Deep Conditioner. It has natural proteins and conditioners that our hair needs and it's inexpensive. Congratulations on your baby!

  • @CCsoCURLY YOU ARE SO VERY WELCOME! CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW ADDITION. I love coconut oil. thanks!

  • I was having such a problem with dryness and finding products to combat it. My regimen is very similar to yours except I put the oil on last to seal in the moisture from the Smoothie. My hair loves it and stays very moist for at least 3 days. Thanks for sharing.

  • @CaraNaturally thats great!! dont u just love moisturized hair??

  • I can't believe how great your ends look...that's my hair goal.

  • @ebonyrose316266 thanks. as u can see i moisturize them very well. I always put a little extra product on my ends.

  • I waaaannaaa see your baby, I bet he/she is super cute!

  • @coconutandmilk He is adorable sis. Go check out video 142 for a pic. or visit my website
