They're running now. The water was pretty intense at the time the video was shot as you can see. All the herring were there, they just had a hard time making it up the stairs. I assume if there isn't as much water flowing now it will be packed.
Nice video. I see a few herring jumping, but I don't see much success in their ability to climb. I wonder, or do you know the month when they run in great numbers to spawn? Have you ever seen these stairs packed to the gills ( pardon the pun ) with herring looking to spawn?
