  • I have a close family friend who trains his women's self defence class in these and showed my father and I some stuff. They are for real, seriously effective if you know how to handle it and it's a very easy weapon to teach people to handle who might not be physically strong or have much other training Anyone who doubts what a kubotan can do should let his a female in his life buy one and put 4 weeks into learning how to handle it and hit them

And when you wake up tell me how much it didn't hurt

  • why not use your fists? they don't cost $7.50...

  • I had no idea what these things are, even though my aunt (a jailer) has always carried one around. Now that I know, that makes her about a thousand times cooler, no doubt she can beat you down with a tiny plastic stick. But *ORANGE*? Really? I thought they came in the same assortment of colors as the old model T cars: black.

  • wow. lots of idiots talking smack here. in trained hands a rolled up newspaper is a serious weapon. better to have such a stick in your pocket than to face an attacker with bare hands. (if you don't know any martial arts or the like)

  • a pencil seems more effective than this..

  • these days 9mm are jokes whatya expect me to say about this

  • easy to use. i use them for my martial arts it's not rocket science to use it

  • Stupid

  • how time you will stay looking for this shit, your idiot?

  • even something as small as this is illegal to carry in britain

  • its just a fukn ugly stick, go buy some hard black mans dildo as well, you can use it as kubotan, and after you beat the sht out of ur enemy, you can aswell fck his ass using your dildo

  • @sevenuruzify LOL AGREE

  • a maglite solitare torch would do the job

  • @TheRecognizable the maglite solitare is less the half the saze of this, i=unless ur 4 i caouldnt get my hand around a solitare with any of it protruding to actually use, they r about the same price and the solitare doesnt give u any light, get one of these and save up and get urself a decent flashlight, like a streamlight stylus pro, which could be used for this

  • @TheRecognizable solitare wouldnt hurt a rat

  • I'm gonna level with you I was rooting for Obama but it some d-bag comes at my with a weapon he's going to get hurt. Badly and it will suck to be him

  • The kubotan is silly in today's world. Civilians in feudal Japan couldn't carry weapons, but we now have keys, pens, flashlights, etc which are more lethal. My keyring has an AAA LED flashlight and a bobby whistle (Google it), both of which can outperform this since they have sharper edges. And they have other uses, i.e. the whistle is great when trapped under debris. When I feel threatened, I make a fist around around my keys, with a key protruding between the middle fingers for punching.

  • If your a student, cant you use a mechanical pencil . No one will know that its a weapon since you are a student who studies.

  • People who are disparaging this are more right than wrong. A kubotan is a great weapon--but a PLASTIC one is a neutered kubotan.

Get a steel one--especially one with a conical end--and you have a REALLY effective weapon.

  • 4:14 (Watch it be your friend or someone telling you you lost something or A RAPEST SUPER STALKER NINJA ROBOT PIRATE NAZI ALIAN with some sort of wierd orange fetish :/

  • thanks for the info, I ccw but this I very nice espically for places that you cannot carry by law.

  • is a kubotan better with a flat or pointy end?

  • @Tnt14tyson I have one with is flat / round end. I personally don't like the sharp ends one because I think its pretty dangerous.

  • so wait its jus a stick?

  • lots of neg comments, I'm ordering one from countycomm as well

  • is this a joke??

  • @lolo59912 ina trained hand, no to most peopel they wil see it as a stick and laugh...

  • @cutlerylover Good review, but it is not advisable to use the keys as a flail if being attacked. I have been in many fights and I can tell you from experience that it would just piss somebody off. But as far as an impact tool it is very effective.

  • @MrFightandwin wrote "it is not advisable to use the keys as a flail...it would just piss somebody off."

Yeah, I flailed myself with keys (tied to a pen to simulate the kubotan) and it wasn't painful. None of the sharp key tips hit the skin, only the flat sides. And the keys's light weight combined with the short distance of movement means very little momentum, or impact. Ineffective, even on the eyes. Better to make a fist, with a key protruding between the middle fingers, and punch.

  • @lgbtTV4 If I flailed you in the face with my keys I can guarantee you that it would stun you enough to setup a secondary strike with end of my kubaton to your neck or any pressure point.

  • @SSJ3Kakkarot But again, what's the point in this thing when you can simply use your keys alone? You can hold one key as a handle for flailing, and then use your key for stabbing. Simply put a key in between your knuckles with e rest of your keys in your closed fist. Punch with the key, especially in the eyes, and you'd do a lot more damage than this silly plastic rod can do. Any damage this stick can inflict can be done jockstrap better with a key.

  • @lgbtTV4 I think the point of the Kabuton is to make a larger handle than one key. US army studies show that when adrenaline is pumping , micro management of your hands and fingers becomes difficult and even impossible . Fumbling with a key ring into your knuckles and positioning them for a stab, the fight it's already over.

  • @SSJ3Kakkarot because military personnel aren't trained for hand to hand combat anymore. And what they are trained ala mcmap is just glorified mma. armbars and wrestling with some boxing and low kicks. A trained martial artist on the other hand, a person who is trained to maximize the dexterity of their fingers and hands in combat situations will find using the kabuton easy. If you had nothing and I had that, I jab your eye with it, I run, I win.

  • @lolo59912 no it's not a joke but it looks like a carved carrot

  • @lolo59912 A joke? I've been doing martial arts for years, I would like to see you defeat me while I have a kubotan, you'll realize how fucking hard those can hit. Trust me; they work.

  • @sweffe96 u have been doing martial arts for years....u sure...? your attitude, speach and demeanor does not fit or match...work on this. and pls stop representing in this negative fashion

  • @TEMUJINARTS Its the internet. Which hardly represents me in real life. Of course I could rephrase my original reply to not sound like a complete idiot.

After years of gaming you start growing an own internet personality.

  • @pwnageAAXAApker Rofl. Wrote it in quite the douche like style : D

  • @lolo59912 no bro not at all. someone cracks you in the temple with that bad boy your going down.

  • hmmm, i have a gun and he has keys. yea, i dont wanna mess with him. lol

  • o shit...thats good for self defence if ur about to get robbed u just pull out that dildo...id be scared too

  • just got surrounded by about 9 guys today just cause i rugby tackled a guy... geeez :D

should have one of these ^^

  • This site does not allow me to post very many characters. I carry one, carry it all the time, and PRACTICE with it for efficiency. Please, if anyone really wants some good first hand knowledge, contact me. It is a very effective tool, but like any self defense/preservation tool, it takes practice. I will answer your emails, but please only contact me if you are serious. Too many disrespectful people on here as it is.

    Andrew-CQC Instructor and Paramedic

  • In the UK they are made by PAUL NORMAN PLASTICS LTD and can be bought via Amazon UK - Available in a range of colours including Hi-Viz Orange.

  • I like your videos n all but why don't you just carry a knife instead of a Kubotan I mean im pretty darn sure even thought I know the Kubotan can make some good damage that a knife would be more effiecent and im also aware that in many places its illegal to carry a knife but if its for your safety like screw the law then :/

  • Tie two together and you have a nunchakubotan for only $15!

  • just grab a china made kubotan. its cheaper and of good quality.

  • nice review

  • Its called KUBOTAN, not KUBATON

  • Don't stalk people with carrots, bitch!

  • Sure if your a krate master this is probably as deadly as a gun. But if your that good in karate or what ever you can just use your body and the envirement.

  • 1.99 $ in amazon

  • Hey, nice video. i do relize that having a baton would be better than nothing, i could imagian mabey if there was danger near by and you had that out and ready to go you could use it effectivly but i have been in a emergency situation where it was frantic and nothing went as planned. and you had that deep in your pocket and you get attacked i cant see you digging it out of your pocket and then using it and still getting away. just a respectful observation. whats your opinion on that?????????????

  • Cool gear, I might buy a Kuboton. Is it too bulky or uncomfortable to carry in a front pocket (jeans)?

  • i got the spiked kubotan black metal style it is an amazing weapon i was testing it out on a piece of foam and hit my hand and it made my hand go numb and not be able to move, this could be very helpful when i clean a bank at night i love collecting these unique weapons

  • r u kidding me? its just a plastic stick... how is that goin to do shit? if it had a point on it to go into the bad guy then thats one thing, but god damn

  • @8447849739758 Dude, these things are brilliant, you just need to know how to use them, in the right hands this could easily put someone down, could very easily break a mans ribs with these things too.

  • BRAVO!

  • non lethal orange thing:)

  • You'll bust your keys and won't be able to drive away.

  • many people say wtf is that, i say kubotan ,they sey its loks like a dildo man.

  • I'm thinking of getting one of these. I have to look into CA law but I think this should be okay(although the one I liked had a concealed knife haha). I just hope I can find a smaller than one than that because most of my pockets aren't that deep

  • great video man

  • you literally just said, "if someone taps you on your shoulder, stike them" too many people wanting to use this just as an advantage in a street fight, and when you do, be prepared to be fcuked by either your emeny or cops saying you were criminally using a weapon or a fist load

  • I think many people don't seem to understand that these kubotans are SERIOUS items. They are so powerful and simple when used and they are unregulated and easy to carry around. Knowledge of pressure points is amazing with these. To say the least you have to know how to fight/defend but this has an amazing turnover rate when it comes to giving you edge in a fight.

  • ppl arent going to want to mess with you cuz you have a small orange stick in ur hand? yea ok...

  • Thank you I did go to amazon and I got one. So can I get most of the countycomm thing at amazon

  • @Stiboo1 lol to most it looks like nothing but in the right hands it will take a person down very easily...so some research

  • Comment removed

  • @Stiboo1, ive defended myself twice from attacks with this "carrot" when you know the right places to strike it can bring you down very easily, a lot of people like yourself will underestimate it, try having one of ur friends push it in your eye or on the neck and see if you can take it

  • @jewishWHEREWOLF

Defended yourself against unarmed attacks most likely?

The thing is, this tool doesn't give you any reach, or stabbing capability, so you need to be very trained to use it against a knife, for example.

  • @Stiboo1 ya dude i have seen some people fucked up with one of those carrots the guys that know krav maga will fuck you up with a carrot like nothing

  • @Stiboo1unless you know something about martial art or karate. this weapon will look (to you) like a carrot. lol

  • @Stiboo1 with a knowledge of pressure points , locks and other things it can be used to even decapasitate someone !

  • @Stiboo1 naa whats up doc?

  • @Stiboo1 check out the video kubotan 1 this guy shows alot of things you can do

  • @Stiboo1 u trying to be funny?

  • @Stiboo1 wrote "You can't do shit with that carrot"

You can do damage with a carrot. After 9/11, self-defense classes show how to use ordinary objects as weapons, i.e. a rolled up magazine has a sharp hard point, While you're unlikely to have a carrot on the airplane, you may have one after grocery shopping. Not only can you poke someone's eye out, you can also use it like a steel whip baton (Google it) because the carrot is flexible. Hold the tip end and whip.

    So don't mock the carrot.

  • Countycomm ship on to uk. Can not find one in the uk.

    Good vid and thank you

  • @d4jit go on amazon, they have some :]

  • @d4jit There are some on Amazon UK (available in a range of colours including hi-viz) may be smaller than this one though.

  • learn how to use our fists in a useful way!

many fast punches at the same spot is useful. aim for nose chin or cheek.

the kubotan dont give any range to talk about. if u need range its betten with a collapsible 26" baton.

often in a fight u are strugglin and then its more effective with punches that are fast and correct aimed (sorry for spell)

  • This is a generic pocket stick, not the real Kubotan. Real Kubotan (from Master Kubota) has a hard screw eye attachment for keys at one end. Hammerfist striking with that end is going to hurt a lot more than a flat end.

  • ???

  • 7 dollars for a plastic stick? its too much

  • haha, peolple in the city pay $9 for a pack of smokes and they only have hem for about a day, same fvor dood, how many times did you buy a $7 meal, and do you still have it, just saying...lol

  • this was a reliable self defense option whne I had it, but I dotn usualy carry the same items all the time so for me its main function was to easy see my keys if dropped, but your right, not somethgin I carry ALL the time therefore for defensive purposes its probably woint ever be used, and still extremely rare if I did carry it all the time..but for the price, its not a bad item at all and did serve a function for me

  • @bjarne20 i totally disagree. i live in an area where a concealed carry permit is virtually impossible to get and pepper spray is illegal. also, I want a non-lethal self-defense option, so I favor this over a knife unless things ever get to a life and death situation. I have one of these kubotans on my keys and when I reach into my pocket, it is very easy and fast to grab as it is bigger than anything else on my keyring. with those circumstances, this is a very good and effective option.

  • @bjarne20 I've used my Kubotan 3 times in my life, yes actual self-defense situations. Two of times happened when I was approached near the door and I had my keys out. The third time I drew the Kubotan (it was stuck in my belt) and used it. Yes you can use any small stick-like object in the same manner but having it attached to keys makes it readily accessible.

  • @bjarne20 you kno, ppl are fucked in the head, i c it everywhere, u know for 10 bucks

its ok no waste of money, it depends where u live ,true but i think its always best to have oe, just in case

  • @cutlerylover

    damn, got his ass.

  • @bjarne20 you can et full metal one's on Ebay very cheap. I live in england so i bought mine for £1.50

  • you can also a polymer jubotan similar to this from alpha innovations. they seem to have a lot for variations too.

  • lol as effective these are i hate how we have to carry these now. whatever happened to carrying pepper spray or a knife?

  • good review ! one of the best kubotan in the world is

the key defender from asp 'cause it's the same then this one

    but it's also a pepper-spray can ! ;) 2-in-1 stuff !!!

  • I bought one in silver X) but it was really cheap I bought it at a fitness store for as little as 39crowns (about 4 uero, 4-5 bucks) ^^

  • wow a powder coated stick...nice

  • there is another place where u can get them all collors powdercoated haha only for myself

  • hhhhmmm the color actually made the weapon more effective.....

  • im gettin one the next time im goin to the mall. theres a store that sells them and there metel

  • i train under hanchi rupe 9th dan,he gave me a swoolen hand today with one of those,nice..hard to type tho, soke is coming to our dojo in nov 10 cant wait!!

  • I used to make them out of aluminum in shop class and sell them to my class mate.

PS: For moral reasons I go with a .45

  • It blows my mind that it's illegal to carry a little stick on your keychain in some places.

  • is it really worth paying for when its just a stick?

  • if offers alot more than a stick, but thats up to each person...if your not skilled in the art of the kubaton or dont plan to train then its justa stick and probably wotn help you all that much...but if your interested in how to use it its much much more and worth every penny..

  • could you put up some videos on how to use a kubotan in a defensive situation? im interested in watching a few, since you have instructionals on zippo tricks and the butterfly knife. I think it would be a bit more practical.

  • true, but this will outlast your lifetime a wooden one painted will look like shit aftre a few weeks and eventually fall apart....

  • hey do you ever hunt or any thing? and i also love your reviews you are straight with us and use a calm voice and sound like you would never lie i wish i knew you in person you seem like a cool guy keep it up man

  • i like the new cuttlerlylover you use to not cuss lol

  • I agree with you. The same goes for Nunchuk, bo staff, han bo staffs etc.. they are really easy to make yourself.

  • There seems to be alot of people that get off on weapons of "self defence".

Then again I suppose it could come in handy next time you get into a dispute over a parking space.

  • You could use this to immobilise your target before you stole their wallet / raped them.

  • Only downfall from ordering the orange, od green, etc. kubotan from Countycomm...is that Countycomm wants to charge you $7.50 for shipping...if you purchase the standard black kubotan from Alpha Innovations website, shipping is only $3.50. So I guess it just comes down to rather or not you really want a different color besides black. Awesome review though!!!

  • the only downside to this weapon is it looks like a dildo

  • Cool idea!!

  • 3:45 that's what she said

  • i kinda want to buy one but would want one that has a round end

  • plastic carrot of death

  • Great vid. A well-placed strike with one of these will break most grips.

  • I personally wouldn't go with an orange, but to each his own. I have a Kubotan on my keys as well. I have a metal one with a "pointed" edge (its worn down since getting it.

I need to duracoat mine because its starting to wear the paint off where the keys hit it and its starting to make my hands smell like metal so I need to duracoat it, I may go with OD green or just back to BLACK again...

  • I got an orange stick..... don't f*** with me LOL

  • my good friend was havin a bad day when 4 kiddies tried to tax his mcdonalds. anyway he stoved there heads in with one of these in seconds lol

  • lol

  • lol, no, I just have an interest in them...

  • Do people beat you up? Is that why you feel the need to make fun of people over the internet? Are you insecure? Are you too much of a coward to make fun of people that are not miles away from you over a computer? Do you know how to fight? In martial arts they teach the use of some weapons. To me, you sound like a little kid who himself gets bullied a lot and spends his free time making up for than on youtube. So pathetic,

  • @Coldsteel0025 shutup nerd shut the fuck up and go back to your cvalculater

  • Nerd? Interesting...What exactly makes you think i am a nerd? Just because i told you off? Do you think it makes you sound tough by using useless swearing? Do you think i am going to shut up, just because a kid on youtube told me to? I got quite low grades when i was in high school, i actually lost my calculators within the first few days. i don't know shit about computers, nor do i really use them much. Far from a nerd. Why do you have no life? So many questions, not enough room.

  • Hey, check out my channel for a great rant on, guess you, thats right you. I have a job (2 to be exact), and i probably get paid more than you.

  • Update on the pepper please ;)

  • No spare cash to buy what I want just yet...but I am definatly getting it eventually...

  • cool baton :D get it

  • Having a non leathal option in your arsenal is a good thing.

  • I wish Countycomm would ship to Canada.

  • Try a mini mag flashlight

  • I don't actually want a Kuboton I was just saying I wish the store shipped up here. I don't know why they don't. They're loosing business by not doing so.

  • hehe jeff, I think youre the last person I would like to rob. It seems like youre strapped to your teeth :P

  • They should make one that glows in the dark.

  • @5:35, yeah, they'll pick someone weaker, then the weak guy will turn around with a fuckin' .44 magnum and blow the asshole's head off and all is well :3

  • lol yeah was thinking about that today,

why bother will crappy low calibre pistols and shooting twice to disarm your opponent, if you shoot a 44 you know that guy aint gonna get back up..

  • a 22 will put someone out of your misery, if you're a bad shot it doesn't matter if you have a bb gun or a .700 nitro express.

  • A pistol is a pistol is a pistol....

    Shot placement trumps all.

  • apparently the laws in florida are pretty cool, i've been wearing my gerber profile fixed blade in plain sight and a lot of cops have glanced my way and they haven't stopped me so yeah.

  • HOLY FREAKIN CRAP CUTLERYLOVER!!!

... No typos in the vid description! :D

  • To those saying a Kubotan is banned in the UK, you're wrong. The only one is banned is the one which can conceal spikes (Referred to as a "Hollow Kubotan"). I have also heard you can carry one, as long as you have it as a keychain.

  • GTFOOH that thing sucks, but you are cool man

  • I love me some county comm!

  • kubatons are a waste of money.you can use many other things that work just as well pens, pencils, put keys on your knuckle and you got a 2 fingered knuckle duster,or just drill a hole through an aluminum rod.....

  • they're only like 5-8 dollars, seems like a sound investment to me.

  • still money and you could buy some cheap pepper spray which is more affective than this with 8 bucks

  • yes but you cant carry pepper spray in school

  • ummmm yes you can

every school ive been to has never had any policies like that

i carry mines in plain sight noones told me anything

  • at my high school they actually have a rule against pepper spray >> some kid used it on a teacher.

  • oh hey! that chicks got a bright orange dildo on her key chain! well i guess i wont attack her now.

  • hahahhaa!

  • what u dont have anything on it... how do u use it? surely 4 inches of that thing sticking out of ur hand wont do anything when u swing it? will it?

  • you kinda stab with it

  • kk, but how does that hurt? is it flexible at all or stiff?

  • Its made out of aluminum

  • hey cutlerylover,

This thing looks very interesting, considering getting one, but i haven't the slightest idea how to use it..

would you mind making a video giving some tips on how to use this?

    Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • You cant go wrong with a Cold Steel Pocket Shark, especially in the UK. "It's just a pen, officer!"

  • Just carry a Kabar.

  • connect both with a paracord lanyard and you've got a mini-nunchaku

  • kubaton seems like it's just a fancy name for a stick imo

  • lol nephildevil u just made my day :D

  • How du you carry it? luks litle too big for a pocket

  • thats what she said... just btw...
