Was there one with two guys in a car driving on a road, and it starts to pour acid rain from the sky and the car slowly starts to dissolve? I remember it being on sci-fi channel but I'm not sure if it was an exposure episode.
Can anyone help me with a couple films from this show I've been trying to track down?
1. I think this was a Spanish short film. It takes place in the future where this guy has to pay to leave his apartment, and even has to pay an oxygen bill. It features a dwarf who somehow screws him over and (I think) steals his love interest in the end. I think the main character suffocates from not having money for O2. I may have the details off, but this is how I remember it.
@rdeem25 2. This was another foreign short film (possibly German). It featured a guy waking up with a room with lumps under his skin. He had to cut open his skin and the lumps were plastic eggs, which had paper in them. The paper made a message or something, and he had to complete it or he'd be blown up. It ends up that he missed one egg in the middle of his back that he couldn't reach and he blows up.
If anyone could help me with either of these, I'd be eternally grateful!
@rdeem25 I believe I have that one on a videocassette somewhere. When I find it I will give you an answer but I do remember it. It was one of the shows near the end of the series run.
@rdeem25 Okay I found the film with the guy and the plastic eggs. It is called "Paques Man" by Michel Leray and it is viewable in French (without subs) on YT. Also I have the other movie "Un Dia Perfecto" on the same tape with Paques Man and both have been subbed so that we Americans can follow the dialogue. I will be transferring these videos to the computer soon (give me about 2 months) and I think rather than risk YT yanking them I will Torrent them. Details soon.
@Nanoforge1 Thanks for finding that out for me! When I found "Paques Man" on youtube I discovered that you can hit the "cc" button and get english subtitles FYI.
Send me a message when you post those, or any other exposure shorts, here or elsewhere.
@rdeem25 This one is called "Un Dia Perfecto" (On a Perfect Day) and was done by Jacobo Rispa. I missed the showing on Exposure and unfortunately was only able to find it in Spanish......Which I am nowhere near fluent in.
I remember one film in particular from this series, but I can't remember the name of it. It was in black and white and starred a man and woman on a picnic. They find a hole in the ground and believe that someone is caught down there. They send notes back and forth until the end when the man climbs down the whole. At the very end, a note is sent up from the bottom of the hole and it reads, "Thanks for the food".
@nlenert I believe that movie is called "The Hole" by Brian Challis. I remember that when it aired, it caused quite a controversy on the SciFI boards because of the similarities to an episode of "Amazing Stories" with Kyra Sedgewick and David Carradine that had practically the same storyline.
@nlenert I haven't been able to find it either. Could be it was kept off the web by the NZ film commision which helped fund it. It is a rather old film.
If I had to take a guess...I would say that the Anime short sounded something like Hors Jo or Houres Jeu. But I dont know for sure so dont take my word for it.
please help guys im looking for a short that aired on exposure and i think its called"twisted transistor" and it was stop motion animation. i used to love watching it as a kid. please i would be very grateful if someone knew were i could find this short. thanks, jimy
@mercuryjam85 I believe you are referring to "Mr. Resistor" by Wil Vinton. There was also a sequel called "Bride of Resistor". Very popular. I believe "Mr. Resistor is on Youtube.
hey nano, i remember watching an animated short on sci fi along time ago, it was about an alien(maybe a robot or humanoid) that worked at a factory making hearts or something like that, then one day he put one inside himself and then everyone else started chasing him. you wouldnt by chance remember something like this would you? i think it was like claymation.
@fackiebackside Sounds like you are referencing some of the storyline of the short film "More" by Mark Osborn. Very cool short that was critically acclaimed.
@limbdarkening I agree with your view on Exposure. I miss it alot. The short film you mentioned was Lebanese director Michael Kammoun's French language short called "La Douche". That is french for "The Shower". This film was so popular it has it's own wikipedia page.
@dkwolf01 Ah....That would be none other than "Prelude to Eden" by Michel Gagne'. The Red and Yellow beings were actually atomic molecules not robots. Their epic battle was supposed to be how the universe was formed. The video is available for viewing on Youtube as well as Gagne's personal website.
I've been having trouble remembering an old short on this show about a guy who befriends an alien, even goes to an amusement park with him, the alien seems innocent but then he blows up the entire earth and does this evil laugh. No idea about the title or air date.
@sickfixxreturns I think you might be talking about Mike Mitchell's film "Herd". It would have aired originally in July of 2001 but it could also have been re-run. Check that title out online and let me know if I got it right.
Another one I remember was of a woman who clears a hair clog from her drain that looks decidedly fetal. After soaking it (?) in the tub it grows in to a full-size hairy man that she shaves and then falls in love with. It may have even been in the same episode as "Accident", as I don't think I saw too many eps of Exposure.
Wondering if anyone can help me with this. There is this one short I've been wanting very much to find again. It was about this dystopian world where everyone wandered around with these visors on that they lived their perfect worlds in. The film centered around a woman who finds herself yearning for something real and imperfect. Sound familiar?
There is one short from Exposure that I seen, probably around 2001 or 2002, that has been driving my insane. I think it was about that time.
Anyways, it was an animated short about a robot and the robot would open a door (like Bender from Futurama) and inside that robot was a glowing light and the robot would take pieces of that light and gain happiness. It sounds cheesy and strange at the same time. In the end of the video the robot opened the door to "his soul" and it was empty and dark.
Glad you were able to find it. It was a great short film with a haunting soundtrack by New Order. The creator Mark Osborne has now added Spongebob Squarepants and a new Heavy Metal movie to his resume.
ther makeing a new heavy metal movie cool the organl was the best 2000 was ok but it did not have any sex i hope the next one is a antholagy like the organl they shoud make a heavy metal ma rated animatid antholagy series on hbo or showtime it shoud have a difrent story every episode based on a comic from the magazein
@philj77 From what I understand, they are trying to make the newer HM movie more like the first with individual stories connected with a singular character/item. I understand Kevin Smith has been approached to direct one of the segments as has James Cameron. We'll see if it happens.
There's a short I'm looking for. Pretty sure it was first season. IT was called 'the accident' or something like that where this family is on a highway and their son gets killed by a driver, the family sues him, and has another kid and purposely pushes that one out into the road. I've been looking for this video forever.
Yes, that short is from the first season. Aired on the fifth episode and is called "Accident" done by Peter Besson. Very chilling premise. I wish I had it \o upload but alas, I don't. Sorry.
I am trying to find one and I cannot remember the title of it. It was like stop motion photography and it was a woman walking around alone at night and then she gets raped and slowly you see the house lights behind her go off one by one. It was really creepy and I can't remember the director or the title of the short.
That was the short "Groping". Would you believe that it was directed by none other than Alex Proyas......Yep, it was one of his first films as a student. If not the actual first film.
Do you actually happen to have any of the films they showed on this show or even maybe a list of them? I'm remembering one in particular, and it's driving me crazy trying to find it. =/
Well, I have a somewhat comprehisive list compiled on my comp as well as some archived eps on tape. If you can describe your film to me I may be able to help find a title for you. If it is a popular film the author may even have a YouTube page. I have found several of these shorts online.
I've been trying to find one. For the life of me, I cannot recall the title. It had a real Sixth Sense thing going on with it. This girl and her brother...died? Were killed? And the girl is sort of...reliving the last moments of her death...? It's vague, I apologize. I just remember that it struck me at the time, and I've been trying to find at least a title list from the show, hoping it would jog my memory. Any leads?
i've been dying to find this one film that was on Exposure. i know it was on the same episode as "Donkeyhead" was. It was trippy as hell, and had snippets of Charles Manson talking in it. Anyone know what that film was called?
