The great majority of perinatal toxicological studies seem to be intended to convey medico-legal protection to the pharmaceutical houses and political protection to the official regulatory bodies, rather than produce information that might be of value in human therapeutics. Prof Hawkins, Drugs and Pregnancy: Human Teratogenesis and Related Problems, p 41-49 (publ. Churchill Livingstone).
Pro test is astro turf (fake grass roots) I wonder how many in this march do not derive income, titles or qualifications from animal experiments or are not related to or friends of those who do or have not been mislead by such people."The history of cancer research has been a history of curing cancer in the mouse... We have cured mice of cancer for decades - and it simply didn't work in humans." Dr. Richard Klausner, as director of the US National Cancer Institute curedisease. net mrmcmed. org
The US National Cancer Institute also undertook a 25 year screening programme, testing 40,000 plant species on animals for anti-tumour activity. Out of the outrageously expensive research, many positive results surfaced in animal models, but not a single benefit emerged for humans. As a result, the NCI now uses human cancer cells for cytotoxic screening.

@66bluesboysam the medical research on animals does not save lives either, it is the reason diseases remain uncured. see quotes ive entered or go to curedisease. net
Thanks for the propoganda video. "The history of cancer research has been a history of curing cancer in the mouse... We have cured mice of cancer for decades - and it simply didn't work in humans." Why would anyone be 'pro-test'? Why can't we work together to find better, modern, cutting edge research that does not use animals? The Draize rabbit eye test has been replaced just recently, thanks to research done by the Dr Hadwen Trust foundation, set up to fund and develop non-animal alternatives. There are many examples of where researchers have been able to come up with alternatives. Anything is possible, we can solve this for all, a win/win for animals AND people. That's where to focus.
Great to see people supporting animal testing as it has and will continue to save/ improve lives. PETA, ALF and the likes aren't the only voice on the streets anymore, keep up the good work! Best Regards, Jan Ruud from The Netherlands.
I;m glad as well that there are equally strong opposing voices. They both have important points to be heard, yet the arugument I keep hearing is a childish "yes it does!" "no it doesn't!" in answer to the real issue: does animal testing save lives? The fact are really really muddy and I'd love to find a clear cut unbiased source; even wikipedia is messy about it.
@naymelessmoonlight Quotes by doctors/scientists may fill that criteria curedisease. net mrmcmed. org speakcampaigns. org vivisectionresearch. ca a re a few to start with. I think the fundamental facts speak for them selves, 60million animals a year killed in 'research', 30,000 diseases to choose from and nine are cured, an apalling failure, not to mention the fact that the substances which pass animal 'tests' harm humans, anything will pass. wikipedia is only as good as its contributors
@noratmedicine typical response when you know that an objective perspective does not agree with your ideas, "Wikpedia is biased, ITS A CONSPIRACY I TELL YOU!!!!" god, you sound like those conservatives who always whine the media is against them, when really it is the facts.
@thrashitupX I didnt say what you have put in quotes here. Here is another real quote for you..."The problem with animal carcinogenicity tests is not their lack of sensitivity for human carcinogens, but rather their lack of human specificity. A positive result has poor predictive value for humans." Knight, Bailey & Balcombe, British Medical Journal USA, Vol. 5, p477. 2005
Thats what it comes down to. Animal rights activists thinks a mouse or monkey has to same value as a human...they dont. My son almost died when he was a baby and he's alive because of tests done on animals. This isnt cruelty to animals, i think most ppl are against that, this is science that saves lives.
lol true. In spain they are trying to give apes all rights that humans have, you wouldnt even be able to photograph them any more (to respect their privacy).
If you ask me? Sure I'd give animals rights .....when they get a job and vote :)
Dress some apes in a suit and tie, and make it work like a human then it can be seen as equal. Until then, lets worry about fixing people up like that
i believe in evolution and saying ur for veganism is like going aganist the theroy of nataual selection its all in these hippies braines theyre getting the idea of animal rights from 18th century phlosiphy not nataual selection
this is a great video. Im so sick to death with all the animal rights activist being the majority voice when in fact they are the minority loud ones. Majority of people wouldn't disagree with animal testing but its become 'political incorrect' to support it. Its great what you are doing and i hope you keep up the good work. Human lifes come first!
You might care to get in touch with us, we've been organising pro-test reps in different regions across the country and are more than happy to help new pro-test-ing groups set up across the UK.
