Question, would like to do a similar sort of build i have 2 new baby cresties, when they get a bit bigger going to buy a new tank and do the same for the silicone what did you use? just wueruing as read most are toxic or is this until the cure time and it drys?
Hi, Im loving your setup! Im trying to make one also but I also have a question about the drainage, Ijust want to make sure, did you just pretty much cut into the back of your background making like a half tunnel from the plant all the way down? &why did you need the lecca balls? thanks&good job!
hi i have a question ! do you need a drainage when putting the plants "into" "onto" the wall ? i mean the "cups" where you put the plants in ..do they have holes? and if where does the water go ?
@Svenskommando hi thx for the reply ! i cant image the wholes :D do they "leave" the backwall on the frontside like a "waterfall" or are they actually inside the foam ? would be awesome to know ! cheers mate
@TheConstar90 I cut a hole through the plastic cup and made a tunnel down the middle/back of the foam. I guess you can say it "waterfalls" to some extent just that you don't see it, only at the very end where the foam stops and falls into the soil.
@Svenskommando wow that helped thx a lot ! just one more :D in the tunnel is there a tube or wont the water get sucked up by the foam ? i wish you a pleasant weekend
this is really cool and i might make one but i need to know do you need to use silicone or can i just use great stuff and all of the sides but 1 would be covered by walls so i wount be able to see the great stuff
@67kche You want to wait for the silicone to dry/cure so that it is not toxic to the gecko or w/e you have housed in the cage. The purpose for applying the silicone before the foam is so that when you are looking at the cage from the outside you see a black behind the cage instead of a white from the foam. I've also heard that the silicone helps the foam latch on to the back but I'm not sure if this is true or not.
@67kche I haven't tried to remove large amounts of the silicone but I was able to remove small patches (from messing up) with little hassle and a sharp blade at an angle on the glass.

@babycakes1202 To create the drainage I just used a small dowel rod if I recall correctly. The lecca balls absorb excess moisture. Hope that helps!

@Svenskommando ok, that sounds good. I may give it a try. Is it very difficult to remove / just in case I mess it up
