great voice, but many of her songs as a solo artist seem like she's depressed. Not too many upbeat happy songs, they're all slow and sad. I found the raw sound of Lone Justice more energizing.

WOW! I first heard her in the mid 80's with her group Lone Justice. Her voice is still simply amazing.
