perhaps i misconstrued things--but from what i gathered, -nothing- that beato described as reality in the catbox world of rokkenjima was real--this includes both "fantasy" and "real" scenes. perhaps shannon is the culprit in beato's stories...that's what i got from em, anyway...but does that necessarily mean kyrie isnt the REAL killer?
to answer my own question, no;....but then what the hell was the point?...why would beato scapegoat herself for someone innocent?
- In episode 1 she was one of the victim for the first twilight. Her face was smashed. It could be other corpse.
- Ange never show up on family conference in October 1986. She is sick. Kyrie knew that murders will occur so she could give Ange some poison.
- Episode 4 show that Battler is not Asumu son. Not our Battler. He can be Kyrie son. Ange hairs are red, same as Battlers. Battler could be switched after born.
- Kyrie is most inteligent person in Rokkenjima, also mystery fan. She could create closed room murder with no problems.
- Her birth family is Sumareda family. Kasumi show us that this is very strict family. Maybe they found out about switching babies, killed Asumu and now plan on claiming Ushiromiya wealth.
- In episode 5 Battler show us that cousins with sliced throaths could live when bodies was discovered. Kyrie could fake her death in every episode.
wow I never really considered kyrie as a villian. The one part that made me really consider her as the culprit or atleast accomplice is when she said not to question whether or not demons exists cause they do -phone cut off-
@AlCid0 speaking of kyrie as the culprit., Isn't it awfully suspicious that she has a cross on her tie a symbol for death? Do you have any clue why battler has an upside down cross on his jacket? Seems really fishy
You forgot someone... Amakusa also has a cross attached to his jacket. I don't find this relevant. Maybe it's some kind of author "fetish" like feathers in Clamp creations.
@AlCid0 yea but amakusa's cross is rightside up and gold. Upside down crosses are supposed to represent satanism if I'm not mistaken. Also a gold cross seems religions whereas a red cross seems more like it's death connotation.
I suppose it's to late to make new theories now, when it is almost certain who is the mastermind in Umineko.
I still believe Battler's cross is only fashion fancy of Ryukishi07.
EP7 said nothing about this and to prove, that Battler had any connection with satanism etc. you must provide this with backstory but I find this quite imposible cause EP8 will be last Episode. "Who dunnit" and "Why dunnit" is explained so far by Willard (I only read through first part of the EP7)
@Turksemployee Upside down crosses don't represent satanism despite what most people believe. It's actually a symbol of St. Peter iirc. He was sentenced to be crucified but didn't believe himself to be worthy to die in the same way as Jesus so he requested that his cross be flipped.
I suppose the misconception comes from the satanic star being an inverted Star of David, you'd think that'd work with Christianity's symbol too, but no.
Then again, it's possible Ryukishi doesn't know this...
@Burkieeee yea there's soooo many interpretations of what that inverted cross means and there definitely is that possibility that Ryukushi doesn't know what it means. but for the sake of the story I only see a couple of reasons why it would be included in battler's image art
1: to foreshadow that while in the beginning he denies witches he beforehand and after the rokkenjima incident believed in witches and wanted to practice magic/witchcraft
2: if in the case of the Peter inverted cross then it would be a sign of humility before Jesus but when has Battler ever really shown any humility or scent of Christianity.
3: His clothes kinda show how he may seem good on the outside but bad on the inside. Having a white jacket over an inner red and black vest shirt combo making him seem devil like. This could be simply cause he thought it looks cool or again symbolism for something completely different.
In the episode four hidden tea party Lambda guarenteed the identities of the corpses from the first twilight in arc 1. So Kyrie definately can't be the culprit in that game.
I think you misunderstood the meaning of Battler's explanation for the first twilight of game 5. He didn't say they could live after having their throats sliced open. Just that when the bodies were discovered, there weren't necessarily any bodies there. He argued that it could've been a bag or something.
@Burkieeee Kyrie (OR ROSA *COUGH*) could be the culprit... for example, let's say she killed five victims after poisoning them, Kinzo included, even though he's already dead. Let's say, for example, there was a witness, perhaps Eva. Eva saw the culprit after the others had been killed, and killed her as well. When she saw Shannon's corpse, she saw her ring on her ring finger, and remembered George's relationship with her. In a vain attempt to hide the corpses' identities, she ripped of their
@Pingypong101 off their faces. However, she also had a witness, Kanon, who later on came into Eva's room, and stabbed her through the head as an act of revenge, followed by Hideyoshi, paranoid he may have overheard something.
The theory gets kinda sketchy and fuzzy from then on, basically saying Kanon became paranoid and killed Natsuhi later on. The icky part? He wasn't really dead, and his wound was not very deep at all. >.>
@Pingypong101 I don't think you can say that it was Kyrie. Knox's 8th right? There's no evidence that this happened and it'd be the same thing as the witness just killing them. I reckon any attempt to say it was Kyrie will just end with a devil's proof. The rest is possible (not sure about Eva's motive but meh), Kanon in particular is suspicious.

That are most theories you can find on the net and in VN that support Kyrie = culprit. If you have more questions, PM me.

Yup, my bad about Battler explanation. I remember now.
~SPOILER~
When Ronove fought with Erika he mentioned that there wasn't a rule that deny "something other like corpse being called a corpse".

If you mean that scene then yes, I didn't get meaning of this explanation.
I don't remember Lambdadelta corpse confirmation. I must read first four arcs one more time I suppose.
I guess I made a silly mistakes then. Thank you for clearing this up :)
