  • Sometimes when they are at the limit riding on the nose makes it easier for their legs to move and really get power out of every stroke. The only reason you don't do that all the time is because nobody can do that for 4 hours. but it's tolerable for 30 minutes. But I agree the rule is stupid and it would give riders the option of moving their saddle forward if they wanted to.

  • I agrre that the UCI ruling is reduntant or moot considering your analysis however, i think if these guys had the opp to ride bikes with steep seat angles they'd puch the saddles back to accomodate their aero postions anyway.. they all prefer to ride the tip of the saddle. they are very light individuals, quite flexible and a saddle is simply a guide and not something used for comfort nor rest. A better argument for discussion is the angle of flexation of the hip flexor
