  • men...i love his accent....

  • the red stratocaster can play songs like metallica?

  • @TheFuent3s yes, but with a more vintage sound, if you change the pickups (mini hambuckers) the strat can sound more modern

  • Whhhamy??

  • what's the general price of the red american special

  • whats the intro song?

  • I got the sunburst on maple in november 2010 and love it . I recommend it .......

  • The background music...what is it?

  • its a tele review strat is rly minor thing

  • he looks a little like mike portnoy

  • body is made from 3-pieces of wood glued together aka "mexican" standard, plus its finished in gloss, its a great marketing ploy though by just sticking a usa stamp on it, they have done this before a few years ago but the serial numbers on them guitars were starting with AM, american/mexican which also came with texas specials. keep your pennies folks and wait just a little longer to buy the real deal.

  • I wonder if there's a UK Music in Nevada...

  • Question - in the last position, is the selector switch supposed to turn the sound off?

  • I LOVE my new Fender strat American Special!!! -Liam

  • Is there anything negative about the jumbo frets?

  • @ChuanKuiMusic Nothing really, only if you happen to prefer the vintage size thin / medium frets or want your guitars to be the same as original spec. Most prefer larger frets and flatter fingerboards as they are easier to play and bend on with lower actions. All up to personal preference.

  • @ChuanKuiMusic yeah I use heave strings and play hard... the jumbo frets are taller and act almost like a scalloped fret board.. if I hit a note too hard it detunes... I just cant get used to it.

  • @ChuanKuiMusic no not really, there much easier to do bends, also handy if you use a lighter touch , with jumbos you dont usally touch the fingerboard. so if you use to med or vintage frets your have to adapt. i found the jumbos ok . and with the 9.5 neck radius setup was same.

  • What. Is. The. Beginning. Song. ???.

  • aaaah gotta love this white beauty!!

  • @stratcat70 The LP and Marshall are a better match..

  • @stratcat70 yo..bro... fender makes amps too.... sorry...

  • I bought the fender american stratocaster.. great sound!!!!

  • Ahoy Mate, That there ya got some fandy playin if ya know what I am tellin ya. The UK, the Bloody WHO, and Roger thank ya Mate! Oy vey, Yngvwie, He'd be doin it Man, Yes, He'd be doin it Man!!

  • How i wish these don't come with jumbo frets.

  • i don't like that camman, moving all the time, damn

  • how do these compare to an american standard strat? i know the standards are considered superior but it terms of tone are the pickups the only significant difference?

  • Amercian Specials are pretty much a hot rodded version of the Highway Ones and about $100 more.

  • excellent review- I enjoyed watching it and I learned a lot.

  • Hey, got a question. What is the difference between this strat with the humbucker and an american standart strat with sngle coils ''all the way''? I'm speaking about sound diffence...

  • wich ones better for punk rock

  • @dragorn4 the telecaster

  • Sorry for the cut out at the end:

I was saying... You won't see the guitarist of rhcp playing a telecaster, so get a stratocaster.

  • @lynnhaven4 Actually, John used his Telecaster for many songs live.

  • @silverguitartom really? i dont think ive seen him use one. ohwell i trust you

  • @lynnhaven4 Indeed he did, their Slane Castle show is the best example I can think of. But you're correct in a way as his Stratocaster is his main guitar.

  • @silverguitartom he used a tele a lot more on BSSM

  • @lynnhaven4 He mainly plays a Strat, but he plays a Tele on some songs, such as Can't Stop.

  • To the guy below me..

I'm guessing that your 150 dollar guitar was a strat copy. Yes alot of people build strat copies but the biggest differences from a Fender strat or tele is the quality. In fender guitars you get very good quality of wood and top of the line pickups etc. It is all about the tone. 150 $ guitar: horrible tone. 800 $ guitar amazing quality and great tone. And to clarify If you need a tele or a strat. If you like rhcp( they are killer) you won't see the guitarist playing a t

  • Awesome vid :D Thx

Iam looking to buy a cool new guitar. And i want something where i can really rock out with. Now ive visited some sites and i got confused :/ First site said: Tele=jazz/country and the other said: Tele=(classic) Rock. I mostly enjoy rock like red hot chili peppers/nirvana/led zeppelin. towards that genre. rhcp mostly.

So iam going to buy either a fender strat or a fender tele. Iam scared about buying a strat cuz it looks exactly the same as my first 150$ guitar.. Any advice?

  • @TheINfamousrocker If you rent each, you'll get to know which one you like best. The tele is really good if you like higher twang trebles with crazy treble definition, and strats are a really good multi-purpose guitar, really versatile. But in the end a guitar should be an extension of your own body while playing. So you'll choose the right guitar for you.

  • this is around the price i want to pay for my next guitar but what is better for grunge/alt rock? the strat with the humbucker or the one with 3 tex mex single coils i think there called?

  • @AwesomeSauceLimited If your looking to play rock, chances are you'll end up prefering the humbucker equipped guitar. Obviously, if possible, the best move is to try both.

  • This guy is so awesome he plays awesome guitar and he is so funny

  • how much in uk

  • @agi0707 710 pound i think

  • all strat's are top guitar's depend on the player.that make's them sound goodthis new american is quite unique good for almost any style sixtie's up ward'srock blue's or classic old time 60s well worth the money cheer's antonio vonkalasson uk and sweden

  • Unfortunately it has a plastic casing rather than a lacquer finish like the 'inferior' highway ones.

  • cool EA turban dude

  • why u have 2 hairs?

  • what are the differences between the 3 brass saddles, 6 brass saddles, and the other birdges with 6 saddles, dunno what they're called..

is their any difference in sound, tuning, anything? I'd like to know

  • how is that humbucker for heaver rock?

  • Is the sunburst a good looking finish on these? Or is the candy apple the better looking finish?

  • @soulplatos they both look great it just depends on what u want

  • which is better the strat or the tele

  • Does anyone knows if the is the Fingerboard is satin finish or high gloss like the american standard?

  • @spookyd13 i think there gloss finish. as the neck looks like it has a shine.

  • @spookyd13 ok checked again in a review. the maple neck has a high gloss finish to it.

  • That HSS version looks gorgeous.

  • Want that Tele SOOOOOOOOO BAD

  • this man obviously prefers a tele... all is well with the world!

  • I love the Candy Apple Red strat, beautiful. How does it feel the the fingerboard ? is it painted with some kind of gloss ?

  • whats the song?

  • What a nice Tele in 3 TSB finish! I guess Bruce Springsteen has got this baby, yet!

  • I like your review very much! THNX!!

  • i was told by someone that these have a bit more chunky neck than a standard is this true?

  • the texas pick ups are awsome. The only thing i dont like is the neck.

  • They must use cheaper components on these guitars ,i like the colour options on these guitars better than the Highways,i have a highway but it would be nice if Fender started providing the daphne blue on the highways like they use to.

I think American Standards are still a step up but these guitars are still good.

  • i wonder if the paint on these will wear like the highway one?

  • no i played one.

there just like the normal american types but than cheaper.

    they sounding great.

  • @5150VanAlien I am not going for this model, I am going for a vintage 62' reissue.

  • the strat-bridges doesn't work fr shit.. use it one time, it's out of tune... or atleast that's my experience of them

  • But you don't buy a strat for its bridge, you buy it because its a damn strat and the sound it makes is great! xD

  • But why are Fender modernising the strat for the new age working muso when they go to vintage for the bridge? Several guitarists would be happy to pay a premium for a modern bridge.

  • It doesn't matter much to me really, when I get my Strat I won't ever use the bridge, I have a guitar with a Floyd rose for that stuff.

  • @5150VanAlien yeah, I know I would. but still I've played this and its not that bad really

  • @5150VanAlien

Old school is the best man! I tell you what, I bought me one electric guitar 10 years ago and one new guitar 2 years ago- I don't know why but I prefer the older guitar because I learned to play the guitar on it. And I need the feel of her to have inspirations. Very important for composing.

  • Hey Marty,

I can understand where you're coming from.

I do like the Candy Apple Red in this demo, though if I bought it, I'd change the bridge/neck pickup with SD Hot Rails and change the bridge saddles.

    Rock on

  • @5150VanAlien

I would let it be original. I like this 3 TSB because i had never seen a f finishlike this before. I love this sweet cherrie red in this finish and the black pickguard. I like the cubic poti knobs, looks like they are from a '52 Vintage Reissue Tele. But i don't like the Fender Logo like this because I miss the original like from the American Standard. This one looks like a '70 Woodstock Logo. But it doesn't matter- the point is that it's a Fender made in USA.

  • Nice review, I've been wondering what these are actually like and it seems like they sound great.

  • I've tried American Standards and Highway Ones. Knew about the presale of the American Special. It's really a matter of taste, nothing more, nothing less. Got the Highway One Sunburst Mapple SSS Dec/2009. Just loved how it feels and sounds. The American Standard felt so... standard, and the pickups were too... default.

  • The Highway One in the other hand has a contour body with 70's headstock and jumbo frets! That's very easy and fast playing! Great bends! The Alnico III pickups impressed me with its versatility from blues to hard rock it was able to. I was thinking of putting some Texas Specials on it like the American Specials, but this Alnico's III really proved that they're definately a keeper. That was the right joice for me and my taste. That's a matter of flavor.

  • About the Satin Finish I can say I was worried. But then you can see that beautiful exclusive finish will age beautifuly. The American Specials are essentialy a Highway One that shines with Texas Specials. But I wanted more versatility, Alnico's III suited me perfeclly.

  • I'm sure the frets on the neck aren't smooth like the American Standards. So you might as well pay the extra $200 for one of those, not only for its smooth neck, but the Am Standards have better pickups, thinner undercoating, and come with a superior hard case instead of a gig bag.

  • good point man, theres so many reasons to spend that extra 200$ .

Although to be fair I preffer texas specials over the hot american ss pups in the standards..

  • Are these good when compared to Highway One Strats?

  • Similar but with the gloss finish, texas special pickups, extra fret, jumbo frets and cool retro styling !!

  • @NevadaMusicUK Highway Ones also have 22 frets.

  • @NevadaMusicUK Highway ones have 22 frets too. I have one.

  • @NevadaMusicUK Both have 22 Jumbo frets and same styling..only real differences are the texas specials and the urethane finish.

  • @NevadaMusicUK Yeah yeah mate, they are similar. The only differences are all those things that you mentioned, hehehehhe.

  • @aryasridhar a 2007 highway one sss strat SHITS all over

the american special strat. the highway one is much more superior

over the american special strat. this is a fact not a opinion.

  • @stratdem

Can you explain to me why you feel the highway one's are better than the american special series? I plan on possibly buying one or the other in the future and am doing a little research. Thanks in advance

  • @CureRadio Don't mind him. He is probably angry these came out after his Highway one. The fact that these are U.S.A. made Starts with Texas Specials is a instant buy for anyone looking for a something in the 800$ price point.

  • @stratdem

You're totally right, except that they aren't actually better at all.

  • @aryasridhar They're in between USA AM Standards, and the Highway 1 series. Both of them are made in the USA, but the highway series has the Nitro finish, (Not Glossy) Same Neck, same Vintage Trem, The pick ups may be a step up, but no difference really as all USA Fender pick ups have a good resale, and if your handy with a soldering iron...Well ya know what we are saying here.
