I am currently getting a little over 400 miles to the tank.(10gal tank ) That is 50% babying it...and 50% getting on it. although I think my MPGs will go down a bit once I swap a B16 into it and work for 250+WHP

That guys hardcore v8 may be able to run a 13 second 1/4 but a manual version of my car, a Toyota Celica GT-S (I've considered some minor engine mods,but mines a 4 sp auto and therefore slow as crap) runs 15 second quarter miles and can actual turn quite well. Old school American cars were lucky to have even disc brakes on the front, and used crappy leaf spring setups in the rear. New American cars (such as my t/a or camaros or mustangs, excluding vettes) have coil spring setups. Besides the solid rear axle, what is so different in your foreign car?
@nbm2000ws6 Thats where my knowledge fades. Really my idea was that focusing exclusively on engine (any car really) tends to cause the handling to suffer, just due to lack of thought and weight. In my experience smaller cheaper(?) less powerful cars handle better due to that aspect being more thought out, and to me that makes a much more fun driving experience. @nbm2000ws6 That's pretty fair. Mine's about 26 city 34 highway while driving. Worst I ever got was 27 mpg in a tank and that was after an autocross and flooring it a lot. Still a bit better. Your engine probably turns pretty slow which would (theoretically) explain that. Older cars also tend to get better mileage, unless that's a myth too?

@s13SILVIADET There are no stock FWD car that has more than 300hp. You know why? Because it would have a horrible torque steer. Also, handling on FWD isn't as great as a RWD, because it's nose heavy.
FWD is only good because it's cheap to start out with, but it's never good if you're gonna tune it to over 300hp.

FWD are suppose to be made as more economic, fuel efficient cars they dont perform efficiently as to AWDs or RWDs. plus since the motor is at the front, you'll have to slow down more to turn
RWDs are all power, if u just replace the parts with lightweight performance parts, then you can tune over 400hp

A lotus is built track monster for the road, no carpet,sound deading,or a radio. Miata are a fun cars and have better handling than the boxter. Currently i own a Lancer Evolution X, i went and drove the boxter new at a dealer ship and it was a huge let down in power, and handling.

That guys hardcore v8 may be able to run a 13 second 1/4 but a manual version of my car, a Toyota Celica GT-S (I've considered some minor engine mods,but mines a 4 sp auto and therefore slow as crap) runs 15 second quarter miles and can actual turn quite well. They're 2,500 lb and generally considered best handling japanese cars. This is where american cars fail. Me driving my slow auto (6 months driving experience)pooped on 20 mercedez at an autocross. S65 Amg v12 2turbos 1 sec faster than me

Old school American cars were lucky to have even disc brakes on the front, and used crappy leaf spring setups in the rear. New American cars (such as my t/a or camaros or mustangs, excluding vettes) have coil spring setups. Besides the solid rear axle, what is so different in your foreign car?

@nbm2000ws6 Thats where my knowledge fades. Really my idea was that focusing exclusively on engine (any car really) tends to cause the handling to suffer, just due to lack of thought and weight. In my experience smaller cheaper(?) less powerful cars handle better due to that aspect being more thought out, and to me that makes a much more fun driving experience. @nbm2000ws6 That's pretty fair. Mine's about 26 city 34 highway while driving. Worst I ever got was 27 mpg in a tank and that was after an autocross and flooring it a lot. Still a bit better. Your engine probably turns pretty slow which would (theoretically) explain that. Older cars also tend to get better mileage, unless that's a myth too?

@s13SILVIADET There are no stock FWD car that has more than 300hp. You know why? Because it would have a horrible torque steer. Also, handling on FWD isn't as great as a RWD, because it's nose heavy.
FWD is only good because it's cheap to start out with, but it's never good if you're gonna tune it to over 300hp.

tons of people dont know what a ricer is...its annoying. just because its foreign doesnt mean its a ricer. people rice out american cars all the time. ricers are people who dont know shit about cars and put stupid body kits on them and big chrome wheels or hubcaps and stupid paint. but a tuner is someone who is focused on performance. iv seen more foreign cars that can beat american cars in a straigt line and deffinately road course so get your shit straight people

there are some cheesy asian cars cos of the way some people have customised them, but there are some lovely ones also. asian cars are often pretty cheap quality which lets them down. there's something really cool about old school american cars but i really dont like american cars made after the 80's in general. american cars seem to handle pretty crap a lot of the time to. i think europeans make the best overall cars ha!
