I think LofTR is one of the BEST film adaptation of a book I've seen yet. The true essence of good vs evil is not lost in translation. I'm a 'religious' person too. I can see her point, but I learned taht the kids will do what they want to do anyways..Best to prepare them for some semblance of reality so that they will not be gobsmacked when it hits them. They won't know how to prepare themselves. Aragorn is a great example of a man who follows what is right.
