im looking to do a 69 camaro full restomod for serious autocross racing, and i wanna do paddle shifters cuz a stick aint gonna b fast enough, how did u do ur paddle shift, what trans, etc.. iv been looking at a full c6 corvet setup but not sure if itl work plus looking to a ls9 in and idk if the z51 trans (the one with the auto paddles, can handle 600+ poneys..thanks,
I like manuals more because of tricks you can do, but that is cool having paddle shifters in a muscle car. Do you mind me asking what type of car it is?
I have had stick shifts for over 35 years & if any of you ever been in a bumper to bumper traffic jam for an hour or more you know that your foot feels like it is going to fall off from the lousy clutch plus having to keep placing the car from first to neutral & back ... I think that these paddle shifters are quicker than a stick with a clutch & reflects how new innovations can make driving more fun & gives you the better of both worlds! You can't stop progress!
totally agree with szutsg - it's a slow shifting automatic and it's utterly pointless in putting a paddleshift system on anything other than a true sequential manual transmission with dog engagement.
Evidently you know nothing about fully manualised automatics. Faster than a manual gearbox due to torque multiplication, and near-instantaneous shifts, and very fun to drive with a ratchet or paddle shifter.
If I were you, I'd go learn something before trying to "educate" people.
I'm researching this sort of use for an auto with a view to using it. Unfortunately this video does not help at all. What is happening?

In a real sportscar, there is hardly any, if there is any delay. And you definantly can't hear it.
