They played live, for sure, Angus plays extra solo notes and also in a slightly different timing. These people heard the live thing.

What WE hear on the video is the studio track. A common technique if the original sound was bad for the post production. You will find that quite often in some "High Voltage" or "Long way to the Top" TV shows, simply because of bad recordings.

So this isn't fake, its just a live Video synchronized with the studio track, due a bad recording of the live sound.

In the late 70's and early 80's so-called "live" performances like this on TV shows were mostly lip-synced to the album. I remember watching Def Leppard on American Bandstand during the Pyromania tour and they were lip-syncing to cuts straight off of the album.
