the more often you repeat the command, the more he will know that he doesn't have to obey you. Say SIT once, then wait a few seconds (young puppies need time to process the command), then repeat it again, and if he still doesn't listen, gently push his tush down on the floor and immediately reward him.
by rewarding him when he gets up you are teaching him that sit means to jump up on the crate. Also by continually saying "sit" you are teaching him that he doesn't have to sit the first time you ask.
I love how he will finally do as you ask, but he still has to put in his own 2 cents! *laughs* My mini schnauzer does the same thing! So cute! Thanks for posting the video!
