  • Informative! Thanks! :)

  • Keep pressing 8

  • A common misconception is to use this technique for the iliotibial band. The iliotibial band is not a muscle but rather a fibrous reinforcement of the fascia lata. - Wikipedia

  • say "finding any tight spots" again, please

  • thanks up I needed this help!

  • Love the foam roller exercises..foam roller has been a godsend for my bad hip. LOVE LOVE IT!

  • i just started using this for pt, and my god it hurts like SUCH a bitch. i hate it so much, but then after my legs are like slack lol

  • "tenderness junction" hahahaha

  • I don't have nuts but you cracked me up. LOL

  • Respond to this video...

  • After years of working out and being used to sore muscles,I finially tried the foam roller and I love it! Traditional stretches just arent that effective. It really feels like a deep tissue massage.

  • I just used a foam roller the other day..and man it hurts so good! Def worth it... cant wait to get my P90X2 cuz it comes with one... yes!!!

  • @yattbanks If your using P90X, you probably don't need a foam roller, lol.

  • Looks like some type of sex warm up exercise.

  • gahhh the pain

  • 2:00 . did he really just slap his ass?

  • @and1uprise His tight, actually

  • I have a roller that is padding around a PVC pipe, that way it doesn't wear down in the middle like I hear foam rollers do

  • @kdfish wtf are you talking about kid, that's all completely functional language: "connective tissue", i.e. tendons and ligaments; "tension", a state of being too tight or too loose, both of which can cause weakening of connective tissue; "hips and thighs", the area where we walk and dance and one of the most knotted up centers in the body, obv prime for foam rolling. /pie-to-face

  • great video, if your thinking about getting a foam roller just get one! easily the best product I have ever bought. I wish I had one of these 5 years ago. Its not some fad or gimmick it really works. If you want to reduce your recovery time between training or suffer from any tightness that reduces performance you need one of these. You will literally feel the benefits the first time you use it. Can't wait to see the improvements from long term use.

  • you

  • Foam rollers REALLY work! Yes, it hurts - esp. when you have adhesions in the myofascial layers. Using these techniques will tone and release, making life better in the long run :) Tissues are re-hydrated when the fascia is not tight & knotty. If you've ever had Rolfing done, this will be similar.

  • That thorasic spine excersise, will this realign any misaligned vertabre in that area, and help to rehydrate the disks in between each vertabre?

  • @GuamKomudo If you are fortunate enough to be by a gym that has a reverse hyper-extension machine, it is good for decompressing and helping to rehydrate the disks.

  • Thumbs up if you foam rolled your nuts by accident

  • ...

  • @iwanttofight69 ...what do you mean, by accident?

  • @iwanttofight69

Oh man your comment just floored me - I can't stop laughing!!!

  • @iwanttofight69 Yeah that stuff hurts, especially when it pinches a nad...LOL. Testicles don't roll well...LOL

  • how often and how long should we foam roll? thanks

  • Are you supposed to feel shooting nerve pain with that first one?

  • @itchyclothing shooting pain, probably not. But if you have not done this type of stretching before it can hurt a lot.

  • keep pressing 5.

  • @bfm987 hahahahah dude:P

  • @bfm987 keep pressing 8

  • @bfm987

And then keep pressing 8! XD

  • @bfm987 lol

  • Ahhhh! i think im to fat, it'll pop. BOOM!!!

  • really great! Thank you

  • press 7...play until 3:05..press 7 again...repeat ;)

  • What differences of results does the hardness/softness of the roller produce?

  • @nakeyblakey too soft = roller compresses under your body weight and accomplishes nothing.

too hard and you'll cry. The firmer, the better. It WILL hurt most likely. Self-myofascial release is a mo'fo'

  • The groin/ abductor one destroyed me. I think my problem may lie there. Going to do these everyday. they're great. Love you man. You're so sexy.

  • Great instruction, thanks for posting.

  • nice, though you forgot to do hamstring

  • @Keyboardbeatz lol...good call this guy is a noob.

  • Good video bro. I use mine regularly. Hurts and works well.

    Brett

  • YO THESE HURT SO BAD

  • Really good video, but can you/anyone recommend anything specifically for hamstrings? cheers

  • thanks nice instructional vid

  • Work the tight spots . . . I could be there all day lol

  • Usual instructions are to do it slower than you do and to pause on trigger points for 20-30 sec

  • Very informative. I intend to get some rollers to assist me in increasing hip flexibility. In the mean time I am quite content to watch this video on a loop.......you're hot! and those legs.......need a cold shower!

  • someone else asked will the pain ever go away... will it?

  • @susieq48 it'll hurt less the more you do it, as your muscles will be more relaxed

  • @susieq48 no. you are forever alone.

  • never roll in down , away from your heart. only roll it upwards. the blood is being pumped back towards to heart. you can pop the veinous valves and get varicous veins.

  • great!!

I did it and I fell like new! :)

  • This are awesome, they hurt like bloody hell and the pain is ubearable, but they

    are great !!!

Will the pain ease up ?

  • Thanx so much! Just what I've needed.

  • Thank you - super explanations!

  • Thank you! Your demonstration was clear and helpful!

  • your a G! thanks

  • where do you find these rollers at

  • @saintjohnmuscle You can find them at any fitness store, for like 20 bucks, for a full 36 by 6 roller.

  • I need to pick these up again. I come back to it and, oooooooowwwwwwww

  • How long should you roll on each muscle?

  • @Lissbirds suggested to roll until you find pain, stay on it for 20 seconds as you try to relax despite the pain. then roll around that point again, then move on. you may spend up to a minute rolling on each muscle group.

  • @InfiniteVoyageOrg Thank you!

  • i just got one and started doing these exercises and while i do them my leg muscle hurts! after i feel nice and stretched but is it supposed to hurt sooo bad during it?

  • @iboltsmytres YEAH IT IS ! amazing isnt it? ever been to a massage that hurts so bad during but feels so good after ?

  • its funny cause I felt really silly using the roller the way I was using it.... but I was doing the exact same way, hurts like hell, but works. Excellent video. Better than DVD that came with the rollers package!

  • i can't cross my legs due to tight hips. Will this help to make them more flexible?

  • hes soo cute

  • Great video, Thanks a lot, I found it very useful .

  • Oh how i'd like to be that roller!!!! lol

  • they work but man do they hurt

  • @NejiKusa but the outcome is so worth the pain.

  • @NejiKusa

haha that's when you know you got some tight muscles lol, but the after effects are so good lol

  • @mtluca

    You're an idiot

  • @mtluca what a stupid comment. go back to the hole you crawled from you fool

  • I've just went through about 6 different explanations and this is by far the best, thanks for remembering how many time to go over the tight spot.

  • amazing, this could possibly cure much more than just pain, seriously....i'm a believer !

  • very nice. good, clear explanations. thank you.

  • yes, very good.

  • my IT band is screwed up in the right leg and when i try to do the sideways one on the right leg i feel the pain even in the lower legs as well as the thighs is there any demo for the lower legs

  • yeah me too ! but its my left leg! i guess we have to continue them applying light pressure on that part till it starts to dissappear if not we should probably visita a doctor lol but ill continue with this ;D and complement it with good stretches!

    best of luck

oh and also u could buy glucossamine and choindritine at costco to help you heal faster

    or Celadrin pills

i dont expect thanks from this but in exchange i wish this brings health and harmony to all

  • its saposed to hurt at first but it feels better the next day..its only meant to take the kinks out of muscles btw

  • great video informative

  • Excellent video, thanks for posting :)

  • Today the Doctor let me know that i have the Myofacial disease, i am not sure if there is a cure or if there is an exersise that can completly relienve the pain. if any of information on this plese send me an email, i can give you a number if you live close and , or you can give me info on it , thank you

  • I do the same thing with balls, very good idea, thanks

  • Just heard about the foam roller and plan to get one. The Shape magazine has a good exercise to help get rid of upper arm flab. Wish I had this guy as my personal trainer! ;-)

  • You can't target flab. Your body gets rid of fat in a first on, last off pattern.

  • Nice job! and Cheers! from the USA !

  • Very helpful and informative.

    Foam rollers are great.

  • Yummy! I can has? The man not the roll. Seriously I use a roller, per my trainer and it's quite good.

  • Yes, yes...use it more... I knew I would inspire you with this video :-)

  • you hardly know what you are doing!People are going to get hurt following you instruction! What about stopping on the trigger points???

  • He 's kind of right. You wont get hurt, but you're slowing down your results if you dont stop at the points for at least 30 seconds.

  • Thanks. Three of these are exercises my trainer showed me, but I couldn't visualize them when I was in the gym by myself.

  • thanks so much for posting this... i've just become aware of this form of exercise and am about to integrate it into my routine for triathlon training. very clr and informative

  • thanks, good info.

  • I've got one an it is awesome. Thanks much for posting this video.

  • Thats great Foam Roller Exercise!!!

I have learnt a new and interesting way to exercise.

Can all age groups can do it?
