Congrats on running a 4k. I just started running 3weeks ago it is about a mile and a half including walking. When I run my calfs really tighten up...I do stretch before I run. Any advice? I also made a workout video on my channel..feel free to check it out. Keep up the great work!
@stephbolton1986 That's awesome! Just take it one day at a time...and modify! If you can't do something, then modify it so you can. Or take a quick break and continue. Just try to make sure you finish the dvd every single day, and before you know it a month will have gone by. Best of luck!! :)
That is great! I think you have a runner's high :) I LOVE running in the rain...and you are right it makes it so you don't want to stop. You will be at a 5k in no time. Hey, you never know maybe a marathon will be a goal someday. I ran one about 12 years ago and it was a cool experience. Definitely obtainable...but does require a pretty hefty time commitment for the longer training runs.
Have you always been athletic? been able to run? I'd love to run but I always run out of breathe and have to stop after like 1 minute... is it as simple as starting out slowly then adding more and more?
@rjs010 I had been pretty athletic in my earlier years, but I started out seriously out of shape. I could only run a couple minutes at a time before stopping. My endurance just built up super quick! It's amazing! Just try running a bit every day or every couple days and see how fast you improve :)
