hi, liked subscribed.. i've always found collecting movies to be very pointless and space consuming.. back when I was collecting VHS it dawned on me.. they're not even worth anything so not only are they going to get watched again.. they're also worthless, untidy, space consuming and WHO KNOWS when one or more of of them discs is going to announce itself to be faulty and become unreadable..
@emuholic In a way... I slightly agree with you... Shhhhh (though I never really collected movies til the invention of DVD)... but I don't buy nearly as much as I used to and I cringe when I hear people I know say stuff like "I probably won't watch it again... but it was only $10!" WTF?
@cynical44 Unless it's a ECO-case (or in really rough shape - some of the pawn shop cases I find are pretty rough) I hold onto it. And depening on the artwork I might keep it... I've got a box full of em, that I might do something with someday. But some of these covers are basically photoshop disasters... and I don't shed a tear over tossing em. :)
Hey Travis, do you have any tips on writing a script? I've been trying to write one for a little while but am finding it a little hard (And yeah, that's what she said).
@HorrificanStudios Writers write, right? Hahahaha... Okay... here's a good tip to get you started. Whatever you want to write think the complete opposite: If you're doing comedy watch a lot of dramas, if you want to write a movie, read a lot of books/comics, etc This method of "studying" will work your brain kick those cobwebs loose.
Good stuff man! I agree what in the world DC that is messed up! I wonder if Casetophia would have green cases? I'd love for all my Green Lantern stuff to be in green cases!
@RazMansReality Nope. Unfortunately, as I recently discussed with Robbie Webster, the rainbow of blu-ray case colors seems to be limited to blue. I did see some black ones on ebay (from another seller) but they were $4 each!
@RazMansReality Yeah,,, and Rango has an orange case... WHIP IT also had a green case... so they do exist, buying them separately seems to be the problem.
I give my DVDs away to my friends (if the content is the same on the Blu Ray). Like I gave my Toy Story 1&2 set to our friend who has a daughter. It had some sentimental value, because I used to play it for my kids a lot when they were really young. But for the most part, since my collection is so big, I figure just get the cases off my shelf and it helps out a lot.
@sgtpepper1138 At one time (pre-job loss) my collection took up about 3 and a half walls. I'm a lot pickier about WHAT I buy now, but I'm seeing my collection starting to spread. To me there's just something I REALLY like about the combo packs.
I imagine at some point I'll have to condense things just based on space but one of the things I like about collecting movies and such is having the big display.
@Soulgotha At one point my collection took up about 3 and a half walls... that was back before I lost my job and I had to sell a lot of that stuff. Now, I'm a bit choosier about what I buy... but I still want to be conscience of how much room I'm dedicating to my collection.
so what do you do with the old dvd cases? nevermind. that was an obvious answer. lol keep up the good work on the vids it's fun watching a daily planet video. wow there's a cornball tie in to dc.. (cricket noses)
@hadjisnightmare I actually hold onto any cases that are in good shape... as long as they're not the freakin ECO-cases... I toss those right in the trash because it's exactly the opposite of what they think they're doing by giving us those lousy things.
I hate eco cases, and I would love to replace them except I don't have a good printer to print out alternative case art

Some good tips! Especially since those digital copy discs are really only good as drink coasters. Better to make room for the DVD.
My problem is I have so many of those old crappy, cardboard snapper DVD cases in my collection. They're such an eyesore on my shelves.
