As I recall the Max Baucus bill was the result of his committee's actions. It was passed out of committee on a strictly partisan lines. While a word or phrase, uttered by a Republican, may be in the proposed legislation the manner of its implementation, its mandate, its tax consequences, or its empowerment of government agencies typically were not the actual Republican proposal.

As I indicated I relied on the texts of the bills, not the spin, to determine it effects.

It is inaccurate to contend that opponents of the various health care proposals offered by the Democrats have not offered any alternatives or counter proposals. The limited, and narrowly focused, information presented by the lame stream media has purposefully chosen to ignore alternative legislative proposals. Therefore people that rely only on the evening news from ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and the like are ill informed.

Just reading the texts of the legislation is reason enough to reject them.
