  • Its pronounced shassy (chassis)

  • detuned guitar :s

  • skip to 6:50 to hear it get play'd yeah that f*ckin long

  • 7:07 sounded kinda like californication

  • hey guys, im looking to buy an acoustic guitar. And i was wondering if you guys could help me out? Is there a sound difference between an electric acoustic guitar and a normal acoustic guitar. Thnx =D

  • Hi i have a question. does an electric acoustic guitar work if the battery is empty? like the playing will it work? I know the tuner won't work anymore but the guitar itself with chords and stuff will that still work or become really weak? or is the battery strictly for amping your guitar up to something? thank you.

  • @Hollywoodgirl1010 If the amplifier is put on it will act as a elctric guitar but will not completey lose that acoustic feel, when the ampiflier is put off it will play like a normal acoustic guitar for example check out my Ibanez V72ECE.

  • thanks, this video and this loudmouth convinced me to buy Godin A6 Ultra, an excellent guitar at a good price. Throw him a bad presenter of the product.

  • @scienceyblues hes his own presenter hes an idiot

u missed out on a really good guitar tho

  • Just shut up and play the thing!!!

  • play it !!

  • Recently I played a lighty used Ovangkol variant (no binding) unplugged. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall comfort and unamplified sustain; a very difficult guitar to put down!

  • with a beard he'd look like bin laden...

  • Babble on ???

  • Just SHUT UP and play!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Does it sound out of tune to anyone else?

  • @sgraves4 Yes, I thought so too

  • @sgraves4 YUP

  • @sgraves4 YUP

  • ....- -!

    turning ah

  • the t5 has only one mic, why this one has two? someone could explain me plz?

  • its my favourite guitar ever

  • GIMME THAT GUITAR plz :-|

  • All this guy's reviews/demos are the same. 7 minute talk show, two minutes of playing.

  • 7:40 sounds like "Yesterdays" by Guns N' Roses :D

I fuckin love this guitar !

  • are you trying to sell this guitar or something?

  • 6:15 for those of you that want to cut to the chase. I'm all for being thorough but sometimes you gotta rip the snap pants off!

  • Wow, so many stupid comments on this video. Liking it just to spite the idiots.

  • guitar is out of tune!!!

  • Man he talks alot :P

  • what kind of amplifier are you using

  • I have a Fender acoustasonic stratocaster and it sounds way better than this thing.

  • this guitar is over priced garbage

  • First learn to tune a guitar

  • OMG!!!!somebady just skut him up!!!

  • I'd rather have my Les Paul or my Strat.

    >>>I want to hear the GUITAR.<<<

We watch these vids to here the guitar not some guy talking for 10 minutes. How does it sound with gainy Marshall? How about a cranked Vox?

  • tune your guitar n00b

  • :( i want this guitar

  • @motocikletca it's only 1560€ in Slovenia... hehe I'm getting one next week... =DD

  • are you trying to seel it?

  • lovely guitar thanks so much for the review

  • Does it have an on-board tuner? That would be a good start here.

  • @downhome7500 - no, it does not. would be superfluous on a Taylor. Spend the fifteen bucks and get a headstock tuner.

  • @sixgunner455 I know that, I was being sarcastic because this dude decided to video himself playing a guitar that's out of tune.

  • en ESPAÑOL por favor =(

  • its a really superior joint :D

  • The Steinberg with the piezo pick up is far superior in my opinion. To my ears this sounds like an electric not at all like an acoustic.

  • @darkoanton5 Even the steinberg sounds electric if your not using a PA or acoustic amp. My T5 is awesome for acoustic and electric stuff, I like the fact that it doesn't use a piezo system for the acoustic stuff, piezos sound itchy to me. I don't use as much treble on my electric amp settings and it sounds as thick as my Les Paul and PRS single cut on the electric stuff, if i crank the treble it goes into Tele territory.

  • @anthonycrystal33 its actually pretty good..

  • @Wcburg1 Go listen to Joe Pass, Jack Pearson, Warren Haynes, Julian Bream, John Williams, George Benson & then let's talk abpout who is "ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD!

  • @anthonycrystal33 Lets get angry!!! You might want to check him out in performance. There is a difference between playing to teach and playing to entertain. Google "David Taub in concert"

  • Thanks, I learned a LOT about how to select the sound I want.

I apologize for the hecklers. They don't have many ops to sound superior. You were an easy target.

  • did I just count FOUR pickups?? not three.

  • yes 4 , under saddle underfretboard and the 2 single coils....

  • Haha thats wat i was thinkin just shut the f... Up n play lol

  • y the hell doesnt he jus shut ta f$%k up an play..stupse...we dont want to kno how, where, why, or who plays it...jus f$%kin play

  • So the neck pickup does not get the chance to work at all?

  • The more he talks, the more info you get, and if you don't like the talking just SKIP it you fucking morons, stop complaining douches

  • this guy and his crew are doing something right, they get tons of view. Is it one of those love to hate type things??

  • Tune the guitar before recording... This is hurting my ears...!

  • great guitar but jesus get to the point will ya and let us hear the guitar...

  • hehe, ye he does talk a lot to say little. and then when he does start playing his guitar is out of tune :)

  • holy fuck, this is the worst review I've ever seen.

6 and a half minutes of talking, followed by 4 and a half minutes of playing basic chords in the same setting, with the exact same tone. 11 minutes of my life that I will never get back.

  • @JIMMYJIBLETS couldn't have said it better

  • Can you play this thing without an amp? I've always wondered that with these semi-hollow acoustic type ...

  • holy crap dude! just play the thing!! Seriously, we have all been playing guitar to know how to adjust pick ups.OMG and why are you playing basic chords??? Its a taylor man! Jam on it!! im out

  • ive watched a lot of this dudes vids now and he seriously has no idea what a guitar is and what its used for.

  • Sooooooooooooooo, where are the screaming tones?

  • I'd rather have a Crafter SAT w/ a P90

  • Thank you for going through all the switches and settings. People can be so rude! If you don't like this presentation, find one that better fits what you want. I bought a T5 in 2004 and I love it but I needed this info about the 2 amps etc. Thanks.

    Pamela

  • just play next time ok? dont talk...

  • i really wish he wouldnt stare into the camera when he's playing. He looks pervy.

  • TUNE IT OR LOSE IT :(

  • It doesn't help that he is saturating the tone with tons of reverb. I'd like to only hear the amplified guitar please.

  • I am not a tuning purist but you could really tune your guitar if you make a goddamn video. I waited for 6 minutes and then couldnt listen to it because it is so out of tune.

  • "...10:00 Very cool..." - not very cool :/

  • I hope he knows that he's outta tune...

  • So is this guitar strung as an acoustic instrument or an electric one?

  • @sniperv25

thats what i am wondering too

  • you idiot, you dont start even talking about actually playing the guitar until the 5 minute mark then spend another 1:40 TALKING ABOUT THE FUCKING THING. I do want to hear about the craftsmanship etc, but i want to hear the thing be played first to see if its worth listening douchebag

  • Tune your guitar you dweeb ass.

  • Comment removed

  • This is a Taylor T5, but the catalog I saw only the T5 with a single pick up.

What exactly this model with 2 pick up?

  • if you look, this video was posted 2 years ago. it may be that they started producing ones with only one pickup since then.

  • Holy shit. even jesus would scream to this guy to play the damn guitar already -.-

  • This would be a nice jazz guitar.

  • Put to 6:40 if you want to hear it getting played :P

  • Thanks ;)

  • its like a fuc***g joke!

    stop talking!!!!!!

  • god...you talk much...

  • He mentioned the stacked humbucker bridge pickup and the two internal pickups, but completely ignored the external neck pickup...i wonder why. Does that not come stock?

  • hah I clicked on this thinking yay 11 minutes to hear what my future guitar can do and to my surprise there is roughly 30 seconds of playing and its pretty much just pissing around while you talk some more.

Can't wait for my own so I can sit with it in my lap and bore the shit out of people.

But seriously shorter vids less talking more playing : )

  • And there is a part 2 O.O

    damn

  • the guitar is nice cool but u talk to much ..more playing less talking . .

  • At 6 minutes and still not play it, i'm bored so bye bye

  • PLAY THE GUITAR !

  • Less talk, more playing!

  • dude you talk way to much sometimes

  • the guitar is kinda out of tune!!!

  • oh he doesn't want to play it through a Line 6 on the insane setting? LOL

  • It has a great sound

  • man thur the video i was like PLAY IT PLAY IT PLAY IT!!!!!

  • Taylor T5 , beautiful guitar but somehow don't like how it sounds. I woudn't say that it's an electric-acoustic guitar, it's rather a half electric - half acoustic one ( a bit "handicapped" ). I was planning to buy one but not anymore. Dissapointed ... after I've watched almost all the videos on youtube about T5...

  • Blah Blah blah blah...I give up. I wonder if you ever got around to playing the thing.

  • You play catcher?

  • acoustic guitar strings or electric?

  • I suppose it is unisex =D

  • Taylors are beautiful but Dave really needs to stop drinking.

  • CAn anybody please tell me the make and model of the second-last guitar (sun-burst in colour) in their subscribe ad on the right side...

  • 7:16 LOOOOOOL

  • TUNE THAT SHINY PUPPY!

    My Taylor picture is ruined!

  • shut up!!!! PLAY!!!!!!!!

  • once again, you speak too much!

  • tune that guitar dude

  • you can hear how it has a plastic back to it. it sounds more electric than acoustic. sorry but there will never be a true acoustic and electric in one guitar. nothing beats the sound of a pure quality electric (les paul or telecaster etc) or a martic or taylor dreadnaught acoustic. theres just too much in sound dynamics to make both acoustic and electric in one guitar.

  • TUNE that guitar you shlub!

  • He starts playing at 6:42

  • @Aarrmehearties aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnndddddddddd thanks for the notice

  • That's a kick ass guitar

  • SHUT THE F UP AND PLAY!!!

  • i couldnt agree more. dont pay for his tuition, he spends more time talking than he does playing.

  • thanks for warning me! I've got some videos out without his help anyway.. hoping i wont have to resort to his help!

  • Really - just play it man

  • I love the look of that guitar, found out yesterday my aunt actually has one so I shall be going over soon to have a jam! lol

I don't usually comment on childish phrasing but when he said the pickup sounded spanky.. that cracked me up

    Great video though

    Greg

  • haha

    f hole . . .

  • 2 things: He likes to solo in A, that is established, and two, this thing does NOT have a built in tuner.....

  • Acoustic tones I've seen in several vids lend themselves to REO Speedwagon cover bands. Am I alone here?

  • he almost dropped it at 5:40!

  • theres something about this guy that makes me wanna puke my pants

  • would sound good in tune!

  • Do you know how to get guitar effect like in Dj flex Ft. Belinda - Te Quiero (Official Remix) ? Or is it made with computer ?

  • im reporting this video for being over ten mins

  • ... haha

  • : )

  • he's a little out of tune? anyway his guitars has 2 pickups ...even on Taylor's website, T5 has only one..

  • Keith Richards play this type of guitar in the 1989 world tour on paint it black and ruby tuesday keith made the guitar sound alsmost like a banjo

  • katomate, you are a jackass. go buy some real guitars

  • hey I'm just wondering, is this guitar neck heavy?

  • i played one today actually and I found it real easy to get to grips with, coming from an electric guitar background I have to say that its body construction and weight distribution are just like they would be on an electric, so, in short, no xD

  • can you play it unplugged?

  • well, you can, and most are surprisingly loud acoustic, with not too bad an acoustic sound.. I worried about this myself when I was buying and the thing to remember is that whilst you CAN play it unplugged, the 5 way system (the whole idea behind the T5) is only in use when you play it electrically... So if you want a true blood acoustic sound, you should look elsewhere, but if you want a great versatile gigging guitar which you can use rather than 2 guitars in a song then this should be yours.

  • thx 4 the info ;)

btw, did you buy it and are you satisfied?

  • No problem, and yeah I did and its fantastic, it really opens up new possibilities in terms of song-writing and performance and is especially useful if you gig with a band with only one or two guitars. Not just that, but I think the T5 amped acoustic sound really holds its own against the traditional acoustic taylors, not to mention how the distorted sound can rival any solid body as well. I guess you get what you pay for... good luck and hope you enjoy whatever you choose :)

  • does a hollowbody guitar sound like an acoustic guitar, i was just wondering because i love the warm sound of acoustic guitars

  • thats a tough one, because each guitar is different, I would have to say that unplugged, no hollow-body (or at least, no hollow-body I'v ever played) matches that warmth you get from an acoustic guitar, however, if you like warmth just when strumming thick chords, then some of the hollow-body gretsch guitars and ones like them can work well acoustically. If you plug in a hollow-bodies like the T5 though, they can offer surprisingly good acoustic tones through an amp (but only through an amp).

  • hmm they only sound like acoustics if the body is deep and it looks like that 1 isnt so im guesisn not

    but plugged in it will

  • yes, its not quite as loud as your standard acoustic but you can do it.

  • Nope I'm a noob I like to watch it's interesting

  • okay well then im sorry, but most people thinking about buying this would know all this!

  • Dave Matthews also has been known to play this guitar quite often. Amazing guitar. I liked it so much I have 3 of them now...

  • What's really stunning is the $5000.00 price tag (and that's street price.)

  • that's because is the Koa version, the luxury version, you can find a new T5 for like $1,400.. that's not so expensive.

  • I just checked, and the cheapest that I've seen a standard Taylor T5 w/ a spruce top (and not specifically Engelman or Sitka) is $1999.00. For two grand, I can get a lot more guitar than that!

  • i'm thinking of buying a T5, what other similar guitar could i buy then?

  • I'm the wrong person to ask, because I'm not a fan of Taylor guitars. If I wanted something like the T5, I'd save myself a few thousand bucks and buy a Crafter SA-TMVS (which sounds damn good to me).

  • man your a great talker, but I'd like to hear the guitar actually... sorry, i won't be subscriibn' :(

  • when you flip the guitar around from the back it looks like a LP

  • hes trying to explain about the guitar. thats what the vids about. listen and you might understand.

  • man could you stop talking and start playing

  • EXACTLY

  • Does this guitar take both electric and acoustic strings?

Will it be louder unplugged with acoustic strings?

  • It would be electric strings

  • its strung with electric strings and electric strings only, sorry :(, thats good though if your an electric player playing acoustic...

  • "OK SO IM SURE YOUR SICK OF ME TALKING"

    **talks for another 1:30**

  • It's useful information, please ssshh.

  • I played one of the 3 pickup versions a few years ago and had a long discussion with the dealer over the "humbucking" pickup. Take your hands off the strings and it hums loud like a single coil strat. I love Taylor guitars, but calling that middle pickup a "humbucker" is a bit of a stretch. Otherwise it is a great guitar.

  • Nice demo! The ones I have seen have only had one humbucking pickup... -Derek

  • talk a lot

  • I have a Taylor T5-C2 (one pickup version) and he gives this guitar NO JUSTICE at all. I have a T5 video posted, not a demo but just some improv. TUNE YOUR GUITAR MAN!!!

  • is it just me or when he strums it doenst sound good.

my worhsip leader has a t5 and sounds sooo much better then this could be video quality but idk its just me
