Dual Layer (8.5 GB DVD) to Single Layer (4.7GB DVD) Conversion tutorial

Hey, I have a Dual Layer DVD with two 1-hour long program on it. I want to separate those two program and put each one on it's own single layer DVD. Can you help me?

So for every movie that you burn all quality will be down graded or can you leave it the same instead on compressing it to fit onto a 4.7gb disc?

I'm trying to burn a 7 gb game to a dule dvd an i have tried power iso, nero, an ImgBurn an now I'm going to try Active ISO Burner an I'm tired of wasting my dule dvds they aren't cheap can you help?

@PrettyPrincezz100 you can burn the game onto 2 DVDs, but if you're using nero, place the dual layer DVD into the DVD burner, then you can drag the contents into the disc, you can see the bottom line to see if it can fit onto the disc. make sure your firmware is up to date.

@PrettyPrincezz100 You should mount in on a virtual drive, instead of burning it. No DVDs needed :)

@PrettyPrincezz100 if you are trying to hotswap xbox 360 games then you are wasting your time give up and NO you can not put it on a single layer DVD or two single layer DVDs the console WILL not read it and if you are too tech ignorant to go it then don;t waste your time or money

I think that youre title is misleading. I just wanted to know how to make a dual layer dvd a single layer and you give too much other info.

Here's a hard question for you, I have a DVD that is 8.5 GIG movie, I want to split burn that DVD into two 4.7 Gig DVD's. How do I do that? This way I can still retain the DVD quality but would have to put in the second DVD to watch the other half of the movie.

I got a dvd player that upscales the dvd to a 1080p and I dont like watching dvd5 because it takes a lot of the good picture away.I have been having trouble with Dual layer disc.when I play them in my DVD player it stutters witch is anoying.herd in the rating polls Verbatim is the best brand because they burn and play excellent the only problem is verbatim cost 2 dollars a disc. I have to make sure my dvd player has DL play back capability,I wonder if that would help.not all DL disc are equal

you can try to ask a friend to see if they have a dual layer dvd, and put them on an external hd, or DVD roms aren't that expensive now, about 30 bucks cnd

I don't think you can, you have to divide it into two different DVDs, use nero, or a dvd copying software
