These moments that you share with your child will never be forgotten. Olive will remember snippets, here and there, of these times.
I came back to have a look at this video because I notice that it gets a lot of referencing in your page comment section. I'm surprised I didn't leave a comment back when it was posted. One weekend soon I am going to start at your first video and watch them all one after the other...non-stop! "eaglecrowowlapalooza"!!! ... wOOt!
This beautiful video brought me to tears on my levels and for many reasons. I wish I could hug you all right now and kiss little Olive on her cheek. Her hair is just incredible and truly an exceptional child. This is one of my favorite videos. Much Love and Much Gratitude to my close friend for posting one of your videos on his website. If it weren't for him, I would have never found this jewel. Thank you to both of you. Much Love~*~
olive sure is growing up.I like her addtion to your drawing too. and the the bubble on the red carpet was show stopper for me. I'm glad Elphy did a vid response so I enjoy this now!!!!!!!!!!! HUGS~ Meg
So fortunate and blessed are you. To love and be loved. I never had children, I wanted them, I couldn't have them. So I am everyone's "auntie" . I am blessed also. Hold your Olive tight and let her fly. She has such promise, doesn't she? What a gem.
(I'd have commented earlier, but just back from knee replacement surgery). "This is my country". I love that. A new found fact? Or declaring the sovereignty of her room? I love the ballet class as well...following instructions I'm sure for as long as she could stand it then- time to pirouette/spin!! Even very young creative souls wont be pinned down.
Beautiful Caren, and so true about paying attention, we tend to get distracted and can miss those precious moments of our children growing up and it goes by so fast.
Besides this being an amazing slice of life documentary, what stood out was how everyone seemed so natural while being filmed as if the camera weren't there. People tend to "put it on" when being filmed and how you captured those moments was fabulous.
*bawling* and although the video was so beautiful, it was what you wrote in the little box that put me over the edge.
my biggest fear is losing details. i know I will eventually lose most of them but I'm just hoping I can hold on to the really special ones. I guess that's the gift we have with a video camera. Your video has totally inspired me to go make a video of my own, for my kids, today. Right now.
This is so wonderful. I feel your love. I believe my daughters are the best art I know, and beyond - seems you know that feeling. :) Great little slice of "being here now." Olive is a work of art! xo
*wipes tears from eyes* Wow. Olive has really grown up in these short few years. Time is going by so fast. The song made me cry. Yes. NOW is all we have. I am really glad you are trying to always be in the moment. That is so important Caren. Beautiful video for you all to look back on. All of your videos are excellent quality. "Mom do you know this is my country?"---adorable!
I tend to get impatient with the videos I watch. This one stole my heart and made me remember all too many times I let time get away from me without paying attention. Then again, it also reminded me of the sublime moments of watching my children grow and discover the world. A wonderful message from the eyes of love.
thank you for this lovely vid, i will return many times to it,, today i was talking with my son about his grades,17 yr old senior,i put my hand on his shoulder he said "take your hand off me" i expressed how that hurt me,, later on we did some things together and were closer than we have ever been,, it is a big life we live,, j in k
Utterly entrancing. What amazing camera work Caren! and Olive is growing so fine, so fine... she will be a dancer like you. What a completely BEAUTIFUL child you have there, no wonder you are so in love.
when i was about 10, i decided that if i ever had a daughter i'd name her olive(i got made fun of for this)in the meantime i've grown up and had 2 little boys but have never forgotten my olive still up there in my ovaries waiting.
then i joined yt and discovered you and YOUR olive. at first i thought, oh damn, there's already an olive in this world, what would be the point of keeping my olive dream alive? but just now i realized watching this that the more olives, the better.
As you already know, I love your work. It brings me to the moment. I try to always be in the moment (but that is extremely hard to do). Your work always brings me back in. I love it. Olive is getting old! She is gorgeous. She seems to me to be a free spirit. I love it.
oh man oh man... Choked up over here... Your love for your beautiful daughter shines clearly through. I'm not a mom, but my niece Jade is 5 now, almost 6, and I feel those pangs... the missing of the baby, toddler... the worry and hope for her future... Just enjoy and smile. You seem like an awesome mom. She's a lucky girl, as are you. :o)
This video is truly beautiful. Everything about it. The sunflower paintings in your kitchen, you and your friends hanging' out and drinkin' wine, drawing in the sketchbook. Thank you for sharing!
This is so beautiful and so poignant. I admit it choked me up a little... in a good way ;o) I remember watching her at two. She's still stunning and amazing! I just adore how you put your videos together. Thanks again for sharing your love!

To soak up every moment with the ones you love as if you were remembering the present moment from the far off future and getting to live it again.
Time slips by so fast and then they're grown.
Beautiful video as always!

Caren, you always manage to stir up the pigments in my bucket of emotions.
I try to pay attention, for time passes much too quickly.
