if this is a jeepspeed race then why isnt he running the required in-line six motor? one of the main jeepspeed rules is that you must run a in-line six in the 1700 class unless you're in the 3700 class which enables you to use any motor as long as it is of mopar chrysler make.

Wrong. Jeepspeed has class 2 and 3. You can run ZJ and 4/6 with turbo or supercharger as well as V8. Learn yourself something useful before you open your pieholes.

Max engine size allowed for Jeepspeed is 4.0 bored .060 over. 4.0L were the more popular engine choice for XJs (Cherokees). .060 over makes the 4.0 a 4.7L. Of course you can use other engines since other Jeep types are allowed, but since this is a Cherokee it's probably a 4.x, likely bored over some.

Actually, a 4.7L engine is not only bored, but stroked as well. When you stroke an engine you increase the stroke, which is how far the piston travels in the cylinder (up and then down), which, increases the displacement. That grand cherokee probably had a V8 in it, that's what it sounded like anyway, and was probably the factory 5.2L. I don't know the jeep speed rules, but if 4.7L is the max, then that wasn't a jeep speed race, because there was definitely a V8 in that Grand.

There IS a 4.7L v8. It isn't a Jeepspeed race. The uploader probably called it that to get more views. What he probably means is that it's a Jeep driving at speed. Obviously a stroker has the stroke increased...otherwise it would be called a borer...which would sound kinda stupid. You can also have a stroker with no overbore. It would be a 4.5L and relatively low cost.

The Hemi was only available in the WK platform. The ZJ platform only has the 4.0 as a base engine, 5.2 and the 5.9 Limited engines, in europe you can have a turbo diesel option too, but no Hemi in this ZJ platform

It's not a V8; that's a 4.0L. Jeep Speed rules state max engine size is 4L with a 60 thou" overbore.
