  • Twin Lead is better

  • to bad this video is't high def

  • question- if i connect an HDMI cable to the ps3, would I still need the AV cable that came with the ps3 plugged in, or does the HDMI cable basically replace it?

  • ironic, this video is in 240p

  • Xbox 360 and PS3 look awesome with HDMI.

  • THE LEAST THING THEY COULD'VE DONE WAS TO UPLOAD THIS IN HD, COME ON

  • I think this vid needs HDMI not 240p :P

  • @iegemboy hdmi has nothin to do with the computer it home theater

  • Heyy.montherfucker.can.i.use.that.wit.my.fone.thunderbolt???

  • I have it hooked up to my ps3.. Plus a sony bravia.. I can tell the difference from my brothers non hdmi xbox graphics :D

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

  • Ok. I'm new to this part. But I never really searched out what is hdmi before. But what is it more exact? Can you connect a usb into it? What's the deal? It's just to make the graphics better is more what I lean towards though I hope I can input a usb in it.

  • whats better HDMI(1cable) or component(scables)?

  • @pinhead222

no if ur tv is hd try using component which has 5 cables

composite but is not hd but has 3 cables

if the tv is not hd there would be no point of hdmi to aware tour question no

    @zZGoldenGamerZz

no if you are already using hd maybe if ur not

I awnserd 2 things at once!

  • wow

  • I have a flip camcorder but i can connect the cable to my camcorder and to the TV? or what? ehh

  • I have a question to anyone who has a PS3 with HDMI. I just got a Samsung LED tv, when I'm playing CoD, it seems as if the video isn't good quality. An HDMI would help? I probably sound stupid but I'm not really all that smart when it comes to tech.. Thank you!

  • @zZGoldenGamerZz hell yeah!!! would be better wit any ps3 game not just COD

  • I Have A HDMI Port On My Phone :D

  • @07liberian What kind of phone do you have?

  • Dont skimp on hdmi, they truly make a difference from component cables. And you can only watch blu ray on hdmi.

  • can i use it as an TV antenna

  • Rainbow Fish Corporation will soon have a fiber optic HDMI cable, it will be up to 300 meter without the need for a repeater

  • Not all HDMI cables are the same, more expensive ones have more pure copper inside, and yes they digital signal but with cheaper HDMIs the signal can get distorted, especially over time cheap HDMIs get more and more distorted.

I had £5 HDMI cable from amazon and it made movies look really grainy and bitty, so i bought a higher quality (and more expensive) cable for £40 and it cleared it up straight away.

high quality HDMIs are overpriced way beyond what they can do, but they are better...

  • I have an HDMI TV and my movies and Video games are so crisp

  • good vid, answered most of my questions

  • What is HDMI, THE REAL TRUTH! remember those red, green, blue cables, or just like buddy said super video cable, well the video aspect is the same! The audio is digital coaxial like that old style coax on your surround receiver that is the same type of cable used on video composite or left and right speaker connections. All an HDMI cable is all those into one, same video quality and sound! There is no difference in quality. It's an idiot proof connecting technology that is a rip off!

  • Ohkay, so I got a flip slide HD and it says HDMI at the end of the camera - if I got a HDMI cord or something, would it make my videos HD? I'm so confused.

  • ApFagTech

  • @frassify18 ApFaqtech

  • Why is the senior editor confused about an s-video cable not providing audio? It's a VIDEO cable...lol

  • HDCP. AWESOME.

  • w00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! tech nerds suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cables are not analog

    just the hardware

  • Why isn't this in HD?

  • @wearemarathons

this was made in 2007 dude

youtube didnt support even 720p back then

  • Does anybody know where I can get an cheap HDMI cabel for my ps3 ?

  • I'm using an HDMI cable on my 40" HDTV right now. :D

  • I am using an HDMI to HDMI cable (HD 5870 to 32" LCD TV) now but the quality looks terrible in comparrison to DVI to VGA... any tips for quality optimization ??

  • @GF9400GT it only looks SHIT because youre watchin SD stuff...-.-

  • so you get better audio and video resolution than normal HD? i wanna get one for my xbox360 but im not sure its worth the 30$

  • "God forbid you have to get up from your couch, you lazy fuck."

  • i want to be answered me the following questions: 1. has the hdmi v1.4 better signal than the simple hdmi? and 2.is a long hdmi cable better than a short hdmi cable ? PLEASE REPLY ME !!

  • WAHAHAHAH i got this cable for less than 7 bucks and it worrks fine on my 50" TV =)

  • can someone tell me i looked on ebay for ps3 gold plated hdmi cable and all of them where for under 4 £. are these real or fake? and should i get them??

  • @mikeMOrocks the gold plated and all the fancy shit is a acronym for fancy bullshit

  • Its a shame that the WII is not in HD.

  • how do u make the audio come out of the tv it only comes out of the laptop ? plz if u know reply to me plzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • If you life in the netherlands, buy you hdmi cable here Hdmikabelshop . nl

  • can i connect my tv with the pc with this cable?

  • yup. as long as both your tv and pc both have HDMI inputs, youre good to go! im actually running through my 22" HDTV right now with crystal clear resolution

  • Yes, if you have HDMI input on your TV and PC. Just plug it in, and select HDMI source on your TV. Hope this helps, my english is bad.

  • google translate fail

  • can hdmi carry surround sound signals??

    plz answer

  • Yes.

  • Yes, it's the ultimate cabel.

  • I use my ps3 with hdmi and the graphics are sick!!

  • @cool1524 indeed

  • @cool1524 I have HDMI on ps3 aswell, well the graphics arent better, but you get a sharper picture ( More pixles ) that makes it more smooth ;)

  • @cool1524

    buy a PC<stop complaining :P

  • @X3BOOODYX2012 obviously he owns a pc he commented.

  • @MrSpud9000

omg, you're the last one who I expected to reply on me.

I was tring to make a joke.

  • @siegfred484 Xboxs for fags

  • How would you know what fags like you must be one.

  • i have a vizio and a timewarner box and the tv wont recognize the cable. plz help!

  • HDMI cable transmites both Video and Audio. no other cables needed to connect two HDMI devices (HDMI source=DVD player / X box / etc. to HDMI display= TV / monitor

  • i have a 23 inch HDTV and i dont know why it came with 2 HDMI slots-i think one is enough

  • Well, you might want the other one for surround sound.

  • I just bought a HDTV and a home theater system to which I havent a clue of how to hook up. This video helped me, I guess i have to buy a HDMI cable.

  • What is Ethernet cable?

  • a cable that allows you to connect to the internet/network

  • so (for my xbox), i have an hd tv, but no surround sound. do i buy a hdmi cable, or just a hd av cable?

  • well there are two things that you need for optimal surround and HD picture. an HDMI cable and an Optical cable. connect the HDMI cord from your xbox to your tv then the optical cord goes from your tv to your surround sound. if your surround is a modern one then most definately you should have an optical input on it. then set your surround sound input to Digital IN.

  • Can I hook my xbox to my laptop and play on my laptop screen because they both hdmi outputs?

  • Laptop screens cannot produce console output as of yet.

  • Yes, defenetely connect them by HDMI cable and all will work perfect: Audio and Video. Pretty soon, HDMI will embed 3D resolutions support. It is going to be really super HD stereo pictures and surround sound and all those will flow through the only one cable connection. Very very convinient and less cables.

  • @CoreyR2009: Your laptop has an output, not an input.

  • um well im getting the ps3 slim in two days so i have something to get past.. one deal comes with free hdmi cable and the other comes with a free game (it does not say which one) both $490

so its better grafics vs a unknow game?????

  • if i was u i would get the game deal because i got an hdmi cable off ebay for £1.75 + free postage. (game would cost more)

  • what if you want audio to come out of stereo speakers?

  • gettung a ps3 slim soon(i no a slim but its cheaper) i dont no if i should go HDMI or the normal settings my tv is Sony Bravia and i intend to only use it at my house and mostly play games

  • My TV runs HD when im on my xbox 360would having a HDMI cable make my HD better????????

  • I guess it does, for example, if you use component cables (analogue) then switching to HDMI (digital) would definitely be the best option.

  • yes it does, ive noticed its much better quality.

  • yes

  • im not going to preorder now , im going to go and look at which deal looks better. thx

  • She should be saying better "definition" and not better "resolution". No cord will change resolution on monitor.

  • I bought The Dark Knight on Blu-ray can I play it in my DVD player through my Baird Television Model T.5 using a HDMI cable?

  • no. you need a bluray player

  • Does that only play blue movies?

  • no it plays dvd's and blurays

  • So what plays blue movies?

  • a ps3 or a blu ray player

  • VHS

  • no, you need a blu-ray player to play blu-ray discs

  • Can you play a dvd on a cd-rom drive?

    No.

  • I can.

  • okay

  • my HDMI cable is bullshit!

it only has resolutions up to 480p, 1080i, 720p, where the hell is the 1080p?!

man I am so pissed off by that ;(

  • It goes to 1080p on the Xbox 360

  • all hdmi cords supply 1080p. and everything that has hdmi inputs r 1080p, except for certain kinds of old hdtv's.

  • Actually that is not True, Not everything has 1080p capabilities. My Standard DVD player has HDMI, but it can only up-convert to a Low 720p.

  • ya and players too. frgt to mention that lol. but yeah all hdmi CORDS r 1080p

  • LOL i loved how the dude rolled up his eyes when he said "Copyright Portection" LMAO!! "Fucken Hollywood!"

  • I have an HDMI output in my LCD tv, does that mean I have HD capabilities for my tv? Like connection to a blue ray player and seeing HD movies?

  • yes

  • Im trying to connect my Xbox 360 to a monitor using hdmi but I dont want to use the monitor's audio. How can I use my home theater speakers? Is there any way or does the hdmi force me to use the audio its connected to?

  • You need an optical RCA dongle.

  • @moises0369 if your monitor has an audio out then you can go from that to your surround sound. thats all i can think of

  • @moises0369 If the monitor has audio output, you might be able to use that.

  • What is the maximum length cable you can use and what are you looking for when the signal fails ie, does it pixel out or the image blur,s, if its a digital signal then the way I see it, the signal is lost and there no picture, but at what point ?

I know that there is no difference between cheaper and expensive cable only in build quality and cheaper cable can pick-up nose due to the screening. but how does this interruped zero and ones. how does static interrup a digal signal.?

  • one last thing hdmi carries dts and super audio or dvd audio can you take for granted that all modern components can except the digital conversion

  • thank you, at least i learned what HDMI is, i just bought a new lcd yesterday and didnt know whats the deal with that.

  • 12.97 at Zellers

  • expensive.

  • HDMI cables should not be expressive. Stop going to Best Buy to buy HDMI cables..Rocket fish, dynex, monster. Hdmi cables cost very little to make.

  • if you paid more than 20 bux for a hdmi cable your a tool....do a little research bozos

  • this was posted in 2007

  • $20?

    WTF?

  • i have an HD lcd tv with HDMI slots, but my dvd home theatre system does not have any HDMI slots, because it uses RCA cables! how can i use my HDMI cable to connect my tv and my dvd home theatre system? is there a converter?

  • you could use conponent cables instead if it has it they're almost as good

  • $20????? i dont think so

  • Yep, they have them even for 10 bucks at certain sites.

  • Everyone getting into HT & HDTV all seem to bitten by the "Monster Cable" bug. They will gladly give up $150 for a 6 ft. HDMI cable and not realize the quality and expensive features of the cable (like those gold plated connnectors) are simply not necessary for passing a bit stream. Save your hard-earned dollars - a well-made $25 Belkin cable will do you just fine. Don't believe all that Monster hype. And for short distances, like under 10 feet, cable speed is way over-rated.

  • @ApFaqTech ye but the really good ones,, are 60-90 bucks,, mine was a sale type thing it was like60-70 an i got it for 40 bucks

  • @ApFaqTech i got mines for $1.19 at Amazon. HAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @ApFaqTech I got mine for $2 during Ps3's launch from monoprice. Hasn't failed me at all.

  • How can I get picture to expand entire screen without the zoom feature keeping at 16:9; Does the HDMI cable have any impact on this?

  • It might, however this problem can usually be corrected in the tv settings.

  • MY PC DOESNT HAVE A S VIDEO PORT!! ? So To Hook my pc to da tv i need dis hdmi cable????????????????

  • Let's review your grammar, shall we?

    1. "Proper English" shouldn't be capitalized.

    2. The phrase, "fucking moron" needs a verb & a subject to justify the use of a full stop.

    3. The sentence, "YO...", requires reported speech punctuation.

    4. The aforementioned sentence is ambiguously connected to the one that follows.

    5. A comma is required after an interjection like "ugh".

    6. "Embarrassing" need not be capitalized.

Honestly, who cares if he didn't use the Queen's English? You're no better.

  • wow you owned him

  • i agree best verbal ownage ever lmfaooo

  • How pretentious can you really be to stop and waste your time trying to educate someone who doesn't give a rip on a subject matter of HDMI cables? You're more of a loser than the guy you're trying to put in his place. Way to be a dick, greenie.

  • @methylsoy haha, you owned him.

  • @methylsoy wow you know what you saidd

you ars really a person inteligent

i dont see the diferences that you see

thx for your colaboration in the best wait to understand the englisss

  • I'm cuckoo for HDMI. I need more and more HDMI inputs. I want more HDMI outputs. Get rid of S cables, DVI, AVG RCA jacks etc on everything. Just hang with HDMI all the way. Now is HDMI audio better than fiber optic? Then get rid of that to on my surround 7.1 receiver. And just because you don't need sound on a Monitor, isn't HDMI still better than DVI-D, if just for the easy to bend smaller size cable and easyer to plug in? Just Two HDMI inputs and one output on my computer monitor will do

  • if your having problems, buy the HDMI cable that is made by the company of your tv. hope i help

  • no ps3 is awesome way better than the 360

  • I totally agree with you.

  • u said it

  • Ok, so once I get the HDMI cable and hook up the cable box to the t.v., is it going to work? Or do I need no subscribe with the cable company to receive the service?

So am guessing the picture quality will look better?

  • You have to make sure that your cable company provided you with HD channels first of all, otherwise you won't get HD resolution through HDMI. Only some of the overall offered channels will be in HD.

  • HDMI ftw

  • For many people HDMI+digital TV receiver + LCD screen , the picture is worse than the analogue signal. (red lightening pixel, especially in Logos and screen text). Many incompatibilities with PANASONIC VCR and Samsung LCD screen! As long as you don't have high definition receiver you should use your SCART cable , even for digital TV.

  • HDMI 1.3 is the cable/software specification for the HDMI cable. 1.3 allows HD audio and higher bit-rate video to go through the hdmi cable.

  • so does this have anything to do with playing hd games on your hd tv or only the computer for instance i want to play hd games on my hd tv should i go out and buy this or should i go and buy the cable with the coulurz blue green and red please reply bak thankz

  • lol whatever

i had to get a HDMI cable for my 360

and it cost around $70 for a 5 foot one

  • you still need to get this HDMI thing even though the xbox 360 cable has the Red, Blue, and green cable thing????

  • The blue red green cable is Component cable and it provides hd just like the HDMI, the HDMI cable provides true 1080p though.

  • So can I play My 360 in 720p HD with a HDMI or do I have to use the Component?

  • Either one works fine.

  • Okay nice info but we now have 1.3a,s,c... so be sure to match up or aways go with 1.3c and up and your covered for those whom simply aren't sure wgich is best or needed to cover all bases. I use 1.3c to cover everything. And plan to pay a bit more then 20 bucks. Not many under 23 or so. Its all about the send sigs and recvg sig abilities of that unit (s).

Keep in mind digital is cleaner but not always better.

  • I have had negative experience with digital TV in combination with HDMI. HDMI effectively only works with High Definition TV and Blu-Ray. For normal analogue or normal digital TV , use SCART! Less is sometimes more!

  • To confirm... If I get a PC with an HDMI output, can I hook it up to my TV, so I can use my PC essentially on my TV?

  • Yeah pretty much, your TV has to have the HDMI port though.

  • So what's the difference between an HDMI picture and an HD picture?

  • There is no such thing as HDMI picture. HDMI is the cable that is used to transmit a HD signal.

  • Okay, thanks.

  • So does it matter what HDMI cable I get? Will one HDMI cable work for my HDTV and consoles when used apart?

  • Yes, pretty much all HDMI cables deliver the same quality of video and parts. Usually the difference in price is the difference in materials used to make the cable.

  • Awesome! Thanks man:)

  • HDMI or Passthrough? I read this regarding an Onkyo HTIB receiver."means that video and audio are passed-through the HDMI like its a switch, the audio is not processed by the receiver and is sent through the HDMI to the HDMI source"..."I ended up getting a couple of optical cables and that is how the sound comes through from my HDMI devices" Guess hes saying that the audio isnt processed by the 5.1 receiver til he used optical cables? Can u xplain plz? Looking 2 buy a HTIB. Thx

  • i just have a question.

    i dont have a hdtv

i just have the normal tv the multisystem

    wats that cable?

will my normal tv will have hd?

    if i have that cable?

    not finished the vid..

too long i just want to know dis thing

  • No if you have a normal tv that does not have any of those connectors, then it is a non HD tv.

  • You just said you don't have an HDTV and then asked if you SDTV could produce HD. Doesn't make much sense.

  • Can I plug in my Dell M1530 into my TV if it's not HD? If yes, how?

  • could i plug regular cables(Red, yellow, and white) into the component inputs the one with 5 colors? and have it still work just not HD

  • Yep, those cables also work so you don't need to buy the actual component cables.
