Creation astronony is easy. Put earth in the center , immovable , and on several pillars. Then set the sun and planets orbitting it. Then galaxies and so on . The galaxies far away need to move really fast :) Keep asking yourself what 2+2 = and when you really have to think about that STOP READING creationist books, your brain is going on holiday !
@SqueakerAlpha You are wrong!!! "...Then set the sun and planets orbitting it." No, you set the stars and planets on the dome or firmament that covers our flat earth. Also, there are no galaxies far away. Andromeda (not counting the Magellanic Clouds orbiting ours) is the only one that can be seen with the naked eye from a dark location. It is nothing more than a smudge in the firmament created when God slipped with the paint brush.
The immediate atheist response to a statement like this is usually to make jokes about fairies and flying spaghetti monsters but their inability to acknowledge this as even a possibility makes any intellectual investigation they do pointless. They're forced into a position of coming up with alternate explanations for what Christians know is truth.
For fun discussion without the usual Atheist/Christian ranting, check out my channel.
I don't think that her method of analysis is not scientific. It's more a cynical view on textbooks which were written by VERY religious people to try and make the world fit their belief and not the not the other way around.
With this in mind I believe she is very justified in calling them crap before reading them.
I am certainly not pro-creationism, but I find it amazing how you label books "crap" BEFORE you have studied their arguments. Perhaps you are, after all, more suited to the religious approach than the scientific one?
check out Cyrus Reed Teeds theory. i think it is the truth !...there is no non - creationist astronomy, because Kepler Einstein and Newton believed in God and the Bible, so did they all make crap ? this theories are all according to the bibles astronomy, it says, the earth is round and build upon nothing. Einstein disproved that the earth is revolving around itself, because, it has no cause for. moon does not revolve for the same reason
Thanks for showing your undeniable bias towards the "bunch of crap" before you even read it. Your premature suggestions that creationists don't have a lot of astrological books shows that you are unaware of their arguments and have made up your mind beforehand. I will be interested in how you respond, whether scientifically or less than so.
According to the University of Crapola Universal Sheister poll August 5th 3009, you really were the turd in the machine this year. Great to see you agian Mooeypoo! Yes you are right, the books are Crap, however, In the field of intuitive science (mysticism,i.e., the search for the great by the little) there is the concept that the universe is evolved out of unqualified consciousness and that the force that binds the consciouness is not a blind force like electicity, because it acts on the body of consciousness. You my refer to my video or look into Brahmacakra (circle of creation).
Looking forward to see the series. You will do a great job! I appreciate you taking this seriously and making the effort of buying those books...Hope you'll choose a name that will attract creationists...(now I'm too serious :P )
I own the "Astronomy and the Bible" book. Since I'm an astronomer, a well-meaning but misguided family member gave it to me years ago figuring I would enjoy it. It's infuriating and depressing to read, especially considering the author actually *teaches* physics & astronomy.
I think you almost have the name in the title of your video: CReationist Astronomy Project (CRAP) That should lure the believers in, at least until you whack them with the acronym. I'm looking forward to this series, and I may even be tempted to buy those books myself!
Holy shhhh man! I was prepared to read some fantastic name inventions after (finally, it's been a long time) seeing this one of mooeypoo's videos, and you got me erm.. very impressed :) right at the start!
The strongest point in their favor is the notion that our observable universe in fact did have a beginning, albeit several billion years earlier than they claim. Also, current thought is the beginning sort of stretched out of a point much smaller than the head of a pin.
Actually, that's the weakest. Their belief is the one that claims "matter came from nowhere" (because God created it out of nothing) while physics does NOT (the "big bang" doesn't mean there was no matter, it means there was no known universe.. time was created as well in the Big Bang).
I find it hilarious when they are the ones who claim our theories contradict the laws of thermodynamics...
My understanding of current big bang is that there is no explanation as to where the matter came from. The best explanation that I've heard is that it came from a collision of 2 "branes". Time's creation with the big bang fits well with that St. Augustine claimed hundreds of years ago.

Actually the fact that people are dying and hurting in their billions is because of Re-Li-Gion... Not Science.

I'm sorry. You are seriously fucked up. I humbly suggest you spend more time on serious issues at video.google. 10 minutes is good, but 2 hours is much better. Volume 2? You mean "GOD DID IT" took more then one volume? That's interesting...
At some point they must say the earth or at least the solar system is the center of the universe, clearly placing themselves way beyond anything they can scientifically support or even convince laymen of (except perhaps some conspiracy nuts who think the moonlanding was a hoax). I'm guessing this is way they avoid this subject like the plague... :)

Yes, the question is not whether or not a god is plausible, the question is how much science is there in these books.
The answer is quite less than you'd want, considering the fact they CLAIM to be scientific.
Notice that I didn't pick purely theistic books, I picked books that claimed to be scientific. We'll see about that, won't we...
