The cost of the equivalent vacation I took in 1977 of the whole vacation to Montauk,NYC,Etc and return back home if it was all done today would be equal to the cost of driving to San Diego California in 1977 with the gas, accomidations, etc.
Toll is very expensive today considering that the same 426 miles from Buffalo to New York City line and 426 miles from the New York City line back to the I-190 interchange at Buffalo is a total of 852 miles. It is about $22 dollars in toll fee to NYC. And about $20 dollars in total toll fee back to Buffalo using the exact same route section. So you need about $45-$50 dollars in toll fees today. That does not include gas cost, food, bridge fees, and lodging fees.
