glutamine is bullshit. no evidence. cratine makes some people retain water. u dont really need it. vitamins and protein are the basics. the rest is useless in most cases or makes a 0.5% difference on ur body. not worth.
michelle you are so pretty! Are you still competing? You haven't updated us in a while. Thank you so much about the Bob's tip...I have been searching for unflavored Whey to use in food that does not call for unusual flavors!
vitamin d is a fat-soluble vitamin, (stores in fat cells - liver) it can be toxic in large doses & is not normally recommended as a supplement. (eg. living in places with little sun exposure can be an exception). I would consult your doctor before supplementing high doses of vitamin d.

Lots of poor comments here. Creatine is number 1 without a doubt due to increase in lean body mass in placebo controlled studies. None of the others are going to show any difference except maybe whey isolate. Give her.
i definitely agree with her supplement list only whey protein is #1 if u have to choose just one. Also the whole point of supplements is to get them into ur muscles as soon as possible so i would avoid pill stuff since u have to wait for the pill to release the stuff inside and depending on how much ur taking ur probably gonna be taking a lot more than just one pill at a time.
I've tried many different Pre-Workout supplements and they help a lot in terms of getting me into the gym. If anything, that is worth their weight in gold. The energy, the pump, feeling of well being is great going into the gym especially if you were sluggish and probably not going to go otherwise. Mare times than I can count have I felt like not going, chugged my pre and went and had a great workout. Just make sure the pre has high dosages and is not a proprietary blend, like Muscletech.
Creatine is the biggest bb supplement prehaps in history..but it is NOT a number one suplement!! heres a list for ya..: 1. Water (true not a supplement but most important)
2. A great multi V.
3. Efa's
4. whey protein....or protein supplement of your choice..though whey is rated as the best overall.
5. Additional antioxidant... examples: Alpha lipoic acid, Vit c, e, zinc chromium
6. Cla
The supplements you recommend are all great and I do use them all plus more on top.. continued..
you dont need any of those supplements, uneccessary unless your serious athlete and deprived of food.
ive taken everything on your list in the past, minus the CO ENZYME, and i can tell you all unecessary and waste of money.
normal diet covers all of them, and artificial supps, dont give any added benefits. You dont believe, discontinue taking all of them, and you'll see no difference in perfromance
Please look into raw foods as you can easily exceed your daily vitamin requirements with a mere 1,000 calorie "meal" = Green Smoothies = 40% organic greens blended with 60% organic fruit & spring water. No powders, potions or pills.
Here's my question: I currently take creatine monohydrate and I cycle it on and off about every 2-3 weeks. Am I supposed to do the same with the BCAA's or no? thanks in advance
For myself and many others who follow my regimen the role of essential fats is a complete must and just as important as whey protein, vitamins and minerals
i couldn't agree more! Although i only supplement the parent omega 3 source (ALA), and also the concentrated EPA and DHA to ensure i'm getting enough beyond what i'm likely converting. Want to take advantage of the heart healthy benefits, along with the other benefits too! You're right on the money -- and thanks for the valuable comment. And you look great -- nice to see someone living what they preach :)
Thank you for the compliment Michelle (i'm prsuming thats your real name) and yes i do practice what i preach and try to help others as much as possible but over here in the UK we're not as health conscience as people in the US and we certainly dont have the products either although if you eat what nature intended us to eat you shouldnt go far wrong!
May i ask, have you read a book titled the "paleo diet"..? And keep up the great working you're doing ; )
Hi Chellfit, i'm JJ and i reside in the UK. I find your video interesting and informative altho, i feel it definately misses the complete and essential reason for taking essential fats..IE omega 3,6 and 9.
Would like to know what you think about them as from my personla experience, i consume around 80-100grams a day of essential fats and it the health benefits are incredible as well as helping me maintain a yearly bodyfat of around 8-10%
Good for you! I typically take around 1000 IU's daily, but will cut back on that if i happen to be taking in dairy with added vit D, or if i happen to be out in the sun a lot (i'd take real sun in exchange for supplements any day!!). In the winter, especially in the Northwest, i make sure to take 1000 IU's daily, plus a little extra in my multivitamin :) Thanks for watching!!
hey emichaelt817! :) I've found Kre-Alkalyn to be a good choice because of its buffered capsule form. Much easier on the GI system. The "problems" with H2O retention that some complain of are typically with the monohydrate form. I'm skeptical of creatine causing H2O retention. I think it may have more to do with bowel irritation (therefore ill absorption) and fluctuations in sodium (diet and supplement related). Either way, Kre Alkalyn gives the best results and keeps my GI happy :)
Thank you! Very kind :) I like Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% NATURAL whey protein. It's the only one i've found, so far, that has no artificial colors, flavors, or chemical sweeteners. Good stuff. (And as far as taste . .. not so bad, but i usually use it as a base for more flavorful shakes, so it's all good!) Thanks for the comment!
Hi Michelle, thanks for the recs! I've often been fascinated by these "coenzymes" and "cofactors", such as SAMe, TMG, DMG, MSM, what do you think about these?
Ah! Flashbacks of undergrad O-Chem in college! lol. love it. It's amazing when you think of all of the biochemical processes that happen in the body which allow us to utilize nutrients and build our bodies, and how this wouldn't be possible without enzymes (and coenzymes and cofactors). I haven't looked specifically or with great detail at the ones you mention in your post, but i'm with you on the fascination of the role of enzymes . . . thanks for the comment! :)
Vitamin C would be on the top of my list if giving anyone advice. Vitamin C has a huge affect on increasing insulin levels and decreasing that cortisone you said was preventing people from having flat tummies.
In the gym builders are using insulin as a cheap form of roids for its direct impact on increasing natural levels of testosterone so for someone who aint into sticking needles in themselves Vitamin C is a sure way to get a boost in you workouts and recovery!
What are you on about? creatine is the best supplement to use with protein for building muscle+ power and some fat burning not much though. Vitamin C DOES NOT GIVE ENERGY. Vitamins and minerals are just regulators they have no "power" effect what so ever. Great vid btw, too many vitamin supplements which are readily found in food. And insulin is not a form of roids, guys at the gym rather use Test-P instead of insulin ;p
I am on about a natural alternative to roids for increasing testosterone without resorting to roids. I have never used roids and never will. I dont have the need to as I am already large and withing 4 months at the gym I am huge again. Creatine is well and truly documented for its side effects and shouldnt be put across to amateurs as to used as frequently as possible. A few months on and a few months off to clean your system of excessive deposits. But yes it is a great Vid other than that.
You are welcome! For Kre-Alkalyn (creatine), i usually take 1/2 20 minutes or so before working out. That's usually enough time to get well into your system. Same with a single dose of capsule BCAA's. Powder BCAA's and powder glutamine (in the workout drink) is during workout -- weights and cardio. And the other 1/2 of Kre-Alkalyn and a protein powder (with a carb is ideal) is within 30 minutes after workout. Commerical protein powders usually have a dose of glutamine as well. Hope that helps!
Hi, can you please elaborate on the timing of taking these supplments? 30 min before workout? During workout? Right after? Thank you so much for putting up all the helpful information!

you take alot of UNECCESSARY supplements, pills and powders may i say so.
so u take, CREATINE,BRANCHED CHAINED AMINO ACIDS,GLUTAMINE,WHEY POWDER,CO ENZYME 10,MULTI VITAMIN,CALCIUM & MAGNESIUM,FISH OIL,VITAMIN D
One question = WHY ?
are you bodybuilder? do you play American Football? are you a Wrestler? are you in the OLYMPICS?
Its admirable your interest in supps, health and nutrition etc.. but you dont need most of that.
maybe MULTI VITAMIN,FISH OILS, if you must

the way i was always showed was;
1.vitamins/minerals
2.protein
3.aminos/bcaa
4.glutamine
but you should choose supplements based on your goals. my offseason and precontest supplements are completly different.
off-season: whey protein, glutamine, multivitamin sometimes creatine.
pre-contest: egg protein, multi vit/min., glutamine, bcaa, cla, CoQ10, vit c/e and sometiems i where had other EFA's.
i'm curious why she chooses fish oil over flax seed oil? , research shows flax seed is more effective
