He meant to say $4.8 trillion ....... the government ALWAYS lies about the cost of government. The word trillion is thrown around like the word billion was 20 years ago! One thousand times cost increase in everything the government does, in just 20 years. It does not take an idiot to see where this is going .......
But your congressman is not? Who is the idiot and the liar in the face of the level of government spending we have seen over the past 20 years?
Are you 10?
Where have you been since the 70's. Gas 10 years ago was $1.25 @ gal, 2 years ago was $4 at the pump and $140 a barrel, and that was after 25x speculation. Now gas is over $3 and $80 a barrell. What did refining gas get harded in the past year? No your being suckered, with a cookie to the insurance brokers as a distraction, fool
ok you lost me here. what does gas price have to do with healthcare? (on a side note: things get more expensive. it is called inflation but I am no expert on energy costs)
Inflation huh, as I said the price of Gas tripled in 10 years. As did the price of everything, including healthcare and insurance based on markets, not actual price.
Your being ripped off and you think it is inflation. Healthcare insurance will be traded on markets, allowing speculation with your health.
300% rise over 10 years, sounds about the right inflation rate of 3% to me.
still you lost me. connection to oil and gas prices? healthcare costs went up... noo you answer this one. take a guess! oh, alright if you insist; it went up because of improvements in medicare and life expectancy and of course the insurrance companies filling their pockets. so you are in favor of the public option to lower theese costs again?
I can not give you a basic supply and demand economics lesson. The medical industry knows they can charge you anything they want and you will pay that price, endless need & limited doctors. You will sell your house if your going to die, so that is what you can be charged. The only way such a system can stand, is the prices are agreed by payment. This where insurance comes in, it allows a system to inflate to way past its real value. As long as the ins. co. pays higher than you, you can't pay.
So being against insurance as a model, I am firmly against the government even getting into the insurance business. period.
No one word about the cost of the healthcare industry price gouging, not affordable yet still charged because you CAN NOT SAY NO!
Maybe if the government would quit taxing the people and quit making love to huge insurance, financial, energy, and corporate interests, the people could work, save money, gain wealth, and easily be able to afford healthcare!
'yo can not say no' now that is a totally different argument from oil prices and healthcare costs and the first time I have heard it.
however you say costs have inflated disproportionately and this is true, you draw the wrong conclusion however because this is exactly the reason government should move in with a public option. mandatory or not.
