  • I had those exact carpets...

  • it was good, but it might have been a bit weak on a real kit(i'm not bashing or trolling here) Keep drumming dude :)

  • guy it's heel down, not flat foot... or are you flat feet guy?

  • @ragrapios Yeah that's heels down!!

  • If you didn't have a car city carpet as a kid, your parents didn't love you.

  • this technique only works micd up and elec kits, on an acoustic set at band practice no one will hear you

  • @ bobbert209, yeah i agree lol. you need to get some power into your footwork, because unless you plan on staying on electric kits or buying triggers your entire drumming career, you kind of fail.

the beaters are only moving a couple inches :/

  • i think the pedal is a Yamaha double pedal

  • what kind of pedal is that??????

  • @anhiro0610 It's the yamaha flying dragon peal, direct drive.

  • what pedal is that?

  • I think it sounds a little sloppy TBH, electric kits have to be really expensive in order to get the real feel, and at that, the real feel comes free with a cheap acoustic kit,

  • still have that carpet on my floor as we speak

  • cheat mode

  • Shins of steel!

  • lol. play on a real acoustic set and you fail.

    0 / 10

  • oh wow i actually have that exact carpet somewhere in my house

  • wtf.

  • are those pedals gibraltar intruder direct drive or yamaha flying dragon direct drive pedals

  • i use that flat feet style too

  • can you do it that loud on a regular kit???

  • I have those same pedals.

  • damn dude you are amazing. keep it up

  • Numb shins at all? LOL!

  • electric kits=triggers not hard to do

  • Not true, shitty triggers are easy to play on; however a good trigger, yamaha, roland, and axis can differentiate between an accent or ghost note on the hands , and callibrate how hard you are pressing against your bass pedal to accomodate a replicated tone of what would occur at that velocity and dynamic heighth. at certain velocities bass drums arnt allotted enough time to resonate and 200 + sounds a bit blurry, thats where the trigger comes in my friend, not to cheat, rather, it amplifies it.

  • Double kick is actually really hard to do on a pad. I've just bought an electronic kit and it has such little rebound that it's a lot harder to go fast on.

  • @bardoxvideos i acually find it the opposite. im insanly good with my feet on an eletric compaired to my acustic. I have the technique locked but i lack strength.

  • thats heel down. flat foot has heel raised slightly using the hip flexors for the movement. still impressive to see somepne play death metal heel down and be consistant clean and tight with their movements.

  • this harder than it looks guys

  • Why the hell are you watching the toes idiot, watch his technique instead...

  • May be easy on an electric kick, but try an acoustic.

    Anyway, that's fucking sick man!

  • I miss those carpets :'(

  • same LOL

  • @Ninjuggla fuck yeah!!!:O

  • @Ninjuggla

    My brother still owns it.

  • @iiPetru Nice. Mine are long-gone, I think.

  • yamaha flying Dragon Direct-Drive

  • hahaha love the rug underneath it

  • I used to play cars on that exact carpet when I was a little kid.

  • @raine697 LOL i had the exact same one too

  • @raine697 omg o__O same here dude!

  • that is a badass carpet

  • i can play heel up and down but that was badass

  • i cant play heel up--anymore...somthing happened nd i cant do it no more...so i play flat footed..nd it woks good

  • i just play heel up. its way easier to go faster without fucking up the beat.

  • heel down is bad for your ankels

  • finger technique is bad for your hands... really? c'mon

  • what kind of pedal?

  • im not really a drummer im a guitarist, but when i do play drums i find this technique is way easier. i have allot more control with heel down.

  • man i use the same technique but u have way better speed

  • hahahahah

  • hey go with wut works...george kollias and chris adler has wierd techniques but it works for them

  • this is the same way i do them. People dont do it heel down because u have to work at it. They dont know that working at heel down will get u way faster than just using ur legs.

  • a7xrevsyn this is true until you get into the really insanely fast stuff in which every drummer must use swivel technique

  • lol, nobody need to use swivel it's only a matter of what you feel the most comfortable with , i can blast up tu 270bpm and i use ankle motion tech, it's pretty loud and tight , but i've mastered it , some poeple will master heel-toe or swivel .

  • i have trouble with this one..

  • y have that pedal

  • oh my shins or burning....

  • is your foot immune to pain or something?

  • I second that question.

  • dude your double kick goes out of time so often. way too fast for your hands so you definetly need to work on that

  • Nothing more to say, other than your a fag.

  • What kind of pedals are that??

  • Yamaha Flying Dragons

  • i had that carpet before :P it's awesome :P

  • omg same here lmao that carpet rulez

  • i had that too

  • i had that in my first bedroom i played with my hotwheels on that shit

  • that looks like heel down.

    not flat foot.

    thats what i see.

  • this is hell down technique, not flat foot

  • I thought it was a bit sloppy. Though, nice carpet!

  • sick

  • HA! i used to use that sweet matchbox car rug as a drum mat, too.

  • dude get those drums the fuck outa the way of that carpet they are blocking the fucking view

  • yeah thats a badass carpet, and my body also only accepts flatfoot, although Im trying to learn heel-up now. I play with one foot flat on the pedal and the other heel-up.

  • your carpet rocks man!... plus nice drumming

  • wow iv never seen anyone play flat foot like that, how did you manage that? do you do the bostic exercises?

  • nice electric drumset!

  • When the beater flopped at the last second I was like 0_0 WOW.

That's an interesting setting for the beater distance.

  • My beaters are perpendicular with the head, and I can't play flat foot. I always play heel up because I can't get the full effect of my beater distance without that. try to set your beaters like that, play for a while, then play on an iron corba. it's like the pedal's not even there

  • Oh, wow! You mean the beaters are 90 degrees apart from the head when your foot isn't on the pedal? I gotta give that a try. :-)

I'm using Eliminators, and I use heel-toe method for fast doubles at the moment.

I find the Cobra footboard a little too short for comfortable heel-toes.

  • exactly. are the eliminators the same as the p122tw, if so i use those as well

  • Oh, ok! Will try that setting out when I get the chance. :-) The Eliminators are the

    P-2002C.

  • I use heel up but lower my hells like George Kollias does. I've found that triplets and quadruplets are really easy to play super fast with heel down though.

  • i can do that... if i had shins of steel...

  • holy shin splints

  • you are right krachbummente.. toller name^^ show that on a real drum kid and we retalk

  • xD danke^^

  • you can just do this because u have an e drum kit...you could not hold this tempo with this technique on ar real one

  • I play and electric kit, and i find it easier to play double bass on an acoustic kit.

  • bull shit

  • No really its true.

  • Heel down on Flying Dragon!! Nice man you're awesome, that's a good thing you own that technique !

  • Flat Feet That Over-Pronate. Join The Club.

  • yep flat feet is the best way for fast drumming

  • i can just say wow.

  • haha dope carpet. I used to run my hotwheels all over that shit.

  • Nice control of the heel down technique ! Keep the good work

  • I HAVE THE SAME CARPET!

    GREAT VID!

  • hahaha i have that carpet and im in ametal band too. i show up at gigs and people ar eliek WTF lol play heal up.

  • infact thats a good way to play fast blast beats if your using flat foot teq

  • there are a few drummers on the kollias forum who play heel down... you can get it up to 220 - its just pretty much impossible after that...

  • doesnt ur leg freaking hurt after tht?

can only do 16 with flat lolxD

  • I've been playing that way for years. You can hear it on an acoustic bass just fine. In fact, since you're not "burying" the beater into the bass head, you get a lot more resonance and tone.

  • jajajaja try that on a acoustic drum set

you wont even hear the basedrum

  • attempt to use and acoustic bass drum

  • yeah flat feet out of time on an electric bass pedal...not realy impressive

  • i dont get wat hes doin

    is he doin anything special?

  • Everyone has that damn carpet -_- lol

  • you know that shit ;)

  • dude you'll never beleive this but check this out... I HAVE THE SAME EXACT CARP- jk

but seriously, I just wanted to mention that your technique is called heel-down not flatfoot which is another technique that doesn't necessarily require your whole foot on the pedal

  • Guys, isnt the video supposed to be about the drumming? Not the carpet? lol. But I had tht carpet when I was little too! lol

  • i had that carpet for like my whole life then playing in philyl we lost it.

    :[

    sick shit man

  • That's Heel Down technique, not flat foot

  • i had that carpet when i was a kid too but i fell asleep on it and pooped my pants and it dripped all over the carpet so we put it in the garage

  • ha!

  • my cousin from singapore has the same carpet!!!

  • oh my goodness.

  • haha i had tht carpet wen i was a kid

  • hey man what ever works

  • I have the same carpet!=D

  • dude, i have my set on the SAME EXACT carpet.

  • Нихуя так не правильна,и че ебахи наводить такой техникой?нахера пятки не отрывать?Куда большего можна добицо с поднятыми пятками.

  • BALLS IN MY FACE

  • NICE COOMMENT

  • nice carpet ^^

  • cool :) what makes your pedal?

  • looks like a yamaha flying dragon i think

  • It's awesome. But that is heel-down. Not flat feet. :)

  • indeed.

  • I can only recommend to every flat feet player, he should try to play heel down for a week, he will be surprised, after this week, when he returns to flat feet! ;)

  • i got flat feet aswell

  • jajaja try playing on a acoustic drumset and you wont even hear the bease drum, heel down is a very weak techquine for base drum try flat foot technique that one is way better than heel down or heel up

  • ahaha man, nice

    and even cooler

i used to have that hot wheels toy car mat thing

    metal

  • nice carpet hahahhahha LOL

  • car city car maps make awesome drum rugs

  • :D lol it's cool as u stay up on the pedal, more like jazz way!! :D please comment my vid... any suggestion and idea is well accepted ;) cya all!! watch?v=Q9PwxcmhRKc

  • It just means that the muscles in your shin are stronger than the one in your ankle or calves. good job though!

  • its just cus of triggers =)

  • when i play i cant hear my bass drum it realy pisses me off how do you hit it so hard at high speeds

  • triggers?

  • yeah, triggers. you might be hitting the cymbals too hard too and drowning out stuff.

  • He's not hitting hard. It's an electric bass drum. No matter how hard you hit it will always sound the same volume. Same effects has using triggers.

  • i noticed that after i posted the comment i was like im stupid

  • u will never reach high high speeds.. and if u did.. u could of been faster!

  • nice carpet lol

  • cool, thats the way I play also

  • wow

  • now this is the real flat foot technique

  • wow you are where fast

  • nice carpet

  • do it better!!!

  • DUDE!!!

That's how I play double bass and I can blast with one foot.

  • thats in-fuckin-sane dude! how stong are your legs? must practise shit loads ay??

  • triggers are used usually for drummers that are able to play very fast but are not able to keep the same power in their stroke as if they were to be playing slower, when the beater hits the drum it triggers a bass drum sound so even if you hit the bass drum soft it would sound like ur hitting it full force, some people consider it cheating some dont, personally i think if you play fast then you should develop the power to go with it

  • you have the same rug as i did!

  • hahahahah me too! i still have that shit in my room

  • it sounds a lot faster when you trigger. i agree with you lets see it with just the pad

  • i dont use a trigger

to be honest i dont even know what they are used for

    can you explain please?

  • i want to listen/see the same technique without triggering... in a normal basedrum...

  • i have that exact same rug, i also have my set on it

  • thats how i do it when i play fast. but i play heel up other wise

  • nice man, also if not perfect... btw that is not flat foot technique... watch the vid by booster... your heel must be a few centimeter higher, not laying on the pedal... I mean,it's ok,but this stuff is the same used in soft music, called something like plant technique... in flat foot u got your feet horizontal...watch to my vids too, they're old,I was just so happy when it worked immediately ;) maybe u can merge these 2 tec,and become the king of double base :D

  • In other word, he uses heel down.

  • yep, of course.... also if it's strange using heel down for double base.... I think it's quite hard to have quality and power in the bounce with the base drum...

  • I feel the same way. I started off with heel down though. After I passed 140, I had to go heel up, because I couldn't gp that fast heel down.

  • nice pedal :)

    I have the same

  • jaajajajajajaj.. good set

  • awesome carpet

  • lol!

  • cool, but your mat is the best!:D:D

  • dude i love that beat at 00:22

  • dude wot set is this?

  • nice foot action, dude! film just your hair next time,

    or the pinky toe!

  • brilliant

  • that is not flat foot that is heel down

  • I know that :p

    It's a mistake ;)

But i have an excuse for that : I'm french ! And in my country we said : "pieds à plat"

  • lol...
