Air - Alone in Kyoto: this music composition I just happened to come across ... the music is so peaceful. The photos are beautiful and appreciate the creativity too!
Mono no aware (物の哀れ), literally "the pathos of things", also translated as "an empathy toward things", or "a sensitivity to ephemera", is a Japanese term used to describe the awareness of impermanence (無常, mujō), or the transience of things, and a gentle sadness (or wistfulness) at their passing. (Wikipedia)
Don't know why but this song always makes me cry, but in a good way. more like my body gets rid of all the bad emotions and feelings while I'm listening
I remember when I first saw Lost In Translation and the scene with the lovely Ms Scarlett and this music blew me away. So beautiful, so peaceful. Great stuff.
A year and a half ago i discovered this song, it was snowing and i was home alone in my apartment not having the happiest part of my life, helped my trough that period....
@TheInformedOne lol yeah i think everyone who watched that video had the exact same reaction, it took all but two seconds for me to be completely in love with this song.
beautiful music like this acts like a magnet to deep thinkers and old souls, air have made a habbit of writing gorgeous and challenging music for over ten years.
They used this in a BBC documentary on a girl named Yukina, who left her hometown and family for Kyoto, to study and become a Maiko. I am in love with this song.
These beautiful and magical sounds in my speakers...stereo... sounds so wonderful i can't precisely describe what i feel and what a amazing and lovely feelings create and go through my heart, mind and soul. I love this tune, love these sounds, love music.
Does Air have anything else as ambient as this? This song is the most relaxing song in my entire library. If not Air, can anybody recommend some other ambient stuff like this without crossing the boundary of new age by too much?
@pdw2188 : AIR's "Le Soleil est pres de Moi," "Modular Mix" & "Alpha Beta Gaga" are all pretty ambient. Anyway you can try them. Yeah, but this one is great. :)
ésta es la música que los realizadores del programa hak trick utilizaron para hacer el vídeo de apoyo a ABIDAL,una maravilla de vídeo y de música.FELICIDADES,y a ABIDAL,que pronto lo veamos de nuevo
@MrJas1991 dude i'm not surprised. i've cried many times to certain music, even sober. but when your in that state of consciousness, it's almost as if the barriers you've been conditioned to have are just removed completely, allowing you to truly feel things you wouldn't normally feel as much.
@broxboy86 is that what its called? lol ive for the longest time been wondering how to describe exactly what you said. I've always just called it "hopeful sad" haha. thanks.
Air so chill. Its like reaching a gentle metamorphose in your mind every time you listen. Its great cuz you feel like you have learnt something and feel renewed. Yo Digg
I was at the birthdayparty of the girl I was in love with. We slowdanced quite intimately when her boyfriend wasn't around. Later that night, I walked into the room while this song was playing and I saw my girl kissing her boyfiend very passionately. I wanted to cry my eyes out on that very moment, but instead I went back outside to smoke with the potheads to supress my emotions.
Essa é a música que mais eu ouvi em toda a minha vida, poesia sonora que me transporta ao Japão cada vez que ouço. Amo Air , Amo o Japão e Amo Kyoto!!!

Tokyo is without a doubt THE most amazing city i have ever been to. Just amazing, and Meji-Jingu Shrin is so beautiful. Just amazing. I would recommend a holiday to Japan to ANYONE
japan is actually the most amazing place. i went there for a family holiday and i had never really considered going to japan but it is actually my favourite place in the world.
@Iawyn um i've been to japan, italy, france, thailand, england, fiji, new zealand, hong kong, dubai but i've been to a few of those countries multiple times.
@eejw1 That's quite a few. I've only ever been to different parts of Canada and the US myself. I'm hoping to broaden that at some point. I've heard Japan is a great place, just very crowded.
P.S. That second "you" in my comment ages ago was meant to be a "to". Took me this long to notice heh
@buggyrun I think i have already written a comment for this video, but I want to thank you again for making this, and sharing with us. This song touches me in the deepest of ways. Also just watched Lost In Translation again last night, amazing music and amazing film
whoever is the owner of this video, how did you get this version of the song??? It's cut because the actual time of this song is 4:48. It might not seem like a big difference but the intro is much shorter. So I was wondering where'd you get this version of the song and if it would be possible if I could have it somehow.
@misterluissilva idd. Air have always done very clean recordings, and they should be listened to from CD or some lossless format, MP3 will never do them 100% justice.
It doesn't matter; this could have still been uploaded with minimal compression, which has nothing to do with the horrible, horrible clipping introduced because somebody doesn't know how to get their level right.
The idea of going to Kyoto, Tokyo or Japan never appealed to me ever. But after watching Lost In Translation and hearing this song play while Charlotte walks around aimlessly searching for inspiration might have just changed my mind.
@killerlipsonrai Really? Whenever I hear this song, I always get the inspiration to go hiking out in the bush. I suppose it does have many meanings for everyone.
