I was reworking a military manual that used the word affect alot. I used a red pen and changed them all to effect. I got chewed out and told they mean the same thing. There is a difference between effect and affect. Effect is most often used as a noun. When it is used as a verb, you would use it in expressions like "effect change," meaning "to bring about." Here, the correct word is "affect." You cannot "skew" a person, so the word William Shatner was searching for was "skewering." In theory, Fey could, through some diabolical plot, skew an election. However, that was not necessary, since Mrs. P skewered herself every time she opened her mouth!

As it stands, the media has too much invested in the Obama fad to turn on him this soon, but the day is rapidly approaching when Obama will have spent all his political capital and all he will have left to stave off ridicule will be the color of his skin.
Get angry or applaud. Either way, the outcome is inevitable.

May be a little bit phony about Palin. But it's far more the case for Obama, for Pelosi, for Hillary. Can't have a double standard - not where some of us are concerned. Shatner, a little bit phony. So what? It wasn't really Palin that lost, but McCain. And his people attacked her, too. You can see his Republican wasn't hers, as particularly expressed by McCain's own daughter. Palin's the only one who doesn't fade. And she scares the Dem! She nailed 'death panels'. Let's see what else she's got.

No, the dems aren't scared of Palin. Palin can run in 2012 --- that will be just fine to put a bunch of more nails in the GOP coffin, maybe even more than she did last election, with her piercingly sharp intellect! LOL!

As a conservative, I see the House of Representatives as all far too moderate to stand up for their States. Look at Texas pushing to use the 10th Amendment.
