After reading some of these comments I see a ton of people hating on Fenders MIM. I guess with that logic those people are either walking or driving a Lamborghini huh. I like Squire and MIM, MIK, MIJ and US made. I've seen players with the very best $3,000 guitar sound like poo and seen another artist with a partscaster create a new genre of music. If you think you can change minds by bashing the quality of guitars to people you don't know, it's you who look cheap!

I love mine, I did about every type of mod imaginable to it. I listed the pics and mods on amazon.com go to the page of this exact guitar. Youtube is not allow me to post the link. If you like you can check them out. I didn't touch the PUPs though I like them. I have a Squire II MIK 86', and a Tele custom 72 RI, I personally like MIM guitars, because I play them mostly instead of collecting them. To each there own. Congrats on your purchase.

mims suck dick i wanted this guitar and the road worn for a long fucking time its a waste. some squiers are better that mims. to me mims arent fender the real fender that david gillmor and clapton play are form FUCKING AMERICA and if you wanna go cheap but still get american get a american special for like $850 witch plays like a $1000 fender witch is better than geting a $400 doller mim that plays like a $FUCKING PEICE OF SHIT

@bluerobot999 This is such a false notion. Don't try to justify mid-level guitars to be better than something that is obviously of higher quality. I have played and owned quite a few gems of MIMs that definitely held their own against Americans, but the overall quality of American Fenders is without a doubt better.

A few years ago I had a Standard Mexican Fender Strat, and I have just gotten this guitar, identical to the one in the video. Although both guitars are Mexican, and the Blacktop is cheaper, I belive that the quality and sound of this one beats the standard. So on Mexican Fenders, the Blacktop is indeed better than the standard.

I have to correct you there. There is no single coil function in that switch exactly.... You can either have the inside 2 coils (P2) or the outside 2 coils (P4) (one coil from each bucker) Which is kind of retarded IMO but w/e i'm sure you could rewire it that way or switch it out to a three way and add some coil taps

@hoooot4 Actually it is an averaged Guitar no question. And its the money worth 100 %. But you have to know that it isnt a USA Build Strat. But for the money, you wont get any better guitar with those sound possibles. Go for it

@318825768 USA standard strat are not that great. There are poly finish, heavy and dead. I have the BT jazz and its light. I also had a 62 reissue 1400 new that was just a dead sounding guitar.

@318825768 can't speak to the pickups but i've looked at a few of the lighter metallic shades from this line, like the silver teles and jaguars, and can authoriatively say the finishes aren't anywhere near an american standard. you can see the spray etc. under the finish, the lighter colors give away the mexican paintshop. But I DO think this line is good value regardless. I am tempted to pick up two in fact.

you americans are spoiled brats. we europeans have to cough up €550 (USD 700) at the very least for this baby! fender should build a factory in europe or something... but i'm still getting this guitar. reviews say its good for a mexican, and a mexican is all i can afford and it has the perfect features: 22 fret rosewood fretboard, two humbuckers, great looks and hopefully good quality and sound
